Self-contained stables conversion in the small village of North Marston in rural Buckinghamshire. The cottage has one bedroom with en suite shower room. The living / dining area has two leather sofas, (of which one sofa-bed), 65' TV with surround sound, Sky TV, Freeview, Blu-Ray player, wood-burning stove. Wifi is available. There is a separate small but well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, kettle and plenty of crockery and cutlery. There is private off-road parking on the drive right next to the cottage.
The village has a local community shop, pub across the road from the cottage offering very decent food (winner of 'Best Community Pub' in the 2015-16 Aylesbury Vale Village Pub of the Year competition), children's play park, sports field with fitness trail, numerous countryside walks and cycle routes. Use of washing machine, tumble-dryer, barbecue, patio and garden. Secure bike storage available.
North Marston is a 20 minute drive from Leighton Buzzard from where trains take 35 minutes into London Euston, or 10 minutes from Aylesbury Vale Parkway with a one hour journey into Marylebone.
There are several National Trust properties within a 30 minute drive, including Waddesdon Manor, Stowe Landscape Gardens, Claydon House, Ashridge Estate.
The property is half an hour from Silverstone.
Our family moved to this village four years ago - and love the rural environment.
Rachel Butler purchased this cottage in 2010
The property has country-side views, easy access to walks and cycle routes and the property and village have all the essentials for a rural escape, including a shop if you want to self-cater or a pub if you prefer not to cook.
The 65' 3D TV with surround sound and Blu-Ray player means you do not need to leave the cottage for your entertainment if the weather deters you from going out!
We used the cottage as a base to visit National Trust and other attractions in the area. It was very well placed for this and we had an enjoyable time. The cottage and its facilities were in excellent condition and we are happy to recommend both the cottage and the area to others.
Loved the cottage - so beautifully fitted out, super cosy and welcoming, everything we needed and a pub that serves fantastic food across the road. Loved our stay and we'll be back!
The cottage was beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. It was beautifully clean and was equipped with everything that we needed for a relaxing break. Couldn't fault it and definitely be booking again.
had a lovely short break in the cottage, everything was provided that you may need, friendly owners, cottage was spotlessly clean, a lovely village location, pub just over the road, would certainly stay again
We stayed for three nights and really wish we could have stayed for more. Rachel and Pete were very friendly and approachable. Rachel gave us an initial tour of this lovely, clean and comfortable property. I was concerned of our late arrival but was assured it would not be a problem. We were warmly greeted by Rachel and Pete at 10 pm. The cottage had everything we needed to enhance out stay. We definitely hope to return.
We were looking for a weekend away, not too far from home, in the countryside. Rachel and Pete’s cottage fitted the bill perfectly with a great balance between rustic cottage charm and mod cons to make for a hassle free weekend.
From the start arrival instructions were clear and arrival at the property was great with easy parking, heating on, clean and tidy, and milk in the fridge. The cottage itself was lovely and the woodburning stove and living room set up was brilliant. The kitchen was well equipped and it was a nice touch with Tea, coffee, sugar etc. The area is very peaceful and we got 2 great night’s sleep.
The pub across the road (The Pilgrim) was really friendly and with a good selection of beers and we also visited The Crown in the next village as part of a walk on Saturday.
Rachel and Pete gave us privacy and space but it was great to know they were contactable if we had any issues.
Would highly recommend!
