Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

August 25 to September 1

Although it still needs some updating it is a fabulous house in a glorious setting and a superb pool. More than enough equipment, linen etc. and enough space for to be together or to find a quiet space. The pool area is fantastic and we had good weather all week so it was in constant use. Would recommend it to anyone. We were a family party of 9 [3 generations]. Because we had such good weather and have visited France many times we did not venture too far but with so much within easy reach I'm sure we would have gone further afield had we been there more than a week. The information available at the house was immense. Again I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Excellent property, lovely pool and grounds, close to airport and amenities.

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely week at Moulin Blanc. We were lucky with the weather which was a bit of a heatwave so the excellent pool was well used. Our party was 7 adults and 2 kids. The kids made the most of the woods and garden hunting for the lizards and grasshoppers.

The property is close to the airport but this need not be of concern as there are only a handful of flights each day. The location means no over flying.

Close by is a boulangerie and large supermarket. Bergerac is only 10min away by car and has numerous restaurants and worth an explore especially in the evening.

We would certainly consider a return visit in the future.

Lovely house in an ideal position. extremely well equipped and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful, restful stay. The setting is peaceful, the pool is perfect and as an added bonus you can get down to the river. We ate alfresco most evenings, enjoyed shopping for fresh local produce at Bergerac market and the Biocoop and treated ourselves to a memorable evening out at the Tour des Vents restaurant. There was even a local 'vide grenier' sale at which we all managed to find something amongst the plastic toys and old clothes (eg 2 le creuset loaf tins and an earthenware crock).

All four daughters plus new grandchild and boyfriends had a wonderful time. When the weather was not so good we went on walks and although the owners don't recommend it, we swam across the Dordogne (the weeds by the bank are thick so we definitely wouldn't recommend it either unless you are in company and are quite strong). The house is incredibly well equipped and we made full use of the table tennis, the boules and the barbecue. We saw lots of wildlife including a lesser spotted woodpecker, a kingfisher by the river and a snake in the woods. It was nice to see red squirrels too. If you are a large party it's very convenient both for the airport (which is practically next door but fortunately tiny and so not disturbing) and the station. We would definitely recommend this house. Thanks for a lovely, healing time!

Lovely property in idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a party of 8 staying and we had plenty of room. The dining room is very large and has ample cutlery etc. The pool is very good and clean and was used every day. The kitchen is slightly smaller but is sufficient. The only issue we found was the smell of the septic tank in the second week but this can be reduced by using the appropriate powders.

So good we have been two years in a row now!

  • 5 of 5

Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our holiday in your lovely home. The garden was excellently kept and the pool was 'divine' (quote from my mother). Everything was really close by and real consideration has clearly gone in to making people feel at home. The garage was a big plus as it was well stocked with everything we needed, and all your stuff was excellent quality. We had quite a large group and I was a bit concerned that we'd get in each others way but the house was large enough and well equipped enough to prevent this.

We enjoyed it so much we're already thinking about returning again next year! We should have run out of wine by then.

Perfect holiday home for a large group

  • 5 of 5

Setting is impressive; house well equipped with plenty of toys to make the children feel right at home. Our party of six adults and two children stayed for a week. We had a fabulous time. Loads of outdoor space and a BBQ at hand made eating outdoors each night a must. Spacious common living areas and plenty of bedrooms for all. Kitchen was well equipped. James was really helpful in pre-preparations for our stay (thank you). Highly recommend this accommodation to large groups or families. A perfect holiday enjoyed immensely by all of us.

Car: recommended

The house is on the rural edge of Bergerac itself, also bordering the village La Conne, and as such is 5 minutes by car into the centre of Bergerac, where you will find countless restaurants and a picturesque, busy old town of probably about 25,000 population.

It is 2km North of the Airport BUT since the runway is East-West, you cannot hear (all 5 per day) international flights landing or taking off. You get the best of both worlds with the proximity but not the noise.

The house is set in 3.6 hectares of private grounds including 150m of Dordogne river frontage.

It is also 5 minutes drive from a large Leclerc supermarket for all your shopping. There are other supermarkets nearby too. You can't walk to get bread unfortunately but it's very close by car (unless you persuade the miller opposite to make you some).

Other Activities: Canoeing, Boat Trips, Wine, Cooking and Art Courses, Pot Holing, Archery, all ages outdoor climbing centre in trees (3+yrs), walking, gastronomy

Golf: There is a 18 hole local golf course, details on request...
