Very comfortable and welcoming

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three nights and really wish we could have stayed for more. Rachel and Pete were very friendly and approachable. Rachel gave us an initial tour of this lovely, clean and comfortable property. I was concerned of our late arrival but was assured it would not be a problem. We were warmly greeted by Rachel and Pete at 10 pm. The cottage had everything we needed to enhance out stay. We definitely hope to return.

Lovely weekend getaway....

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a weekend away, not too far from home, in the countryside. Rachel and Pete’s cottage fitted the bill perfectly with a great balance between rustic cottage charm and mod cons to make for a hassle free weekend.

From the start arrival instructions were clear and arrival at the property was great with easy parking, heating on, clean and tidy, and milk in the fridge. The cottage itself was lovely and the woodburning stove and living room set up was brilliant. The kitchen was well equipped and it was a nice touch with Tea, coffee, sugar etc. The area is very peaceful and we got 2 great night’s sleep.

The pub across the road (The Pilgrim) was really friendly and with a good selection of beers and we also visited The Crown in the next village as part of a walk on Saturday.

Rachel and Pete gave us privacy and space but it was great to know they were contactable if we had any issues.

Would highly recommend!

Absolute Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I spent a lovely weekend here and we really didn't want to leave at the end!

The cottage is incredibly cosy and very relaxing. We had planned to go out during the day but curling up on the sofa in front of the wood burning stove was a much more enticing prospect! Everything is perfect and I can't recommend the cottage enough.

However, the cottage wouldn't be complete without the amazing hospitality of the owners. They take care of every single one of your needs in order to make your visit that extra special.

I will definitely be visiting again.

Perfect weekend away

  • 5 of 5

A lovely beautiful cottage! Perfect for a weekend away to escape all the craziness at home! Due to my partner being in the forces this was exactly what we needed to spend time together. The owners where lovely and welcoming. We did nothing all weekend the cottage had everything we needed. We will 100% returning one day! Maybe in the warmer seasons to sit in the beautiful garden and enjoy the BBQ!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We agree - with a pub that does good food and a shop in the village, it is the ideal place to do nothing! Everything you need for a few days is on your doorstep. Plenty of walks and National Trust places nearby if you do want to venture out too.

A delightful cottage in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have recently returned from a very pleasant week's holiday at Manor Farm Stables. The cottage, as ofher reviewers have stated, was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and Rachel and Pete were helpful and friendly hosts.

The village of North Marston, which has a long and fascinating history, is very well placed for excursions into the surrounding region. We visited Tring Zoological Museum, Waddesdon Manor, Stoke Bruernd Canal Museum and walked on the Ridgeway

Path. Nearby Quainton Hill is an excellent viewpoint, and even the railway bridge used in The Great Train Robbery is nearby!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
