3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Real Fires, Water Views From All Rooms, Bluebell Woods

Spindrift is a rambling waterside property nestled into it's gardens and orchard/field behind the house., it is believed to have been built in the 1700's. There are three light filled double bedrooms upstairs, all with water views. Two have King sized 5ft wide vintage French beds and one bed is a Super King 6ft wide. All the beds have new and very high quality mattresses. Bed linen and towels are of a similar quality. Upstairs there are two bathrooms, one a shower room with toilet and the other a semi en-suite bathroom with polished plaster walls, vaulted ceiling and a deep roll top bath.

Downstairs the enclosed front porch leads to an inner door which opens onto a lovely slate floored sitting room and dining room all with different river views. There is a large open fire with plentiful wood in winter and the dining room has another open fire area.

The back door entrance opens onto the utility room and downstairs cloakroom with toilet. The kitchen has triple aspect windows mainly to the water and it is fully equipped with everything a cook might need, including a large range cooker.

All floors downstairs are black riven slate.

There is TV and wireless internet and a high quality sound system for IPod and CD's.

This is not really a holiday home, but our real home. What we like, you can use. We have books and art and well... stuff... It feels like a real home. It's the way we like you to stay. Feel free to ask about bringing dogs. We can supply a dog towel.

Surfing and sailing are popular on this coast. We also have a boat moorings, but it is a tidal river and the boats have to be able to cope with this. You can also fish from the shore. I've been told the fish are good.

The front of the house is surrounded by an old low stone wall. This is a real sun trap and good to sit out on. Our gardens are approached through an arch and up some steep steps to countless lawns and beds. It's a great exploring garden. Follow the steps up through the garden and you will come to our very secluded bluebell field. This is totally safe for kids and a great place to picnic, play games, climb trees etc. It has great views of the river.

If you have a very large party of people we also manage another property that sleep six. It's about a ten minute drive away on the cliff at Whitsand Bay. This would bring the total accomodation to12 people over two properties. Please ask for details and I will refer you to the other reference on the site.

At certain times of the year we can offer a discount for just two people occupying the property

We bought the house in 2013 and it has undergone a major renovation programme. Passionate about architecture this is probably the last in a long list of wonderful and magical places we have lived in. I hope our passion shines through... it's our home not just a holiday let. If this appeals, then you'll feel at home too.

Why Caz chose Cornwall

Simply, it's the most magical house in a brilliant location. Amazing views from every window and no-one to overlook you. We are not isolated though and villages and beaches are very close with the city of Plymouth across the water by ferry or accessible by road. This is a pretty unique property.

What makes this cottage unique

Water views from every room and a boat mooring if you require it. The river is also good for canoeing. We have over an acre of gardens including a field awash with primroses and bluebells in the Spring. It's a great place for kids and dogs to explore. The walks are amazing and the sea and beaches are so close. Add to that the wonderful local villages with good food and larger towns close to hand and ponies to watch on Dartmoor. What's not to like?

Inside the colours have been chosen to suit the light in each room. Natural stone floors are laid throughout. The sitting and dining areas are warmed by a large fire in the winter along with wonderful new cast iron radiators, that are lovely to sit on. We love to cook so we think we have covered every angle in the kitchen. This room has amazing water views. A large range gas cooker gives ample cooking and we have all the usual.. dishwasher etc with washing machine and separate dryer in a utility room that leads to the downstairs toilet. Oh yes, and you can and you can sip a glass of wine and watch the sun set.

  • The upstairs bathroom has a deep rolltop bath with handshower and a large basin. Copper and brass lighting on dimmers gives a romantic feel to the room. Three square windows look out across the gardens. There is a vaulted ceiling into the rafters and the walls are polished plaster, with marble floors. It's toasty warm with a massive radiator and a heated towel rail. This room can also be used as an ensuite.. The fully tiled shower room has a high quaility shower with a basin and toilet. The floors are limestone and the window overlooks the water. There is a heated towel rail. Downstairs there is a separate WC with washbasin and heated towel rail.

