About Isabelle Hellequin

Isabelle: I am in love with decoration so I wanted to transform this place into a cosy and generous place by using natural and fine material such as oak (in the kitchen, the cupboard shutters, the shutters and the doors from the inside are made with oak by the DJP company in Concarneau), glass (stone like doorknobs from the glass factory in Brehat), and clay (enameled tiles with Hermine decoration from Josse. I cannot forget the talented artist from Concarneau, Valerie le Roux who knows how to get inspiration from the sea to make her vases, dishes, bowls, table cloths, and dish cloths. I want to thank Michael Rannou for his beautiful photos.

Jean: my hometown is the Walled City. I am a professional masseur-physiotherapist. My passion is sailing boats. For the last three years, I have been busy restoring “Târâ”, a magnificent 52-year-old sailing boat made with wood that belonged to Professor Jacques Monod. My goal is not only to bring it back to its original state but also to correct some construction mistakes in order to allow it to go through its next 50 years. When I found some free time I finished the floor of the apartment. My wife wanted to decorate the house. Some of the photos and the objects on the walls belonged to her. Have a nice stay.

A lovely, well positioned property perfect for wandering out and exploring Concarneau

We were welcomed by Isabelle who was lovely, and very friendly and helpful. The property is beautifully located just opposite Les Halles (the covered market) which is open 7 days of the week and so convenient for buying the breakfast croissants and bread. Everything you need is provided in the apartment, even a couple of umbrellas (which came in very useful!). The beds are very comfortable, and the showers were lovely - such a change from the usual trickle in holiday rental property. The added bonus of a covered secure private garage is great. We wouldn't hesitate to recommmend friends to stay in this property, it really is a little gem and we loved it.

arrived about 7pm the day after boxing day , greeted by isabel who was lovely and very helpful the apartment is amazing ,location fantastic ,we recomend this apartment to anyone who wants the best location in a beautiful apartment thank you issabell jane walter janet cyril

Gorgeous apartment, perfect location

The property is in the heart of concarneau, no more than 10 mins walk from everything you would want to see including the old town, beaches, indoor and outdoor markets, bars and restaurants. Yet there is no problem with noise at all - the outdoor market set up immediately outside whilst we slept soundly! The apartment is really well appointed - we self-catered with some of the great produce from the markets and enjoyed the use of high tech appliances and quality cookware. The main bedroom is lovely, bed very comfy, shower brilliant. We didn't use the other bedroom but it looked great and we used the extra space to spread out. The secure parking was a great bonus - we were on a motorbike so could lock it up and have no concerns for the duration.

Isabelle is a great host - very friendly and welcoming and we really appreciated her flexibility on departure time and her patience with our attempts at speaking French!

Excellent !

Appartement cosy décoré avec amour et beaucoup de goût . Très propre. Objets de qualité. Mieux qu'un hotel quatre étoiles ( norme française). Isabelle, la propriétaire, est exquise, d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Literie de qualité. Emplacement idéal, juste en face de la ville close. Nombreux commerces et restaurants. Nous avons passé un très bon week end prolongé ! Merci Isabelle!

un petit nid douillet

l'accueil d'Isabelle est chaleureux et l'appartement est magnifiquement décoré et dispose de toutes les commodités avec une belle vue sur le port. Nous nous sommes sentis "comme à la maison", rien ne manquait. idéalement situé, à 2 mn à pieds de la ville clos, vous pouvez faire vos courses sans avoir à prendre la voiture, les halles sont juste en face et vous pourrez découvrir les spécialités de la région. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans de bonnes conditions, merci encore à Isabelle pour son accueil et à une prochaine fois.

Appartement très joli et confortable au centre ville de Concarneau

Cet appartement est idéalement placé, bénéficie d'un parking à proximité et est très très joliment décoré. On s'y sent bien, confortablement installé et, cerise sur le gâteau, la propriétaire, Isabelle, est absolument charmante. A recommander à 300% !

Heir to the fishing industry, Concarneau grew around its port. It was at first constructed on a small island, which was fast surrounded by forts (the very famous Ville Close, the Walled City). This coastal city expanded quickly with the cannery industry. If you go for a walk on the cliffs, you will be able to admire the fishing port and the sailing harbour as well as the fine sandy beaches and the small coves of this seaside resort. From the highway: Paris to Concarneau: 545 km - 6 hours, Rennes to Concarneau: 200 km – 2 hours and 15 minutes, Vannes to Concarneau: 106 km – 1 hour and 15 minutes, Brest to Concarneau: 92 km – 1 hour, Nantes to Concarneau: 220 km – 2 hours and 30 minutes. By train: there are round trips every day from to Paris to Rosporden (10 km away from Concarneau). There are 4 round trips per day from Paris to Quimper (30 km away from Concarneau) by TGV (high-speed train). The trip takes 4 hours and 15 minutes. A shuttle takes you every day from Quimper to Concarneau. There are direct trains from Lyon and Bordeaux. By water: access to the north of Brittany from Great Britain through the port of Roscoff (100 km away from Concarneau, 1 hour and 30 minutes). By plane: there is an airport in Quimper, Lorient or Brest. Paris is an hour flight away: there are 10 round trips per day. There are local markets on Mondays and Fridays.
