OVERVIEW: This property sits directly across the street from Middle Beach in Westbrook. Listen to the sound of the ocean as you sleep. Wake up to have coffee on the front porch and then walk less than 50 feet to put your beach chairs and umbrella in the sand for the day. Middle Beach is the essence of summer. Play on the beach, at low tide walk to Salt Island and explore or take your beach chairs onto the sandbar and watch the kids (of all ages) play ball or go crabbing. This house comfortably sleep 4 people but can squeeze 6 as long as people are willing to squeeze and have 2 people sleep on the same full-size futon couch/bed in the living room.
THE HOUSE: You must enter the house via a set of outside stairs. The second floor has two small bedrooms upstairs (1 queen bed and 2 twins). The stairs to the second floor are fairly steep and so the house is not recommended for children under 2 years old or adults with limited mobility.
FIRST FLOOR: The first floor has the bathroom, recently renovated kitchen with dishwasher, breakfast bar, living room and winterized porch. The kitchen has coffee maker, Nespresso machine (pods provided), dishwasher, toaster, microwave and stove/oven. The living room has a regular L-shaped couch and a full-size futon (up to two people may use the futon to sleep but please note that there are no curtains so this room is bright and does not have any privacy of a bedroom. Renters are not permitted to sleep on the L-shaped living room couch).
OUTSIDE: Small BBQ provided. The small front deck faces the water to maximize your sunrise and sunset enjoyment. The small back deck has a table, umbrella and chairs for outdoor dinning. There is a small grill in the back.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: Washer and dryer in basement. Air conditioning is only available in the master bedroom with the queen-size bed. In window fans are in the second bedroom and living room. The property comes with use of two paddle boards (release of liability required prior to use) and 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella and small cooler. Wifi and basic cable TV also provided.
CLEANING FEES: For stays longer than 8 nights, a weekly cleaning service is provided. The weekly cleaning service is $75 per week and includes a cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom, changing of the bed linens and towels and vacuuming and moping. The weekly cleaning fee is in addition to the $125 end-of-stay cleaning fee.
PARKING: There is room for two cars to park. You CANNOT park overnight across the street at the beach. If you need a third space- please ask well in advance and we can try to arrange it with a neighbor. A third space may be available for $20 per night of the reservation with prior approval.
PETS: A dog is permitted only with prior approval at $20 per night of your reservation. You must email us with a description of your dog (age, type, training) so that we can evaluate. Out of respect for future guests- dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture or beds. If you allow your dog onto the furniture you will lose your some or all of your $250 security deposit depending upon the level of cleaning required. No cats allowed due to allergies.
LONG-TERM RENTALS: Long-term rentals of 4 or more weeks considered at a discounted rate.