  • Three light filled bedrooms all with water views. One bedroom has two views and a massive Super King sized bed (6ft wide). With a window behind it, you can see the water without leaving the bed, I t has a painted wood floor and ample storage. There is a Victorian fireplace on one wall The second bedroom has a single water view and a large King sized (5ft) vintage French bed and ample storage with a Victorian fireplace and painted wood flooring. Bedroom three has three views and a large vintage French bed (5ft), plenty of storage, a vaulted ceiling and painted wood floors. The adjoining bathroom can be used as an en-suite if required. All the mattresses are new and very high quality and all the pillows are duck or goose down, so soft and snuggly. We furnish as we would want to find it , so all the sheets and duvets are really good quality and always freshly laundered.

This location has pretty much everything. It's a very quiet location but not remote. The views are amazing, the countryside fantastic. The beaches are the best I know and the local villages are really lovely. Large towns and cities are not too far away and you don't have the traffic you can get further into Cornwall. Our local village of Millbrook gets overlooked by King sand/Cawsand, but it is a lovely walk or cycle along the river and then the lake (or you can of course drive). It's a really thriving village with local shops, beauty salon, pharmacy, pubs and a great organic shop and cafe. Explore a bit further round and other little gems offer themselves up as well. We can let you know where they are.

Nettes, kleines Häuschen direkt am Wasser, aber ..

Das Objekt ist ein nettes, saniertes altes Häuschen mit Garten. Es steht an einer kleinen Strasse ausserhalb von Millbrook, einem kleinen Dorf. Für jemanden, der seinen Urlaub nur im Haus oder der näheren Umgebung verbringen möchte, ist die Lage sehr schön. Wenn man jedoch wie wir, ganz Cornwall besichtigen möchte, ist die Lage zu abgelegen, da man schon knapp 20 Meilen bis zur nächsten größeren Zubringerstraße fahren muß. Auch zum Einkaufen benötigt man ein Auto oder zumindest ein Fahrrad.


Das Haus ist mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet. Auch das WLAN hat relativ gut funktioniert.

Vor der Anreise war die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin sehr gut.

Die schriftliche Beschreibung für die Anreise war sehr gut. Wir haben das Haus und den Schlüssel sofort gefunden.


Vor Ort hat man keinen Ansprechpartner.

Als wir ankamen, war in der Küche im Teebereiter noch der Teesatz vom Vorgänger. Auch war das restliche Geschirr schmutzig. Auf dem Ablagebrett waren sehr viele Brösel. Hier wurde definitiv nicht geputzt.

Zwei Zimmertüren (ein Schlafzimmer und ein Bad) hatten keine Türklinken und konnten somit nicht geschlossen werden.

In einem Schlafzimmer war der Bezug der Bettdecke - wahrscheinlich normaler Verschleiß durch Waschen - zerrissen.

Da wir ja keinen Ansprechpartner hatten, haben wir die Küche selber geputzt und den Rest so hingenommen. Dies war ein Fehler.

Als ich die Vermieterin nach unserem Urlaub wg. der Rückerstattung der Kaution angeschrieben habe, hieß es zuerst, die Kaution wird die nächsten Tage zurücküberwiesen. Als ich nach 1 1/2 Wochen immer noch nichts gehört habe, habe ich die Vermieterin nochmals angeschrieben. Daraufhin hat Sie mir mitgeteilt, daß sie die Kaution abzüglich 84 Pfund für den zerrissenen Bettbezug zurücküberweist - nach 1 1/2 Wochen. Als ich sie darauf hingewiesen habe, daß der Riss bereits bei Bezug so war, habe ich nichts mehr von der Vermieterin gehört. Die Kaution ist abzüglich 84 Pfund zurückgekommen. Kommunikation seitens der Vermieterin fand nicht mehr statt. Wenn wir einen Schaden verursacht haben, bezahlen wir ihn natürlich auch. Aber bei diesen hohen Mietpreisen fast 100 Euro für ein Verschleißteil, welches wir nicht zerrissen haben und das für normalerweise 20-30 Euro zu haben ist, abzuziehen, ist unverschämt. Wir haben daraus gelernt, in Zukunft jede Kleinigkeit sofort zu reklamieren und bei dieser Vermieterin mit Sicherheit nicht mehr zu buchen, denn das ist Abzockerei.

