About Fabrice and Isabelle Barotte

Together with our 2 daughters, cat, dog and horses, we fell in love with the Provence in 2004.

Isabelle is Italian and Fabrice Parisian

We work together in advertising, communication and marketing

We love surfing and travelling (Brazil, Thailand, Costa Rica, Holland and of course Italy). We mix rock, pop and soul music and we are fans of the Theatre Festival of Avignon and addicted to bike rides, walks and horse ride around our house.

Fabrice and Isabelle Barotte purchased this mas in 2013

Why Fabrice and Isabelle Barotte chose L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

Large holiday house with lots of character

In the middle of orchards and horses in a completely quiet area

A few steps away from the famous capital of antique dealers: Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

We are happy to share the magic of this place with other holiday-makers

What makes this mas unique

In this house, we love the offered space, all rooms are large, some are huge but they are always convivial thanks to the charm of the authenticity of this place and the many openings to the outside.

A house in which it is pleasant to live with a fully fitted kitchen, an adjacent dining room and a double living room with fireplace, home cinema and billiards.

All suite bedrooms are independent and have their own character

In the heart of nature and animals, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is only a few minutes away by bike.

Beautiful, large home in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

This house is a beautifully renovated old farm house located outside of town. Very private, romantic and surrounded by a lovely landscape. It was a perfect place for our family reunion. The pool is fantastic. Plenty to do and see in the immediate area. Terrific restaurants! The kitchen is perfect for cooking large meals. Nice place to eat both outside and in. Comfortable living room areas too! My only suggestion would be to prepare for the flies. We bought fly paper and that seemed to take care of the situation. The owners are very nice and welcomed us to their home. We would come again if the opportunity presented. Thank you for a memorable time in France!

Large property set in delightful countryside with lots to see and do.

  • 4 of 5

The property is an old Mas which has been thoroughly modernised while retaining its character. It is well appointed, with a pool and lots of outside space. It is well situated to make the most of the many sights and places worth visiting in the area. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us good recommendations of places to eat! We had a wonderful holiday and highly recommend the Mas aux grands galops.

Wonderful.

Everything is wonderful about this house, the house itself, the surroundings and the owners, who did everything for us. The house is fantastically equipped and every tiny details in place. We were two families together and had a lovely week in this gorgeous house. We will definitely come back.

By Far the Best VRBO Stay Ever

  • 5 of 5

I want to thank both Fabrice and Isabella for the amazing time that my family had at their beautiful home. Honestly the pictures do not do justice to the beauty of both the home and the surrounding lands. We have stayed at over 100 properties with VRBO and this is our favorite. Isabella took ample time to describe all the functions of the home and made us feel like it was our home as well. From the horses, to the cat, to the resident fox (yes that is right, we heard a fox every night) you truly feel completely shut off from the craziness of life and naturally begin to relax and chill. We needed it more than we knew. Be sure to play ping pong out at the barn....Which my son and I did all week. The location is the perfect launching point for days of exploring local ancient villages and I'sle sur la sourge has some of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. We will be coming back and staying for much longer. Thank you again Fabrice and Isabella. We are grateful for our time that we had.

We just returned from an unique stay!

An unforgettable vacation at this peaceful location in the middle of nature!

The warm welcome was very friendly with Fabrice & Isabella and we felt directly"home". The way all is arranged and taking care off shows a genuine care for what guests in vacation mood are looking for.

The horses and the lovely cat were very friendly, our children were delighted...

The house is located close to a number of historic towns with many excellent restaurants and the shopping and culture of Aix-en-Provence is only some 40 minutes drive away.

Highly recommendable if you are looking for a family moment in a natural and peaceful environment with privacy for all.

Melvin

The perfect Luberon experience

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks in this wonderful holiday home as part of a celebration for our 10th wedding anniversary in September.

The house itself is amazing, a perfect mix of old stones with modern facilities. We had wonderful dinners in the garden, spent long hours sunbathing next to the heated pool and did a lot of sightseeing everyday… For sure, one of our best holidays ever. I would definitely recommend Le Mas des Grands Galops to all of our friends…

The house is very well located to introduce our friends and family to some of our favourite villages nearby. As beautiful as the property appears on the website, it is even more breathtaking in person.

The place is really peaceful and quiet, with a beautiful view on the Luberon's mountains and the owners' horses in the background. The pool was great for the warm afternoons, and we found the large kitchen very enjoyable to prepare meals in.

The home is 5 minutes distance by bike to Isle Sur La Sorgue center ans its famous market, restaurants, cafes and all shops

This is a perfect choice if you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay while enjoying the Luberon.

Fabrice and Isabella are excellent hosts who cannot do enough to make sure that their guests enjoy a perfect stay at their property.

Thank you and hope to come again soon !

Small town nestled in the Vaucluse, birthplace of the famous poet René Char, l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue was named after its river. Former fishing village, it has expanded over the centuries and has prospered thanks to its wheat, wool and silk industries which turbines used to rotate thanks to the large water wheels that scattered the banks. To this day, the vestiges of these imposing wheels take centre stage almost everywhere in the town for the greater pleasure of visitors.

The old town is worth the visit. Formerly surrounded by ramparts, it has preserved its history. Renaissance Gothic facades, majestic private mansions and Baroque churches sprinkle the town with small jewels to discover during a walk.

Fishing is still practised in Isle. Fishermen in flat bottom boats, the Nego Chin, go to Isle-sur-la-Sorgue both in summer and winter to bring back crayfish, trout, grayling and eel.

Whether you visit Isle-sur-la-Sorgue during a weekend or a week, you will certainly appreciate its picturesque and very original heritage.

The first Sunday of August, do not miss the floating market during which you can buy delicious local specialties directly to the producers. While you will be on the banks of the river, the traders will be in their Nego Chin close to the banks. If you think you will not be able to be here on the first Sunday of August, do not give up because 2 other markets take place every week for the greater pleasure of good food lovers. The local products market takes place every Thursday morning and the Provencal market every Sunday morning. Take the opportunity to bring back fresh and very tasty fruits that you will cook when you will come back to your holiday rental in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. During your visit, find out about the many guided themed visits organised by the tourist office of Isle. Water, history, bike, archaeology, poetry, etc.: many themes are covered and will delight both children and adults!

On site, do not miss:

- Water sharing, key site where the Sorgue is divided into 2 distinct streams: the Sorgue de Velleron and the Sorgue d’Entraigues.

- The 14 water wheels that are spread in the town, vestiges of its active industrial town

- The Islet of the Silver Tower with its 12th century tower and its centuries-old buildings

- Avignon, town of the Palais des Papes and the famous bridge with the same name

- The Luberon Regional Nature Park and its breathtaking Provencal landscapes

If you are looking for a charming getaway in a small picturesque town with magical past, you will not be disappointed by Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Over the centuries, it has seduced more than one person and we are sure that you will be a part of those who will choose it as their top holiday destination for the years to come.
