A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE IN A UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL LOCATION YET CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER...
At our beautiful location, you are immersed in the incredible wild nature of B.C., and still only 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver! We are at the foot of Mount Seymour, a great ski hill just a 15 minute drive up the road. You can access incredible hikes from your doorstep through forest, kayaking and boating up Indian Arm, and many more great outdoors adventures while having easy access to the city. (For more information click on our website link below further down this page, by scrolling down you will find it right after the Owner Info and Contact Us sections.)
You have a beautiful, quiet, bright, spacious home, on a huge property with a large landscaped garden with a stream running through it. The garden now has multi level bench seating surrounding a fire pit including it's own trails throughout. Deanna Kasta, the architect owner has lovingly remodeled her prize home, preserving the rich warmth of the Cedar walls and exposed beams, and taking advantage of the amazing views over Deep Cove which you can see from the panoramic windows, the big, wide deck, and the outdoor hot-tub. It is such a delight to soak in the hot-tub beneath the stars, away from city lights, and return to a wood fire in the comfort of your Deep Cove home. The house is on a large (200 x 50 ft) property with a mountain stream and there is a managers' apartment on site for convenient help at any time.
The views here are enthusiastically declared, by all who visit, to be of the best in Vancouver; the tall, ancient forests, pristine mountains and islands, and the calm sparkling ocean. You can watch bald eagles, hawks and humming birds, and you might even be lucky enough to see a bear or a deer!
We provide all the amenities you need to call home, so that you can be self- sufficient and economical, all with a hot tub below with it's own view and the stream running through the entire property. We include great furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, fresh linens and towels, and a package with maps, information, and tips to help you acclimatize. All utilities and services are all free and unlimited, including; a new Movie quality 60" Flat Screen TV with cable and Netflix, and high-speed wireless internet for all your devices!!! We even have a Ping Pong table in our enclosed carport that you can use.
You will love being in the quiet yet friendly Deep Cove Community with it's local theatrical plays and quaint downtown. It couldn't be more lovely. But please don't take our word for it... look at our many 5/5 star reviews included on this site or look at our own website. Our many guests over the last eight plus years express the unique experience of an Eagles Nest stay best.
Noise Restrictions: Our Deep Cove neighborhood is very quiet with four foot setbacks between houses, which is normal for our residential area. The neighborhood is very pristine and quiet and noise can travel quite far here. It is almost completely residential, so noise after 10:00 pm and before 9 am cannot be tolerated. This is especially true out on our deck and in the Garden and outdoor Hot Tub. Please be careful about this because we would not be able to have you as guests in Deep Cove without it. If you do make excessive noise after 10:00 pm or before 9 am or excessive noise in the house that bother our neighbors, we reserve the right to ask you to leave without a refund. Please understand Eagles Nest is not and cannot be a Party House. If this is your intention for your trip, we respectfully ask you please find a more appropriate venue.
Parking Restrictions: Usually we have ample parking for families or friends staying at Eagle's Nest. We have room for 3 cars parked close together in front of our carport here at 2490 Caledonia Ave. (The reason for this is our neighbors have one parking space to the left of our garage (as you face the garage) near their steep driveway.)) The very small amount of street parking on this narrow street is highly valued by residents who have steep driveways, so when there are unfamiliar cars on the street, the neighbours can get upset. So for more than three cars, please use the free car park on Panorama Drive (the parallel road below) and shuttle each other up. The distance (2 ½ blocks) can also be walked easily. Also please be careful not to block our neighbour's driveway and remember it is a quiet family neighbourhood.

Nothing brings me more joy than transforming properties into dream
homes and gardens, making them come alive, and providing a quiet
sanctuary for people to be.
I have 35 years experience buying and renovating properties, and more than 20 years experience in the holiday rental business.
My first holiday rental property in Wales, is a gorgeous mountainside
acreage overlooking the Pembrokeshire coastline, with 2 old buildings
that were transformed from rubble into mansions. This time and
experience has given me the knowledge of how to provide a consistent
and reliable standards of service and hospitality, in order to be
continually awarded 4 stars from the National Tourist Board of Wales.
Renovating Eagle's Nest in Deep Cove was a dream come true. This has
really been my chance to create my dream home to love forever and
retire in. But in the meantime lucky renters can enjoy it for
Deanna purchased this house in 2006
I was completely blown away by the views and the feeling of being in wild nature, and the immediate accessibility to Vancouver. when I bought it, the house needed entire renovation, and it makes me so proud to have transformed it to high standards, and to realize the potential of such a beautiful space that I can share this with guests visiting the greater Vancouver area. This is what its all about for me.

Thank you for providing this wonderful accomodation- our stay was short, but enjoyed by everyone.
We bought day passes for $9 snd had a great day in downtown, followed by Grouse Mountain is more beautiful- you can see Vancouver lit up!
The books you have provided here are fantastic! Its lovely sitting with a book on the balcony!
Baby facilities are great by the way!