Owner's Response: Leider habe ich diese Antwort erwartet. Mein Staubsauger berichtete über einen sehr großen Riss in der Bettdecke, wenn Sie gereinigt werden am Ende des Urlaubs. Es war nicht möglich, da es so groß war. Ich habe ein Foto für die Gäste. Sie sagte, es sei es, wenn Sie angekommen sind. Dies ist unwahrscheinlich, da der Reiniger erwähnt hätte es mir und ich fragte sie, warum Sie nicht in diesem Bericht zu Beginn des Urlaubs. Wir versuchen sehr hart, um sicherzustellen, dass alles perfekt ist. Die Antwort war, einige "Krümel" und eine Teekanne, war nicht sauber. Die Teekanne ist in einem Schrank als Privat gekennzeichnet und sollte nicht verwendet werden, um für die Gäste. In sehr seltenen Fällen kann sich Krümel verpasst. Es ist nicht passiert! Es tut mir Leid, wenn einige gelassen wurden. Ich sagte, diese für die Gäste.... Wir per e-Mail so viele Male auf die Anzahlung zurück. Wir haben nie eine Antwort erhalten. Ich habe noch die E-Mails und E-Mails nach Hause. So der Kommentar, dass wir nicht die Anzahlung zurück schnell ist einfach nicht wahr. Ich habe endlich eine Antwort erhalten, als ich sagte, ich hätte, um die Gelder, die durch PayPal, da ich noch nicht von Ihnen gehört. Normalerweise für kleine Brüche (Tassen, Gläser etc. Wir laden nicht, aber das war ein ziemlich neues Federbett mit einem sehr großen Riss und ich musste eine andere organisieren per Express Lieferung für neue Gäste. Wir kaufen keine "billige" decken, sind aber alle Leinen oder Baumwolle. Dies ist was Sie erwarten können. Haben wir unser Eigentum an 3 Standorten für über 4 Jahre und haben 5 Sterne auf allen. außer diesem nur empfangen. Es ist schade, dass sie sich der Notwendigkeit, eine Antwort auf die Schäden in dieser Art und Weise. Ich habe aber es erwarten. Das Gebiet ist keineswegs "remote", aber es ist die Fernbedienung und spezielle. Es ist am Anfang von Cornwall, also ja zu anderen Teilen yu haben zu fahren! Wenn Sie möchten, authentisch und wild und schön, dann ist dies für Sie mit gutem Essen, großartige Strände, schöne Spaziergänge und die Stadt Plymouth, eine Bootsfahrt, manchmal mit Robben im Wasser. Wenn Sie ein Tourist dann vielleicht andere Teile besser sein wird. Ich habe immer die Gäste Listen der Orte zu gehen, wo man Essen, Kneipen, Wege und Orte zum Einkaufen. Unser Dorf ist ein Spaziergang entfernt und hat 3 Supermärkte, einschließlich der organischen, eine Apotheke, Bars, Geldautomaten etc., also nicht so klein. Plymouth ist eine große historische Stadt. Ich hof

very tastfully furnished and comfortable house

marvelous house, extremely cosy and furnished with a lot of taste. The view from the house is exceptional: all windows have direct view on the water, which gives you the feeling of living on a (very comfortable) boat. The owner is very helpful, all contact has been very friendly. We 'll definitely go back!

We are located on the wild and beautiful Rame Peninsula. Known as the Forgotten Cornwall, its wild untamed beaches and countryside set it apart from the better known areas of Cornwall. No queues, no crowds and with some of the best sandy beaches in England.

We are nestled in the hill on the waterfront with river views from every room. Watch the birds skim the water with the occasional boats going past and sit and enjoy the sunset. We have one boat mooring too, but the river is tidal. The beautiful beaches of Whitsand Bay are a short drive over the hill. Great surfing, rock pools, dog walks and cliff exploring. Kingsand/Cawsand are very easily accessible for family friendly swimming in the sheltered coves. Many other beaches are close by as well.

We are surrounded by acres of lovely woods and fields as our house and orchard/field backs onto the 800 acre Mount Edgcumbe historic house and estate.

The Eden Project is readily accessible and there are plenty of well known restaurants within easy reach. Historical Plymouth is close to hand via road, car and foot ferry. It's a great day out.

A real sense of community exists in this part of the world. The quintessentially Cornish villages of Cawsand and Kingsand are lively in Summer and they have great pubs and food. Historical houses abound, including nearly Port Elliot, the Grade 1 listed mansion in the same family hands since 1565. Mount Edgcumbe is beautiful and a short walk to explore all that's on offer.

The stunning Tamer Valley is very close to hand. Dartmoor and Bodmin moors are within easy reach to watch the wildlife. In Spring our field and the surrounding countryside is awash with amazing bluebells. In short....we love it!
