The apartment is much more than a typical holiday house; it is a full-worthy 'home'. No wonder, as we lived in it for 5.5 years ourselves. For this reason, our house will be a bit more comfortable and charming than most of the typical holiday accommodations. The well-equipped kitchen and the living/dining area are located at the top of the house: they have a wonderful view. The 'antique' dining table seats 6 without any problem for having meals, a drink, and discussions about God and the world. A comfortable small couch and an armchair invite for watching television or for relaxing. The entire wall of the living/dining area in the direction of Gaiole's centre is made out of glass, offering a wonderful view of Gaiole and its entire surrounding valley. In fact, we are talking about glass doors. This way, the wall can be completely opened and the outdoor terrace linked to the living/dining area. This is especially useful on hot summer days and it is perfect for having breakfast or enjoying a glass of wine at night.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: 1 master bedroom with 2 high-quality, back-friendly beds of the Swedish Lectus brand. The beds are placed next to each other. In addition, this bedroom has a writing desk with a chair and a bathroom with a toilet and a small bathtub with shower. Especially when staying with more than 2 people, two bathrooms are very comfortable. The second bedroom has a double bed and a 2-people sofa bed, 4 sleeping in total. The room is divided by a partition. Except for an opening that is a bit wider than a doorway, the wall is closed, which provides some privacy, even when 4 people are staying in the same bedroom. There is a small balcony in front of the bedroom, on which we love to sunbathe or read. This bedroom also has a private bathroom with a bidet, a shower, and a toilet. In front of the apartment, a table with 4 chairs is available. We share the use of these with another apartment of the complex.
Borgo di Gaiole is the name of the fantastic complex, in which our apartment is located. The complex was finished in 2008. With its antique, castle-like style and its modernly equipped apartments, it is unique. We never saw something like it before, for which we immediately proceeded with the purchase of the apartment. Besides, we were lucky to get hold of one of the most beautiful apartments. Even if you would not rent our apartment, it is worth a trip to Gaiole for having a look at the complex. You will probably love it, just as we do. Of course, the construction of a castle-like building also has its disadvantages, such as high construction costs and narrow hallways, which is why many of the apartments turned out rather dark and small. This luckily was not the case for our apartment, which is located on the main street, while it is divided spaciously and airy.
The complex has a beautiful outdoor pool that, like most pools in Italy, is heated by sunlight. Underneath the complex, there is a garage, where we have 1 parking space available. On hot days (starting from April already!) it is comfortable to be able to park the car out of the sun. In addition, there are many parking spaces in front. Due to the location of our apartment at the main road, there is a clear advantage for loading and unloading the car. For doing so, you can simply park in front of the entry door and park it in the garage underneath the building afterwards. Parking is not allowed on the main street.
We are proud of our apartment and we are sure that you will feel comfortable in here. The apartment is located just a 5-minute walk away from all facilities for your daily needs such as restaurants, wine merchants, bars, banks, barber shops, grocery stores, a butcher's shop, a clothing shop, a souvenir shop, and a tobacco shop.
