About Fiona Morton
As students we travelled round Germany and fell in love with The Mosel Valley and always had a dream of owning a house in the region. it is such a beautiful area with so much to do. We own the house with our family.
Fiona Morton purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Fiona Morton chose Moselkern
We wanted a contemporary family house that was spacious with lovely views from every window. We also wanted a place We could stay at where I did not always need a car to get around. it is ideal for a couple or family to rent.

Three plus bedrooms.
A very large living room and very adequate kitchen.
The balcony was a real nice bonus as well.
So peaceful in the evening with the brook running on the other side of the street.
Would recommend this place for sure.
Wifi didn't work but it made us enjoy the place even more.
Thanks Fiona !
SO Pleased do you liked the house. The wifi does work. One of the flexes at the back had been pulled out. It is working superbly.
Spacious house in great location
We stayed here for 6 nights with our 18 month old son. The house is very spacious with a great first floor living area(the bedrooms being on the ground floor). There is a large quality flat screen TV and comfortable sofas as well as a well equipped modern kitchen.
There are 3 bathrooms which although are slightly dated are clean and well kept with a powerful shower in the shower room.
Many tourist attractions are easily reachable by car and train including many castles and vineyards. We travelled to Koblenz and Cochem as well as a trip the the Nurburgring racing track.
We would recommend this accommodation although a small advisory is that there is a train line close by which is audible from the bedrooms during the night. This did not cause us a problem but may trouble light sleepers.
Thank you for your review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
Great house in a lovely setting
What can I say? Beautiful house. Well equipped, plenty of room, clean and in a lovely setting overlooking a stream. We are a family of 5, the three children are older teens. We all were very comfortable here, nice mornings enjoying breakfast on the balcony taking in the sound of the stream and mountain views. And relaxing evenings in the house playing games or deciphering some German TV. The house is set over 3 floors, lots of room and very cozy at the same time.
Moselkern itself is a quiet village right next to the Mosel, very picturesque and retiring, perfect for unwinding after a day's activity. The house is on the doorstep of one of the oldest preserved castles in Germany, Burg Eltz. If you drive to the car park from the house you'll have a 30 minute walk to get to it. Worth a visit taking in the tour.
Moselkern is within striking distance of many towns and cities. Cochem is about 20 minutes away by car on the river with more shops and restaurants and plenty of places to buy wine. We also took in Frankfurt, Koln and Koblenz. A fair bit of driving so set off early if you decide to do that. The cable car ride at Koblenz was enjoyable.
This was a lovely holiday for all of us, Germany was great but the house was the icing on the cake.
Fiona was very businesslike with the booking and very helpful in giving us the information we needed. I understand this is also her home and it shows. Good quality furnishings, well equipped and very clean. A great find.
Would I recommend? Certainly. Best property we've rented for a holiday!
Thank you for your review and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in Germany.
I was very pleased with the accommodation and living space. I was there with my family with 2 children and some friends. I whole place is so lovely and a very friendly family homely environment to stay. We were there for 14 days and enjoyed it very much. The location was also a very lovely and calming environment. I would recommend Brix House to anyone looking for somewhere homely and family like to stay.
Wonderful House in great location
Wonderful spacious clean house in beautiful location. We (wife, 2 children and myself) stayed for a week and were sorry not to be staying for longer.
The house has free wifi, a large sitting room, dining kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms The housekeeper was friendly as was the owner. The views from all the windows are spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend this villa.
Our spacious 200sq meters house is situated in heart of the traditional wine producing village of Moselkern , next to The Mosel river with views of Eltz River which flows past the house. The location is quiet and one of the most beautiful areas of the Mosel.
The village is on the banks of the Mosel. Moselkern is home to Burg Eltz which is the most famous German castle and a picture of the castle used to be printed on Deutsche Mark notes. Both the castle and village look as if they have escaped from a fairy story.
There are ancient timber framed cottages, narrow cobbled lanes and impressive vineyards.
From Moselkern you can explore the whole Mosel region from ancient Roman town of Trier to Koblenz where the Mosel meets the Rhine. An excellent train service and road network few minutes away , guarantee an easy access from and to all parts of Europe. There are countless tourist attractions, walking and cycle paths so you will never be bored.
The village is about 13 miles from the picturesque town of Cochem and about 20 miles from Koblenz. You can enjoy an interesting day trip to historic Burg Eltz Castle, Bernkastel Kues, Krov and many other places.
There is sailing , biking, swimming pools all within easy reach. You can stay at Moselkern with out a car as there is a station with a train which goes to all the stations along The Mosel,
There is free car parking in the village or outside the house.
