Surrounded by nature, yet centrally located, this apartment is nestled between the lakes of Thun and Brienz, overlooking the legendary 4158m high Jungfrau Mountain.
The almost century-old house has a large garden to linger in. The ground floor apartment has been renovated with a lot of love and radiates warmth and cosiness. It has a separate entrance and barbecue facilities with seating in the garden. Depending on the season you visit you may pluck fresh kitchen herbs yourself!
The sitting room has a fireplace and there are two bedrooms, a modern kitchen with everything you'd wish for as well as a functional bathroom.
The decorations and furniture are unique and well thought out with love.
We (family of 4) enjoyed our stay in Apartment Rosi during the last week of April. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed by the owner who explained everything and gave helpful tips on what to do, where to go and where to eat and provided maps and brochures for highlights in the area.
The apartment itself is very nice, it is on the ground floor with a large garden around which can be used. The view from the apartment is great, on clear days you can see the Jungfrau range. Also the apartment is perfect for up to 4 persons, it is very clean, it does have all amenities required. A very nice aspect during this time of the year is the fireplace, when it gets a bit chilly in the evening you can light up a few blocks and the house is warm until the next morning. Wood is provided for free! If I have to point out an improvement opportunity then it would be the bathroom situation, the heater and bathtub setup is somewhat precarious but that is just small stuff and did not take away from our great experience.
The location in Matten is quite central, it is close to a busstation and a few stops away from either Interlaken-West or Interlaken-Ost train station which are good starting points for either visit the center of Interlaken, a boat ride or start your sightseeing tour to whatever part of the country.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Matten due to the good apartment, friendly and helpful owners and of course the beauty of Switserland.

A very nice, hygienic, beautiful house at perfect location. The owners and the host (Agent) very nice and ready to help as many times you want.
House is located near bus stop on the route of bus number 104 and 105, which was very convenient for us.
Super market, Coop is also near the bus stop at walkable distance.
Overall I must say value for money apartment.
My family had their best time in Switzerland. Thanks to our host (Diarmuid and Kashi) and the owners.
Great place to stay, very clean! We were even treated to homemade fig jam by the owner. We enjoyed the lovely garden.
This property is well located to amazing sites. Interlaken is a wonderful place to vacation.
This is a lovely apartment in a good location. The Interlaken/Grindelwald area is wonderful, with breathtaking views.
The apartment is in good condition, spacious and comfortable for four. It has free parking on-site for one car. Matten is 1km from the centre of Interlaken, but has facilities of its own (restaurants, a Coop open seven days a week - a recent innovation!). It takes 10 minutes to walk to Interlaken centre and the main OST station. The station at Wilderswill is only slightly further. If you don't fancy walking the post-bus is free with the guest card provided with the accommodation.
Diarmuid was extremely helpful and responsive during the booking and arrival processes. Cascia provided plenty of useful information and good tips. We had a brilliant time and would happily stay here again.
My family of four (children are 18 and 21) spent two weeks in Italy and Switzerland, renting apartments through VRBO almost everywhere we stayed and this one was our favourite. Everything was exactly as stated and the booking process was very easy. Diarmuid answered all of my e-mails promptly both before making the reservation and also when I had questions before our arrival. He and Cascia also provided a lot of information on things to do, maps, and restaurant suggestions.
The apartment was very spacious and felt very warm and homey. The view from the living room (when it wasn't raining) was spectacular. The shower was a little bit quirky but we figured it out. The wifi was excellent and it was nice to have a number of TV channels in English. We had rented a car so we had no trouble getting around the area but I think even for people without a car, the train station is a walkable distance.
Overall, we all enjoyed this apartment very much. We felt very much at home.
We had a wonderful time in Interlaken. Diarmuid was so helpful with everything and was nice to see on the first day we arrived. The apartment was everything we needed and in a great location. Easy to walk to down town for shopping and eating but also quiet area to stay in. The apartment was really cute and felt like home during our 5 day stay.
