'De Hoedenmaker,' is an exceptional beautiful holiday house. It is located in the heart of Bruges. The facade is built in the traditional step-gable style that is typical of the finest Flemish houses. It is a charming and elegance house built in 1675. Located in the peaceful and quiet area of Saint Gilles quarter, about 400m north of the medieval port of the city and only a 10 minutes' walk to the Market Square and the Belfry tower. 'De Hoedenmaker' is a three-level house with a total of 110 square meters living area, completely renovated in 2003 and refurbisched in 2017.

The kitchen includes a full complement of cooking utensils and cutlery. One the 1st floor there are 2 separate bedrooms with a Queen bed in each. One of the Queens can be separated in two beds if necessary. On the 2nd floor, in connection with the master bedroom, there is a twin bed (full size single beds for adults). On the 1st floor there is a full bathroom and second toilet on the ground floor. Central heating. The house faces south and takes in plenty of sun year round. It also has a private walled-in terrrace and laundry room. In the living room you'll find cableTV, DVD, books, ... Fast WiFi is available for free.

Guests who want to visit Bruges will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the city. The house is situated in a very quiet historic part of Bruges. Wonderful place, excellent location.

Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable. We appreciated all of the maps and recommendations for places to go and tips for our visit. The house was perfect and just as described. I would highly recommend this rental. It was within walking to everything and also in a nice quiet area. Pascal and Greet are wonderful hosts.

Beyond excellant

Paschal was without doubt the most accommodating owner I have ever dealt with. He went above and beyond the typical owner's responsibility as a host. I hope we treated both he and his property as well. The property is extremely well maintained and convenient to live in, and well appointed. All of the appliances worked well. Having a half bath downstairs was very handy. The property is within walking distance of all of the typical tourist sites. There is a supermarket just a few blocks walk away, with everything needed for a long term stay. There is a restaurant just down the street. When I retrieved my auto from the train station parking lot, it was just a pleasant walk of fifteen-twenty minutes, with no twists and turns to confuse a person. The information book and tourist folders were much appreciated. The property itself is extremely well taken care of and very suitable for long term rental and handy not only to Brugge, but to the whole lowlands area. This was our second trip to Brugge and the property enhanced this very pleasant region. Thank you Paschal, for such a wonderful stay, and friendly manner. The Ashwoods

Delightful home, great location

We had a wonderful stay at De Hoedenmaker and would highly recommend it. Pascal made everything so easy from beginning to end -- easy to get in on arrival, all very clean, and after a brief meeting with Pascal, we had a list of stellar recommendations for places to eat and things to do in Bruges. The house is charming and cozy as described and in a great location with a short walk to the main square. It was quiet at night as well, so all slept quite comfortably. Thank you Pascal for helping make our visit to Bruges exceptional!

Chicago Area

Close to town, super comfortable, cute and quiet

We stayed here three nights with two teenagers. The house is in a quiet and cute neighborhood, very close to the city center. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable for four people. The third bedroom is a loft above the master, so perfect for children but I would not recommend for an extra couple. Pascal gives great local tips on where to eat and to get beer and chocolate. Bruges is a beautiful town, to avoid the crowds, just walk two streets away form the main streets, it will be as pretty but more quiet. We loved our dinner at ‘t Gezelleke on Carmerstraat. Make sure to take the Gouden-Handrei Canal on your way to the restaurant because cars are not allowed here this it is quiet and pretty. The restaurant has something for everybody but they also serve more authentic Belgian food and they have a few very good local beers. It has a nice local feel, not touristy even though many tourists seem to eat here. For chocolate: Pascal’s family owns a very good chocolate store next to the Burg Square and it is very reasonably priced. So highly recommend it. For very high quality and high prices! go to Pralinette in De Wollestraat. Also try the hot chocolate cappucino here, a nice experience. We also bought and tasted the best cookies ever next door at Juliette. Don’t skip this one if you are close by! We highly recommend this house! The location is perfect and the house very nice.

Marvellous place to stay!

One of the best rentals I have stayed at. The owner met us at the station and then spent a quarter of an hour when in the property explaining where all the most remarkable sights in Bruges were, before leaving us to enjoy a tremendous week. The property is spotless and very tastefully decorated and close to the centre. stay there again some day.
