3 King Master Suites ~Perfect for Couples ~VIEWS of Mtn & River ~ 1PM Checkout

WELCOME!
Bluebird Hill is a beautifully decorated cabin (home) with 3 bedrooms & 3 ½ baths located in the Shenandoah Valley of Front Royal, VA. Our custom built cabin sits on 3 acres at the end of a quiet cul-de sac. We have gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains along Skyline Drive as well as the Massanutten Mountains. The Shenandoah River can be seen in the Fall and Winter, but look for glimpses between the leaves in Spring and Summer too.

No traffic noise, no street lights. Come to relax and explore with family, friends and nature.

This is not a typical "rental." It is owner managed and has everything you will need to call it home for the short time you are here.
It may seem like a world away, but our cabin is really very close to everything. 15-30 minutes from Skyline drive, wineries, caverns, hiking, biking, golf, antiquing, history, festivals and so much more.

MASTER BEDROOMS:
The cabin has 2 en suite bedrooms with KING beds. The large master on the main level boasts a walk in closet and a bathroom with double sinks and a tub. Walk out to the deck to enjoy your own semi private sitting area. The 2nd master bedroom, although smaller (cozy) in size, is located on the 2nd loft level. It is accessed by a set of regular stairs and is fully enclosed. This room has a stand up shower, black out curtains, incredible mountain and river views and privacy! The 3rd master is in the basement and includes a king bed and a twin. The full bath next to this bedroom has a stand up shower.
All bedrooms have flat screen televisions.

Additional ½ bath on the main level.
The comfortable great room has 2 reclining chairs, 2 sofas and a reading chair. The dining table seats 8. There are also 2 high chairs available.

BASEMENT:
Bedroom - King bed and a twin and a full bath with a stand up shower.
Sleep sofa sits nestled in front of the gas fireplace & flat screen TV.
Custom bar has mini fridge for extra food and/ or drinks.
A ping pong table is ready for your friendly tournament. There is an old air hockey table with a couple of dead air spots.
Wood swing on patio.
Card and game table with 4 chairs.

FUN FACTS:
Cabin comes fully stocked with dishes, bakeware, glasses, pots & pans & small appliances. We will get you started with some paper products, basic kitchen condiments, dish washing soap and laundry soap. Full size washer and dryer. The beds are made and towels are provided to make this an easy getaway.

Complete with 5 flat screen TVs, one in the great room area, 1 in the family room in the basement and 1 in each of the master suites. High speed internet, WiFi, YouTube TV with 80+ live channels and streaming. Landline with unlimited long distance calls in the US.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the area relaxing on our spacious deck overlooking the mountains. Seating for 8 at 2 tables. Gas grill is ready. Smaller screened in deck area has seating for 2-4.

We are stocked with games, puzzles and books for all ages.

THE DRIVE: Note- the one mile dirt road to get to our cabin is not state owned. It’s not steep, but it is full of potholes. Slow and steady will get you to the cabin. You do not need a truck or 4 wheel drive. HOWEVER- months where snow is in the forecast will require 4 wheel drive, as we do not know when or if someone will plow. Parking is unlimited.

SECURITY:
SECURITY: For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, Bluebird Hill Cabin is equipped with three functional security cameras that visually capture recordings. Each camera operates continuously, recording 24/7. One camera is dedicated to capturing activity at the front door, another is positioned to monitor the driveway, and the third is located on the basement porch, focusing on the door.

Most Importantly, no cameras are placed inside the house, underscoring our strong commitment to prioritizing both your safety and privacy.

PETS: Well behaved dogs older than 1 will be considered. We limit the number to 2 to cut down on the wear and tear to our home. $10 per night per pet. Make sure to let us know the breed, temperament and age of your dog. We will also ask you to verify that your pet is on a flea & tick preventative.
NOTE: $100 per pet charge if you neglect to inform us that you are bringing a dog.

We have spent quite a bit of time making sure our cabin has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable.
We have been inviting friends & family to enjoy our cabin since 2012. We now extend the invitation to you.

SO MUCH TO DO:
Canoe/ Kayak/ Raft - In case you didn't know, Front Royal is the canoe capital of the world. Rent or bring your own.
Skyline Drive- Hiking and biking is great, but you can also just DRIVE. Lots of places to stop and picnic.
Stargaze- The night sky comes alive at our cabin in the woods.
Sit and Stare- The mountain view is ever changing with the weather and seasons. It is always a good time to sit on the deck. We do not have water access, but we have a great view of the Shenandoah in late fall and winter. You can hear the water flowing from the cabin.
Fire pit- Nothing like a good kumbaya at the end of a perfect day.
Wine- We can suggest a number of excellent wineries within 30-40 minutes of the cabin.
Beer- There are a few breweries in the area and more are popping up yearly.
Hike / Bike- Skyline drive, Shenandoah State Park and Guest State Park are short drives away.
Dinosaurs- Dinosaur Land. A silly must see for the young dino fan.
History- If you are a history buff you will know just what to do. Otherwise check the pamphlets in the cabin for nearby sites.
Golf- If interested, we can tell you about our favorite courses. $-$$$.
Bird watching- When the bears are hibernating, we will leave you some bird seed to put out. You should be able to get a glimpse of a woodpecker or 2 and lot of other native birds. There are also marked bird watching trails close by.
Caverns- Skyline cavern is super close. Luray caverns is approximately 30-40 minutes.
Absolutely Nothing- You can do everything or nothing at all. Your vacation, your choice.
Dine- A number of note worthy locations in Front Royal: Element, Blue Wing Frog, PaveMint Taphouse, Yama Fuji, Soul Mountain, Dee's Pancake House, ViNoVA Mediterranean Bistro, Manor LIne Market, Wandering Joe's to name a few.
Strasburg: The Pancake Underground, Crabby Maggies Seafood, Anthony's JR. Hangouts Grill, Castiglia's Italian & Pizza

We have lots of pamphlets available for you to look through to give you an idea of other things to do in the area. If you let us know your interests, we can help you plan your perfect getaway.

Why they chose this property

About us.
My sister, my husband and I looked and looked for quite some time for a mountain retreat to call our very own. After months of not finding exactly what we wanted, we decided to build our own from scratch.
Our cabin demands- We wanted a beautiful mountain view! We did not want to hear any traffic or see any city lights. We wanted 3 master suites. We didn’t want to be scared out of our wits driving to get there. (We can tell you, there are a lot of crazy, steep roads leading to some of the houses in the area)
What started out as a “cabin” quickly turned into a full blown house.

Bluebird Hill - Named for our parents because of their love / hate relationship with Bluebirds. They had a Bluebird box complete with said bird outside of their bedroom for years. It wasn’t until my dad passed away that a Bluebird started pecking at my mom’s window. Obnoxiously! It’s a common behavior, but my mother insisted that my dad had come back just to irritate her.

Our mom has since passed away, but we wanted to always remember. So that’s how we came up with the place and the name. We proceeded to put up a couple of bluebird houses, and what do you know? We had one move in a couple of years ago! Hi Dad! (Stay away from the cabin windows, please)

After enjoying our cabin with family and friends, we have made the decision to share our home with others.
We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Welcome to Bluebird Hill.

What makes this property unique

Bluebird Hill is a real getaway location. If you want to be close to activities (20 minutes) but far enough away that you will have total solitude for rest and relaxation. The house is large enough for everyone to have their own space and the common areas are super comfortable.
