The hosts were very nice, we felt at home. A house with a beautiful spirit, everything we needed was furnished and we really enjoyed dining in a countryside environment after visiting the charming but busy Annecy. Would go back gladly.
We were looking for something unique and we found it! The Mill is tucked away on a large leafy property in an urban area, close to facilities but away from the bustle. It has been tastefully renovated and decorated and our family of four was very comfortable. It is worth talking to Carla and her friendly family. They have helpful knowledge of the area as well as some interesting stories about the property's fascinating history. Free roaming ponies and a dance school add to the charm of The Mill. We couldn't have been happier!
The Bérards were friendly and accommodating hosts and the gîte was well equipped with large, airy rooms and a modern kitchen.
Ideally situated if you have a car and want to see the sights around the lake because there is parking on the property and easy access to the motorways.
There was quite a lot of activity the week we stayed because the children’s dance and theatre school on-site was staging outdoor performances but these added to the charm of the property, as did the two resident Shetland ponies.
Exploring the area, we were particularly impressed with Les Gorges du Fier and the Saturday morning market held in picturesque Thônes. The scenery was magnificent as we drove to La Montagne du Semnoz and did a 2 hour walk along the top with panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains and valleys.
It was really hot when we there so a swim at Bout du Lac was very welcome – and a lot less crowded than the beach at Talloires.
