About the property

Two Bedroom Country Cottage In A Conservation Area with country views.

Bellfield cottage is in a beautiful peaceful country location just a few minutes drive from Banbury and the M40 motorway. With miles of country walks from the front door, an award winning pub serving excellent food at less than a hundred yards, and within close driving distance to major attractions, this is the ideal self catering accommodation for a short break or as a base for an extended exploration of the surrounding area.

Bellfield cottage was extensively refurbished in 2013 and now offers comfortable accommodation with one double and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms upstairs and a cloakroom downstairs, a cosy lounge, a well equipped kitchen dining room, and a cottage garden with patio areas and a summerhouse fitted out as an artist's studio. For winter evenings the cottage is kept cosy with the log effect fire in the lounge and under floor heating to the dining room and bathrooms.

There is parking outside and free wifi is available throughout the cottage.

Bellfield is actually a three bedroom cottage with one bedroom reserved as a storeroom meaning that the downstairs accommodation is larger than usual for a two bedroom cottage.

About Richard and Wendy Brittaine

The owners are Richard and Wendy who bought Bellfield Cottage in 2013 after their return from working in the hospitality industry in the Maldives. Their aim has been to upgrade the cottage to be available for their occasional use when they are not travelling. As such it has been equipped as a real home, not just a holiday home.

Richard and Wendy Brittaine purchased this cottage in 2013

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thank you. We had a lovely weekend break. Beautiful cottage. Had a good walk over the fields to Wardington. Dined in the George and Dragon every night! Very convenient for M40 yet totally away from it all. Will definitely come again!" ....The Scrimshaws, Croydon.

Lovely Cottage with a host of features

  • 5 of 5

Our Stay over Christmas was quiet and homely, just as we had hoped. Everything that we could have needed was there and all was clean and tidy for our arrival. The large kitchen dining room was extensive enough for the four of us to have plenty of room. We took some walks in the neighbourhood and found some good place to eat and drink. Contact with the owners was very quick and helpful.

Immaculately clean cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Bellfield Cottage for NYE weekend. We wanted a quiet family break and we were not disappointed. Bellfield is a lovely little cottage in the picturesque village of Chacombe. You have a beautiful view from the main bedroom looking over a field towards the church. There is a quaint local pub with friendly bar staff. The cottage is extremely clean and comfortable for a family of 4. You have everything you need for a short or long break. The cottage is out of the way enough for a quiet, peaceful break but close enough to Oxford and Stratford upon Avon for days out. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family and would love to visit again.

Lovely comfortable cottage set in a small village inbeautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Cosy well equipped cottage, everything is kept to an extremely high finish. There are quirky stairs leading into each of the bedrooms which is part of the overall charm but if you have a mobility problem you will need to take extra care. Pub very close by. Field opposite where everyone seems to exercise their dogs - lots of opportunity for walking.

Beautifully kept

It was in an ideal spot, lovely village. The cottage was just perfect for our break. The garden was extremely pretty with lots of old fashioned flowers in full bloom.

We would defiantly come back again.
