Traditional Cotswold Secret Hideaway, Getaway, A place to regenerate

Bedrooms 2
Space 645 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom peaceful cosy Cottage

Enchanting 2 Bedroom Cottage

Robin's Cottage is a great hideaway where you will find peace and quiet. It is a perfect place to rejuvenate. Totally quiet, this little jewel of an old Cotswold stone house is hidden away in a village unspoiled by the twenty-first century. Walk down the passage into the charming walled garden, step inside the cosy cottage full of books, paintings and stories. Enter a secret- more peaceful - world. This warm little cottage takes you up in its arms and lets you relax, lets you forget about things for a while. Still a much-loved home it will embrace you and make you feel welcome at once.

A modern, well-equipped little kitchen and a living room (single sofa-bed) and dining area are on the ground floor with a cosy fireplace. A winding staircase takes you up to the master bedroom (double bed) and bathroom on the second floor, and then on up to the third floor, where there is a second bedroom (twin beds). The cottage lies in the heart of the Cotswolds, within easy reach of Chipping Norton, Hook Norton and Banbury, and not too far from Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Why Thesy Waldburg chose Swerford

I inherited this lovely cottage from my father David Mynett. He was a successful international Artist, cofounder of the Can Xenet School of painting and an Historian. He would balance his busy life by coming home to the cottage to regenerate and have time to study and relax. The cottage is a perfect place to getaway from everything. It is peaceful and quiet only the cooing of the pigeons brake the silence.

What makes this cottage unique

It really is a home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hello Thesy,

I just thought I'd drop you a line to say thank you, we had a fantastic time at your cottage. It's such a lovely place, I feel very relaxed and rested! :)

It's really a beautiful place. Your fathers library is incredible and his artwork is very inspiring.

Thanks again

Pretty and perfect for our trip

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house, we slept like babies and enjoyed its location, ease of access and the professional presentation.

We will be coming back. It's a rural retreat with a great fire and a quirky rustic charm.

Robins Cottage is a very pleasant cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Swerford, Cotswolds. We made an unforgettable trip to Oxford to see the Musical Kiss me Kate and the town. Afterwards we stayed three days in a marvellous environment. The house is amazing, especially if you like books about history and litterature. The rooms are very clean and comfortable for 5 persons. We enjoyed our stay in Swerford.

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is a wonderful place to stay for a few days, to relax, enjoy the countryside and have a quality time with the family. The facilities are perfect, in a very cozy cottage. The area is amazing, beautiful surroundings to do walks and nice towns to visit. The cottage has a lot of information about all the things you can do around. It's really worth the experience. Thank you Thesy for the help.

Lovely cottage !

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in Robins cottage. It's cosy, decorated with care and the garden is lovely. Especially when you have interest in history, you are on the right place. The library with approximately 1500 books is comprehensive ! And the paintings from Robin Mynett are great !

The srrroundings are beautiful. You can make many different walks. We visited also Oxford and Blenheim Palace, both recommended !

lovely, quiet, peaceful and marvellous!

  • 4 of 5

we found Swerford a beautiful little village , with wonderful acountryside and lovely surroundings. truly a hideaway from city stress this charming, beautiful cottage in fairy tale like landscape. The cottage is small, but it has all you need, tastefully furnished with a great fireplace and smart kitchen and bedrooms. a shower that can be attached to the wall would be the only thing I would add, but everything else is wonderful.

Idyllic & tranquil

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cosy cottage within a quiet, friendly & beautiful Oxfordshire village. It's a good spot for exploring the local countryside, whether by foot or by car. A gastronomic delight in the nearby pubs or the villages farm shop. I would definitely recommend this cottage & yet I don't want to in case it gets too popular & I can't visit again!
