As students we travelled round Germany and fell in love with The Mosel Valley and always had a dream of owning a house in the region. it is such a beautiful area with so much to do. We own the house with our family.
Fiona Byerley England purchased this villa in 2013
We wanted a contemporary family house that was spacious with lovely views from every window. We also wanted a place We could stay at where I did not always need a car to get around. it is ideal for a couple or family to rent.
Mosel bike paths
Mosel Bad Cochem (out of door and indoor)
We stayed at Brix Haus for a week. We found the house to be very pleasant.
As we did not have a car we travelled by train to places all along the Mosel. We were delighted to stay in a place where it was not necessary to have a car. We are a mature couple who like walking. The house and area were very peaceful.

What can I say? Beautiful house. Well equipped, plenty of room, clean and in a lovely setting overlooking a stream. We are a family of 5, the three children are older teens. We all were very comfortable here, nice mornings enjoying breakfast on the balcony taking in the sound of the stream and mountain views. And relaxing evenings in the house playing games or deciphering some German TV. The house is set over 3 floors, lots of room and very cozy at the same time.
Moselkern itself is a quiet village right next to the Mosel, very picturesque and retiring, perfect for unwinding after a day's activity. The house is on the doorstep of one of the oldest preserved castles in Germany, Burg Eltz. If you drive to the car park from the house you'll have a 30 minute walk to get to it. Worth a visit taking in the tour.
Moselkern is within striking distance of many towns and cities. Cochem is about 20 minutes away by car on the river with more shops and restaurants and plenty of places to buy wine. We also took in Frankfurt, Koln and Koblenz. A fair bit of driving so set off early if you decide to do that. The cable car ride at Koblenz was enjoyable.
This was a lovely holiday for all of us, Germany was great but the house was the icing on the cake.
Fiona was very businesslike with the booking and very helpful in giving us the information we needed. I understand this is also her home and it shows. Good quality furnishings, well equipped and very clean. A great find.
Would I recommend? Certainly. Best property we've rented for a holiday!
I was very pleased with the accommodation and living space. I was there with my family with 2 children and some friends. I whole place is so lovely and a very friendly family homely environment to stay. We were there for 14 days and enjoyed it very much. The location was also a very lovely and calming environment. I would recommend Brix House to anyone looking for somewhere homely and family like to stay.
Wonderful spacious clean house in beautiful location. We (wife, 2 children and myself) stayed for a week and were sorry not to be staying for longer.
The house has free wifi, a large sitting room, dining kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms The housekeeper was friendly as was the owner. The views from all the windows are spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend this villa.
We spent a lovely week in Germany. The house was almost perfect : perfect cleaning, linen, size and situation. The owner was always nice and available to answer our questions regarding the organization. Two items were missing to my mind : a frying pan without scratches on the coating and a baking tray for the oven !
Overall a wonderful place to spend a week even if you are not German speaking :)
