With this home, you get easy access to town with the privacy and quiet of being near the end of a little traveled road; a combination that is challenging to find in the area. Situated on 12 acres, this home is a perfect mountain experience. While the convenience of town is only 7 miles down the road, you’ll feel like you’re a world away from civilization. A true sanctuary to soothe your soul.
Start your morning sipping coffee on the deck overlooking the Madison Valley as the rising sun warms your face. Spend your days hiking or biking in the surrounding hills, enjoying the call of mountain birds and the feel of the clean Montana air. In Southwest Montana, you choose your adventure — from zip lining, white water rafting, hiking, horseback riding or simply enjoying the quiet. All are nearby and we are happy to connect you with the right people to help you plan your perfect vacation.
Desire a visit to Yellowstone National Park? In about an hour's drive, you can be there taking in Old Faithful or walking among geysers and bison.
If you prefer something closer, enjoy exploring the wild, wild west ghost town of Virginia City; home of Calamity Jane. It's just a few miles away on the other side of the hill. Walk the old boardwalk streets, take a stagecoach ride to hear about the history, or browse the quaint shops. It's a fun way to spend the day and an easy drive from this vacation home.
This valley also hosts the Madison River; often named as the number one fly fishing river in North America. Beginning in Yellowstone National Park, the Madison River flows for more than 140 miles and offers an unparalleled blue ribbon fly fishing experience. And the closest access is only five miles away from the home. It's easy to drop your boat in or walk the shores and spend the day catching a variety of fish. If you prefer a guided trip, we are happy to connect you with a local guide.
The home itself offers three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms with a large open living space that spills onto a wrap around deck and back patio depending on whether you are seeking sun or shade. The home includes everything you need for a Montana vacation including games, books, and puzzles to enjoy as a family; birding books and binoculars to spot and identify the area wildlife; and peaceful views that extend for miles. Oh, and keep your eyes open for visiting deer, birds of prey, and even the occasional moose visitor!
At the end of the day, gather together to grill dinner and share tales of your adventures around the picnic table on the back patio. From there you can watch the sun set behind the hill, turning the mountains into a kaleidoscope of colors. As it dips below the horizon and the stars appear, marvel in the vastness of the night sky. Unmarred by city lights, it stretches for miles in every direction. Grab a blanket and a chair, and settle in, listening for the occasional hoot of a nearby owl or the unmistakeable swoosh of wings as the nighthawks dive in the sky. If you're lucky, you'll even catch sight of a shooting star.