We spent Christmas week with friends at Eagle's Nest and had a wonderful time! It was close enough to the city to go to the wonderful Museum of Anthropology at UBC and have a fabulous meal at the Teahouse at Stanley Park AND enjoy quiet times by the fire just reading and visiting. We so enjoyed being able to cook and relax at "home," as well as being close enough to some great local restaurants in Deep Cove. The changing views from the windows are beautiful! Thank you Deanna and Paul for a VERY memorable holiday!
My family traveled from New York, Washington, and Colorado to reconnect and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. This property was the perfect vacation rental. We had everything we needed. Our hosts communicated with us in a very timely manner, provided us with descriptions of what was available to us, what the village had to offer, activities in the surrounding area, and a description of how everything in the house worked. The property was homey and comfortable. Even though the weather was rainy we completely enjoyed our time. We played cards, board games, cooked, used the hot tub, sat and enjoyed the beautiful view and took long naps in the comfortable beds. We ventured into Vancouver for a day, went skiing in Whistler, and hiked to Quarry Rock. There were so many more things to do, but we ran out of time. We would highly recommend this property to everyone!! Thank you Paul and Deanna for a wonderful stay.
We are a family of 4 and we rented this lovely home in deep cove for a week. We have family in the area and the open concept kitchen/living room area was ideal for having the family over. The master bedroom is cozy, and has a great view. The view is also amazing from the large deck. It was the perfect location for us as we love water activities and there's lots to do in the area. Deanna and Paul are great. Great communication before you arrive. They live on site and are there to answer your questions and help out. Paul was able to find us a cooler for a day trip. Would greatly recommend this home. It has everything you need and is very charming.
It's a very cozy home with everything there to make one's stay very comfortable. The view from the deck is spectacular. The village which is a short walk away has quaint shops and restaurants. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking. The 35 minute hike to the look out rock was hard but well worth the view to the cove below. The large open living area was able to comfortably accommodate our dinner party of 15. The large bq easily handled the cooking of our steaks. I would highly recommend this home away from home. Thank you Deanna and Paul for making our stay an enjoyable one.
We stayed here for a week in July 2016. The listing description accurately described the property, location, layout, and amenities. The house is not air-conditioned; we did use fans at night. There are many windows and skylights that open and allow pleasant cross breezes that kept the house cool and comfortable.
The property was clean. Parking space was sufficient. House has a beautiful view out the rear to the Deep Cove harbor. Houses on both sides are very close to the property, but during our visit one was empty and the other seemed occupied only on the weekend. Hot tub is located in the yard down below the first floor rear deck. Small village of Deep Cove consists of two blocks of retail shops, casual eateries (including coffee shops and pizza), dock and kayak rentals, businesses, and one nicer restaurant. It’s a ten-minute stroll downhill from the property, with then a moderately strenuous uphill walk back up to the property.
We met the owner, Paul, who happened to greet us upon arrival (he and his wife live in a separate “manager’s apartment” beneath the two-story rental property). He was gracious and friendly, giving us some instructions regarding usage and advice regarding available activities, local shopping and dining, etc. Although we did not need him, he was easily available to us onsite and provided his cell number as well.
We would recommend this property subject to the following pros and cons:
PROS: scenic location and views; nice house that worked well for our family of four adults, with three separate bedrooms, large TV, internet, ping pong table, laundry facilities, and outdoor deck with a gas grill. Deep Cove is a picturesque, small village in quick walking distance, with easy access to North Vancouver towns and activities.
CONS: distance from downtown Vancouver (depending on location of your desired activities); upstairs en suite bathroom sink was very small, with minimal counter space; both showers are small stalls; the condition of kitchen cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms was average, but all worked well.
If you are easy going and not expecting new or fancy accommodations, this place will work well for you, as it did for our family.
Local activities we enjoyed: Deep Cove village (including Arm’s Reach restaurant and the locally famous Honey’s Doughnuts); Deep Cove Kayak Rentals; Quarry Rock trail and lookout; Mt. Seymour Park trails; and visits to other North Vancouver towns, seawalls, and parks.
We stayed with our three small children and enjoyed our stay. The home is a lovely example of a post and beam home and is very warm and cozy. The only complaint I would have is that the bedrooms need proper window coverings if you have children. We found ourselves hanging sheets on the windows so they could fall asleep and not wake up at the crack of dawn (5am!). If you are all adults and aren't bothered by brightness while you sleep it's a great place overall!
We are at the foot of Mount Seymour, Olympic Ski Hill. Ski where the locals do, only 15 minutes from your Deep Cove home.
If that's not enough, there are two other local Ski/Snowboard Resorts Grouse (25 minutes) or Cypress Mountain (35 minutes) not to mention the World Class Whistler resort One 1/2 hours away.
Given rates are for 1 to 8 people. Important: Nightly rates can vary according to the time of season, and whether it's a weekend or weekday. Deep Cove is a very quiet residential area and neighborhood. We can not have loud noizes
outside on our decks or garden after 10:30 pm or before 9 am.
