My husband and I moved to Cedar Key to wholesale farm raised clams in 1997. We work from home and enjoy the tranquil paradise of Cedar Key.
Lori Schleede purchased this apartment in 2003
We purchased this home, to use as a guest house as our home is a small cottage. We take pride in creating a warm, welcoming facility in which you will be comfortable for long or short term vacations. The views are of the downtown, marina area and barrier islands. Come enjoy all that Cedar Key has to offer in this charming community.
Once you arrive in Cedar Key, you can park your car and walk to most of the restaurants, bars and shops. You can fish from the public pier on Dock Street, just a block away, visit the historical society museum, library, grocery store, post office, atm, or public beach within a few minutes walk.
Owners helpful. Others in complex were nice and friendly.
Decent, clean. VERY uncomfortable bed and furniture. Don't plan on cooking. Kitchenette is only for making coffee and heating leftovers. Cedar Key is quaint old Florida, great if you have a boat but not much else to do. Go to Tony's for the clam chowder though. it's worth the trip.
Stayed several nights. Very nice apartment but it doesn't have a full kitchen. No problem because they're many good restaurants. Cedar Key very quiet. Like going back in time. Not a place for you if you are looking for a lot of evening action as even most restaurants close by 9.
The rental was just as depicted and actually larger than we thought. It was very clean, well kept and convenient. It is located in the center of Cedar Key and everything is within walking distance. A short walk takes you to a great view of the water and beautiful sunsets.
If you want a quiet place with wonderful outdoor activities available, this is the spot. Good seafood to boot.
This was a great place for us for 3 days. It was just around the bend to Dock St and all the action. Only about 2 blocks from the hotel with a nice restaurant. This condo was on the first floor with parking underneath and very helpful neighbors upstairs. We loved sitting on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine. The only con was that the "kitchen" was more like a hotel. The frig was very small and the sink was more like a bar sink. Having said that, it was only inconvient for breakfast. Most people don't come to Cedar Key to stay in the condo and cook. All-in-all, we would definitely come back.
Cedar Key offers a relaxed pace and 'old Florida' charm. A great getaway destination to enjoy locally farm raised clams and other fresh seafood.
