Solitude, privacy and comfort - nothing wanting

  • 5 of 5

A long overdue solitary retreat, this proved to be just the right place.

Cosy, warm, quiet and simple, this had everything I was after. For five days I was able to shut the world out - bliss!

Tea bags, coffee and a pint of milk awaited me - very welcome. One of the hosts showed me where everything was. There was a booklet outlining clearly information from wifi codes to local walks from recycling to the village shop (more on that later!)

Comfy bed and pillows, the place was spotless throughout. For most of the time there was absolute silence. Once every couple of days (and a few times on the Saturday night) a car went racing by but beyond that, nothing. Crows, little scurrying creatures and wood pigeons were all I noticed.

When my wifi refused to work, the husband came swiftly and brought it back to life. Civil and efficient, he shared some fascinating history about the place.

For supplies, don't even consider going further than the village shop. Small it might be but the goods they cram in! Continental cheeses, exotic tinned items, meat from the farm across the road (do not miss out, the lamb fillet was first class) and frankly the finest meringues and mince pies (homemade) EVER!

The cottage was everything I hoped for and the hosts and the village wholly supported this feeling.

I’m not the easiest to please but I’m happy to say this cottage pulled it off: no mean feat!

A beautiful rural cottage run by a lovely couple set in idyllic surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week able to have the best of both worlds. Quite and rural with a superb pub just across the road and country walks. Also only an hour away from London and Windsor where we were lucky to see the Queen leaving for Ascot

Perfect little cottage

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at Manor Farm Stables.

Very well equipped to a high standard and spotlessly clean.

Cannot fault this place...we would have happily stayed forever!

The 63" surround sound TV/dvd went down a treat 🙉 and the cute little kitchen had everything we needed to cook a hearty breakfast with lovely countryside views.

Had 2 meals in the Pilgrim pub literally across the road - extremely friendly staff and amazing food....omg the food!!

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and relaxed hospitality Rachel, Peter and family. We had such a fantastic time and will definitely be returning soon. Hope your new little puppy Tommy has been behaving himself. We wanted to smuggle him into our suitcase!! Xx

Outstanding accommodation in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Really beautiful accommodation in a lovely rural setting. Attention to detail was second to none and the owners were on hand if there were any issues, of which there were none. Very modern and fantastically clean accommodation but still in keeping with a lovely cottage feel. Loved the log burning stove and a basket of logs was provided for us to use. Unfortunately the pub across the road was fully booked during our stay so look forward to trying it next time. Will definitely be returning.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review- we are glad you had a good time. I’m sorry you could not eat at the pub. They seem to be busier these days since they featured in the current Michelin Guide! (For future guests’ information- might be a good idea to book in advance if possible.) You are very welcome back any time. Best regards, Rachel
