Our stay was wonderful. The apartment is in a wonderful location. It provided everything we could possibly want. I was surprised how quiet it was being just a few blocks from the Louvre and steps to lots of shops.
The beds were comfortable, towels plentiful, the place was impeccably clean, the living room was so nice to have to plan our day and then discuss our day after all of our exploring. It was great having the full kitchen and the washing machine.
Terry and Marie were quite responsive to our simple questions.
This was a great place to stay in Paris. Just a few blocks from the Louvre, you can easily walk to many of the main attractions. If you're not a walker, the Pyramids Metro stop is close by and the Paris Metro is a snap to use. My husband also took the bus a few times and thought it was easy. There is a convenient Monoprix is you like having dinners and breakfasts in since the kitchen is well-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Of course, wandering the streets in search of baked goods is also fun! Terry, the host, sends lots of pictures so you know exactly how to find the apartment and then how to get in. It's just up one easy flight of steps.
We'd definitely stay here again if we return to Paris!
We loved 10 Rue Sourdiere and have already recommended it to our friends. From the initial contact from our host, Terry Claude which included detailed information on how to get there, how to access the apartment and local facilities and attractions, we felt comfortable. The location could not have been better; only a few minutes walk to convenience stores, shops, loads of restaurants, the Tourist Information Centre, the Metro (two stations - we found Tuillieres most convenient) and the famous attractions of Le Lourve, Tuilieres Jardin, Musee d'Orsay (our favourite), the left bank, the Opera House and Hop-on-Hop-Off Bus; and a short walk longer to Place du Concorde and Champs Elysee. The apartment was on a quiet one-way street amid local Parisiennes so we felt like we experienced true Paris. Even watching the passing pedestrian traffic was fascinating. The hotel across the road also helped us get a taxi to the airport for our departure when we had no telephone.Only one of the recommended restaurants was disappointingly closed but we found others we liked. It is a pity that there are so many smokers in restaurants in Europe! We chose to eat inside mostly because smokers occupied the outdoor terraces. The apartment was clean and well appointed - coffee table books, more tourist information books, comfortable furniture, fittings, recharging power points and all the amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed and the pantry contained many necessities which we supplemented before leaving. This place was perfect for a Parisienne stay. THANK YOU!
Very convenient location to many Paris historical sites. Overall, very clean and we really appreciated the detailed instructions that Terry provided. It was perfect for our 4 day stay in Paris. The apartment wasn't air conditioned but there were 2 fans (unfortunately 1 didn't work). You needed the fan at night especially in one of the bedrooms because the window opened directly in front of the kitchen window of a neighboring apartment, which was a bit noisy. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed for our stay. There was no extra rolls of toilet paper and no spare light bulbs (1 burnt out). Within walking distance of many cafes, restaurants, and stores.
Mr Terry's apartment was wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
The apartment details- It was very comfortable for two couples with two separate bedrooms with double/queen sized beds. One of the bedrooms had a half bath attached. The shared full bathroom is larger with a tub/shower and toilet. Sheets, towels, toilet paper, and soap were provided. The kitchen has a fridge, oven, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker... anything that you could need. A washing machine is also present in the kitchen. The living room/dining room is very comfortable and overlooks a charming quiet street. Everything was clean and well cared for. Provided pictures on the website are accurate.
Location- Amazing! Very central in Paris and close to several metro stops. The location was perfect for us to explore all that Paris has to offer. We were able to easily walk to tons of sights. There are several nice boulangeries (bakeries) and a grocery store nearby. The location also makes for easy transportation to/from the airport with the RoissyBus, which drops you off at the Opera (850m or an 11 minute walk).
Mr. Terry went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could need. Excellent communication before our trip. He sent several detailed emails with information about getting to the apartment, how to find it, how to get in, so that there would be no confusion on arrival day. He met us at the apartment when we arrived to show us around and give a few tips while in Paris.
Had a great stay last November. Property is exactly as pictured on the web site. Roomy, comfortably furnished and perfectly located. Also well equipped with all necessary household and kitchen items. While close to all major sites in the city center, was situated on a quiet street in a more residential area. This allows for an escape from the crowds and noise of the city. Nice quiet plaza nearby with good choice of restaurants and grocery shopping. Owner was prompt and courteous in all communications and provided several great recommendations for nearby restaurants. Great way to get a (small) sense of what it would be like to be a resident in this amazing city. Definitely plan to return.
