Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom Sleeps 4

This bright, elegant Georgian (1760's) apartment is your perfect pied-a-terre in Central London. Situated in Handel St. a quiet, tree lined side street just off Brunswick Sq. in the heart of Bloomsbury, the flat is barely five minutes walk from Russell Square tube (Piccadilly line) or the red double decker buses on Woburn Place/Southampton Row. A pleasant ten minute walk though Russell Sq Gardens and you're at the British Museum and UCL Campus or walk North to Euston Rd for the British Library and St Pancras (Eurostar). To the South (two tube stops) or 20 minutes walk, takes you to Covent Garden, Shaftesbury Ave and the West End theatres.

The whole building was completely refurbished in 2005 and this second floor flat is a charming place to return to after a busy day of sight seeing or shopping. Retaining the original marble fireplace and cream painted shutters, the high ceilings and long Georgian windows give a feeling of space and light whilst modern, quality furniture ensures your comfort.

Travel to the flat is excellent with Heathrow just an hour away, straight through on the Piccadilly line. The Eurostar train to Paris/Brussels is 10 minutes walk or one tube stop, similarly to Euston Station. With Liverpool St.(Stansted) or Victoria (Gatwick) a short cab ride away, this delightful home away from home has the advantage of being in a most central location and yet enjoying a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood setting.

Visiting London with your partner, or a small group of friends? If you prefer the comfort and freedom of self-catering accommodation, then this newly refurbished and very comfortable one bedroom flat (sleeps 4) in central London could be just what you’re looking for. The flat has been recently decorated in a vibrant contemporary style and has all the modern conveniences. It’s the perfect place to put your feet up and relax after a hard day of sightseeing. It can become quite expensive eating out every night, so having your own kitchen is a fantastic advantage allowing you to enjoy some nights in, eating home-cooked meals in your home-away-from-home. This, together with the very reasonable rental rate, means you’re getting comfort, convenience and value-for-money.

Location

The flat is ideally located in Central London, a stone’s throw from Russell Square, the home of the famous British Museum. Russell Square is a perfect location for those visiting London, right in the centre of the action and is part of the historic Bedford Estate.

The local area also boasts many great shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Close by is the upmarket Brunswick Shopping Centre, where, along with its range of eclectic shops, cafés, restaurants and bars you’ll find the famous Renoir art-house cinema which is great for box office movies. On top of all this, it’s walking distance to Covent Garden for the famous markets and street acts and walking distance is Oxford Street for shopping. There is a selection of interesting restaurants and a small Farmers Market on Weds and Saturday.

On a beautiful sunny day, you may like to take a trip to the world famous London Zoo at Regents Park, or take a stroll in one of the pleasant local parks such as St George’s Gardens or Coram’s Fields.

Russell Square tube station, on the Piccadilly line, is only a five-minute walk away from the flat for when you would like to travel further afield. Please see transportation section below.

It’s only four stops to Piccadilly Circus at the heart of the West End for theatres, the Trocadero and shopping on Regents Street. St Paul’s Cathedral, Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece, is also only a few stops away by tube. Green Park tube station, approximately fifteen minutes journey away, is for Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guards. Regents Park, the home of London Zoo, is only about 20 minutes by tube from the flat. The famous top class Harrods department store is a twenty minute tube ride away at Knights bridge. So, the flat could not be more ideally located whether you’re looking for culture, night-life, shopping, or simply a nice evening meal.

About Sachin

I am the owner of this beautiful fully furnished flat. I have lived in London for 8 yrs now and I just love this vibrant multi cultural city.

This flat is my BABY so I look after it very well. We bought this flat because of its location as it is so ideal for tourist to go around London. Any information you need will come directly from me the owner and no middle agents involved. When I travel abroad I live in apartments myself as it is so much better so I thought why not have a apartment for holiday guest coming to London and that is the reason I bought this flat keeping in mind the convenience for all Tourist

Sachin purchased this apartment in 2009

Why Sachin chose Camden & Covent Garden

We wanted a flat that was as central as we could afford, with easy access by tube and by foot to theatres, museums and with local shopping. We stayed at the Russell Sq Hotel for a few nights to attend a family wedding and realized the area answered all these criteria. Quite by chance we found the property in nearby Handel St.It was in the process of being refurbished and the flats just coming on the market. It didn't take long to decide that we wanted to buy. The building itself is lovely, 1760's Georgian with long windows looking out onto a quiet side St. and an easy walk to the British Museum and moments from nearby shopping.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat is amazingly convenient for all the urban delights offered by being in such a central situation. The nearby Brunswick Centre re-opened recently with it's fun shops and restaurants and The British Museum is a 10 minute stroll across Russell Sq. But the extra bonus is the Eurostar Terminal at St. Pancras. In ten minutes or so you can wheel your bag up to the check in, hop on the early morning train and 2 hours later enjoy a mid morning coffee and croissant in Paris or Brussels!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The apartment is great, it is nicely furnished and offers plenty of space and is equipped with everything you need on holiday, the great location makes this minor flaw, however, up for it. SACHIN was very courteous and communication with him was pleasant and uncomplicated

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

This place was great for our stay in London. The location was fantastic. It's close to the underground, shopping, parks, and major sights. The neighborhood was nice. We choose to travel during one of the hottest times in London, so we kept the windows open all the time, and the street was a bit noisy, but nothing unbearable. The apartment is nice, considering it seems a bit older. There are a few things that could be fixed and/or updated, especially the bathroom. But all in all it was a fantastic place to stay. Very comfortable, very convenient. Sachin was pleasant to work with and responded quickly to questions I had. It was a great stay.

Had tea and coffee available if needed. We were met on arrival, shown apartment. We had all essential things we required. Better price than in hotels. Nice small flat - easy to walk to many attractions

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 5 weeks on a business trip to London. This place is really easy to access from the tube and during my stay I was able to walk to 90% of the places I wanted to visit. The place is small but was perfect for what I needed. Warm bed, hot showers. Close by to a few parks and plenty of pubs and eateries. The owner was prompt in replying to any questions and made the whole visit easy. No hassles.

All you need in an excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

The flat was clean and had everything we needed. It is on a quiet street next to a shopping area with restaurants shops and Starbucks. Our host was very friendly and accommodating! He takes pride in his property. Russell square tube station was a 5-7 min walk.

The building has lots of character and is quiet. If you don't mind a few "wrinkles" due to age ( I think the building was built in 1800s)this is a great property. I was there 10 days and felt right at home. No lift and on 3 rd floor but good exercise!

I would definitely stay there again!

Basic, cheerful, affordable London flat near British Museum

  • 4 of 5

My son and I had a lovely time for 3 nights in March 2016. Long-ish but straightforward trip by train and Underground from Heathrow. Pleasant neighbourhood near parks. Up 4 flights of stairs. As you enter the flat, kitchen is directly in front, living room to left, bathroom and bedroom to right. Son slept on comfortable sofabed, and there was enough distance for privacy. Bathroom small but clean. Host was very responsive, pleasant and helpful.

FANTASTIC FIRST STOP IN EUROPE!

  • 4 of 5

We could not have asked for a better location. just a short walk from Kings Cross station, easy to find and safe surroundings. Didn't take long at all to get to downtown London and enjoyed not staying in a quieter yet still convenient location. A mall and shopko are a short walk away and have lots of choices for groceries, delicious restaurant/pub O'Neills was the perfect distance to get a nice walk in after dinner. Lots of choices for food and drink on the way from the station to the home. So glad we stayed and would love to return on our next trip!
