The chalet is part of a small development in the heart of St Martin de Belleville, of 5 chalet apartments within Chalet Nant Giraud II, and was completed in 2012.
It is located on the second floor of the building with the layout over one floor. It has stunning sweeping views over the valley with a terrace that wraps around the living space. All the bedrooms have there own terrace.
We have finished the chalet using oak to give it a lighter modern feeling while still retaining the mountain feel.
There is 100 sq meters of living space plus 21 sq meters of terrace
There is a private cave, with plenty of storage room for skis and snowboards and boot warmers.
For the kids and the big kids there is a games room, pool room and gym.
I am half Dutch, half Australian but grew up mainly in Australia. I now live in London and come out to St Martin de Belleville as often as I can to enjoy the mountains.
Kaaren Callenbach purchased this apartment in 2012
I fell in love with the village of St Martin de Belleville about 8 years ago and decided it would be the perfect place to have a chalet. After many years looking and a view more years building it was finally finished in 2012.
The chalet is open plan living space with 180 degree views. It has been finished using oak beams rather than pine to give a lighter feel . I have tried to furnish it with all the home comforts that I enjoy after a days skiing or walking in the mountains.
Great new modern apartment with plenty of room for six people. Kitchen and facilities good. Boot/ski room was useful to dry things out. The apartment is fairly well placed but it is a bit of a slog to the drag lift with skis and boots, but most people would have a car and plenty of space in the carpark at the lift station and the apartment block. Good selection of small shops and restaurants, big supermarket on way up to resort for everything you may need. Pretty village, not your horrible sky scraper resort like many nearby, but great access to the vast ski area of the 3 valleys. Would I go back ? yes loved it.
Very clean and modern chalet. Great views. Underground parking. Walking distance to drag lift, restaurants and shops.
We had a great holiday and enjoyed the Chalet. It is at the bottom of the village and therefore a car is by far the best option. The walk up to the lift system in the morning would be a killer. The car park by the lift system is free and plenty of space early in the day. You can also drive up to Val Thorens and park for free next to the lower lifts.
We enjoyed playing pool in the games room though the equipment was a bit basic and there is not enough room. We would have played table tennis too but no bats or balls were provided (we were not advised to bring our own). The gym is well equipped for a private one.
The Chalet is well appointed, quiet (considering it is in a block) and well equipped though the flat screen TV could do with a better sound system! We also found the mattress covers on the beds made us very hot at night and would have preferred fully cotton sheets.....for a chalet of this quality we would have expected it. No shampoo, soap or toilet paper is provided, so bring your own.
These are little things that didn't spoil an excellent holiday. If you like the 3 Valleys and haven't yet stayed in St Martin, then do so! The village is charming and not overcrowded or rowdy. Good access to all areas if you are decent skiers.
Fantastic family holiday - myself, my husband and our 3 grown up children. Kaaren's apartment is a really lovely place to stay - on the edge of St Martin which is a very pretty traditional village with butchers/bakery etc. The local agents were extremely helpful - booking restaurants for us on the evening we arrived etc.
We would certainly return to ski here again. The perfect family Christmas.
Very nice appartment, tastefully furnished and very well equipped.
Recently built, with high quality standards, managed by an efficient team.
Saint Martin is a tiny village, very nice location for quiet vacation with the family, and with a very easy access to all the 3 Vallées area.
It is an 8 min walk to the 8 person gondola, followed by a rapid 4 person chair takes you to 2435 metres to the ridge between Meribel and the Belleville Valley. Giving you access to Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Meribel, Meribel Mottaret, La Tania, Brides-les-Bains, Orelle and Courcheval that you will have access to from St Martin.
t is a 1 minute drive to the free car park opposite the gondola or you it is a 10 minute walk.
For beginners there is a drag lift half between the chalet and the gondola. This is the nursery slope area that has a new magic carpet perfect for children or those just starting out.
The gondola gives access to beautiful beginners slopes overlooking the valley.
For the more adventurous, extensive off-piste skiing is available and heliskiing and guiding can be arranged locally.
One of the highlights of St Martin is the last run home at the end of the day – you can be sure that the slopes will be quiet, peaceful, and in much better condition than runs back to any of the other resorts.
