I recently stayed at Peaceful Valley Hideaway with 9 of my very good friends. I wish I could give this couple more than 5 stars! They were the most amazing renters! We originally were booked with Bearcat Mountain Lodge near this home. We ended up with more people than could fit into their cabin and started to look for places to hold our larger group. We stumbled upon the Peaceful Valley Hideaway website and loved that it held up to 23 people comfortably! When we contacted Henry about booking he gave us an even cheaper price than he quoted on the website because of the off-season. This price came in more than HALF of what the other place wanted to charge us. We couldn't believe our luck! We kept saying there has to be a catch, something about this place won't work out like we thought. So on March 23rd we left for Black, Mo thinking something was going to go wrong. The only thing that went wrong was how lost we all got trying to find the place. We assumed we were in the country but it turned out to be the DEEP country. This worried us at first but when we got to the cabin, we quickly realized how amazing it was to be this far into the country! The first night we had a bonfire and stared for hours at the number of stars we could all see. The next morning was one of the more beautiful sites i've ever seen! The home looked right over the pond and behind the pond are beautiful rolling hills. Not only was it more beautiful and peaceful than we expected but Henry and his wife were beyond hospitable. Anything you could possibly need, including forgotten items such as toothpaste or floss, was waiting for us when we arrived. There was even a sign on the pantry that said if you forgot anything come tell us, if we have it we will share! Also, because we all got lost one of the cars in our group ran out of gas just as they pulled into the driveway. Henry was more than willing to lend them the gas can and give them directions and advice on where to get gas. They even allowed us to check out late on Sunday, which gave us almost half a day in the beautiful sun on the pond, or playing in the woods, or playing with 2 of the most loveable dogs in the world! We were all upset that at the end of the weekend we had to drive back to civilization. Thanks to these two owners for giving us a chance to be twenty-somethings again! We have only been back 2 days and we are already planning another trip down in the fall!
