About Washingpool Farm

Here at Washingpool Farm we run a farm shop, restaurant, fishing lakes, holiday cottages and caravan site as well as growing and producing our own fruit, vegetables and meat to supply the shop.

Washingpool Farm is run by three generations. Noel looks after the farm whilst Gill (Noel's sister) and Alan (Gill's husband) along with their two children Bryony and Simon look after the Farm Shop and Restaurant with help from Vicky (Simon's wife).

Simon, Vicky, Noel and Bryony all live on the farm along with their children.

Why Washingpool Farm chose Dorset

John, Joyce and Noel Eveleigh moved to Washingpool Farm in the 1970’s where they started growing fruit and vegetables.

The farm consists of land situated on the end of the sand belt that runs from Yeovil, 20 miles away, through to Bridport. This means the soil is free draining and ideal for growing vegetables as it can be worked most of the year. The farming system is virtually sustainable with both animals and crops playing a vital role.

For ten years the produces grown was originally sold as farm gate sales. After that trading began in Bridport high street,

selling our own produce supplemented with that from other local farms. Continued success moved the shop back to the farm in August 2000. The growth of the shop has matched that of the family with three generations now living ‘on the farm’.

Sunny week in July 2017!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Dairy Cottage! Great place to be with a well equipped cottage and a nice shop with farm grown lettuce, potatos etc. And I have to mention the yummy cream tea. We are a family of 4 (parents and 2 girls aged10,14) and we were lucky to have a nice warm week with average 25 degrees. At Lulworth Cove it got even to hot! The cottage was fine, only the two rooms for the girls got quite warm an the windows were a little tricky to open.
