We are demanding people and spent a long time looking for the ideal abode in St-Malo.

We immediately fell in love with this wonderful flat.

Nestled in the heart of the fortified old town in a quiet area opening onto the superb tourist attractions in Saint-Malo and on the Emerald Coast, it made us fall head over heels.

We hope that share our love for water sports, the coastal paths, and all the marvels that await on the Emerald Coast.

Outstanding Modern Apartment in the Old City of St. Malo

This apartment is clean, newly furnished with up-to-date everything, and beautifully decorated. It would be comfortable for 2 couples or a family of 4-6, but my husband and I enjoyed the spaciousness for just us two. There are two bedrooms with beds not as large as American Kings and Queens, but otherwise great. There is one WC and two "bathrooms", one with a shower and one with a tub, which was challenging to enter and exit if you are short; a bath mat to reduce the slippery surface would be good. The tub would not work for someone with mobility issues. The same issue is true of the bar stools at the kitchen counter, the seats are very high. Finding the step stool in the second bedroom was helpful for a short person like me!

Located on one St. Malo's busiest shopping streets, the apartment is an oasis of calm and quiet, yet you are right in the center of the old town whenever you wish, and nothing is more than a ten-minute walk--over cobblestone streets--away in the "Intra-Muros." Bakeries, tea shops, grocery stores are even closer.

American travelers should note that the owners do not provide supplies that are always found in American-owned apartments: hand and bath soap and toilet paper. Everything else--dishes, cooking utensils, towels, is there, but a heads up about the other amenities would have been helpful before arriving, especially if you arrive on a Sunday or holiday when the nearby grocery is closed. In addition, there is a charge for all bed linens used and a charge for using the underground parking garage several blocks away. Getting in and out of the inner city in a car is quite challenging at first; getting in and out of the parking garage was challenging every time.

A guide to the "best restaurants" or "best things to do in St. Malo" in English would have been helpful, as well as a guide in English for operating the combo washer/dryer, but we made use of the information in French as best we could. Almost all shop/restaurant staff speak excellent English, and everyone was gracious and friendly.

This place looks just like the photos, and the local woman who assisted us with the move in-move out was also very helpful. St. Malo was a great place for a restful sea-side vacation, with a few side trips to Dinan, Dinard and Mont Ste. Michel.

Excellant well appointed appartment within the Walls

The apartment was near the Port St Vincent which gave easy access to the external car parks and all the necessary facilities, groceries, bakers and restaurants, were within a short walk from the front door. The enclosed garage was a blessing for us as our holiday included the weekend of 'Toussaint' and the city was extremely busy. The apartment was very comfortable for 5 adults, warm , cosy and quiet.

Madame D, who met us on arrival and on leaving, was most helpful and very pleasant.

All in all we had a very restful and pleasant holiday in St Malo and would highly recommend this delightful apartment to friends and family.

Toujours aussi bien

Cette semaine à cheval sur le 11 novembre nous a permis de découvrir St Malo en dehors de l'été. Les grands coefficients de marée sont impressionnant par le grand marnage, mais cette fois avec une mer calme. L'appartement est toujours aussi confortable et la nouvelle cuisine bien fonctionnelle. Nous y retournerons certainement.
