About Catherine and Bruno Julienne (owners)

After 15 years of coming to this region on holiday and having seen it in all the seasons, we have decided to settle down here and build a Provence architecture style house with antique materials.

We love spending time with friends and family and we love good food and nature.

Catherine is a children's psychologist, Bruno is an engineer who retired not long ago.

Catherine and Bruno Julienne (owners) purchased this house in 2009

Why Catherine and Bruno Julienne (owners) chose Luberon

We would like to share our magnificent region with our guests, as well as its living standard, weather, landscapes, cultural activities and gastronomy.

What makes this house unique

We admire the beautiful landscapes from our house, the quiet countryside, the comfortable house with its bright rooms and its privileged location at the heart of Luberon.

Wonderful!

I wish I was back there by the pool! It was just spectacular. The view, their garden. They are charming hosts and most helpful. We went to many of the Provence towns with no problem. We loved the space. They have done a very nice job.

Would give it 5 stars if they had screens or fans.

We were two couples who stayed at Les Agapenthes for a week and had a terrific time. There are so many beautiful places to see throughout the region. We visited Pont du Gard, the markets in Luberon, the spectacular landscape of lavender, the orange chalk cliffs and the miles and miles of vineyards. The house is beautiful but what we liked the most was the view of the valley and the sight of Bonnieux. The owner Bruno, is a skilled gardener and the property is beautifully maintained. The house is light and bright and wonderfully equipped with all the necessary amenities. Our hosts went to the trouble of having some basic staples available for us when we arrived. The sleeping accommodations were very private, one bedroom upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. Catherine and Bruno were wonderful hosts as they were available on the premises with sightseeing advice if needed. We highly recommend this property.

Les Agapanthes was great!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this wonderful property just a stones through from the Marquis de Sade's old place in Lacoste. This house is beautiful and the pool is a good size. There is a court to play boccie (the French have another name for it) and an outdoor ping pong table. The gardens are beautiful and well cared for and full of lavender and of course agapanthes; the flower the property is named after. Our hosts, Bruno and Catherine could not be more helpful and gracious. The nearby town of Lacoste has two small restaurants that were quite good and the town across the valley, Bonnieux, also has some sites to visit and restaurants. The property is a modest drive to Arles, Avignon, the Pont du Gard, and lots more. We were very happy with our visit and our time with our hosts.

Wonderful self catering accommodation for 2 couples.

  • 5 of 5

We were 2 couples with a car and we stayed for 7 nights. The property was beautiful, with lovely views over the Castle and Valley. The location was great for exploring the small villages of the Luberon, which we did - and it was only a short walk to Lacoste where we were able to get coffee at a cafe overlooking the valley. The accommodation had 2 lovely bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one upstairs, one down. The kitchen/ living area were well equipped for self catering and the terrace was a great place to sit outside and admire the views, as was the pool area with its deck chairs and sun umbrella. We didn't make much use of the pool itself as the weather was beginning to cool down and we were out sightseeing a lot, but it would be wonderful when the days are hotter in summer. Our hosts were charming and unobtrusive but helpful when we made inquiries of them. We can thoroughly recommend Les Agapanthes. AND it has a washing machine which was a bonus for travellers like us (from overseas) that had been on the move for weeks!

Que des superlatifs !

  • 5 of 5

Lacoste, an authentic Provence town, is located at the Luberon Regional Park, 40 km away from Avignon and 1 hour away from Marseille or Aix-en-Provence. The nearest city is approximately 11 km away. The other beautiful Luberon villages are less than 10 km away (Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Gordes, Roussillon...).

You can go on several hiking or biking trips from Lacoste.

You can also go canoeing along the Sorgue (located 15 km away).

There are numerous music festivals that take place in the region: Orange and Aix-en-Provence (Opéra), La Roque d'Anthéron (piano), the Luberon Musicals, Lacoste, Gordes...

In July Avignon hosts the most important theatre festival in France for three weeks.

At L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (16 km), known as Luberon´s 'small Venice', you will find several second hand shops.

You will find a wide selection of simple and gourmet restaurants.

Each day of the week Luberon´s town organises a farmers market where you will find local fruits and vegetables, as well as artisans from the region.

For wine lovers, different cellars produce wines from Côtes du Luberon and Côtes du Ventoux.
