Villa Casabella is a detached villa, ideally located to enjoy a family holiday. It has a large swimming pool (10 x 5 metres). This easily accomodates a family who want to enjoy water fun all together without taking it in turns. Around it, there are plenty of sun-beds and chairs for sunbathing. These are dotted all around the patios for your relaxation. For those who prefer the shade, the property incorporates an arched covered terrace that overlooks the pool. This is ideal for relaxation, reading a book, doing a crossword puzzle atc. It also has tables for dining, and will accomodate 8-10 people without a problem. There is a purpose built barbecue just waiting to be lit-up. Al fresco dining is the norm in this part of Spain, and visitors just love to barbecue at any time of day or night..

The villa has 3 double size bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes, bedside cabinets, draw units, shelves and mirrors. Two of the bedrooms have twin beds, and the master bedroom has a double bed. There are 2 bathrooms. The first is an en-suite with a shower cubicle, wash basin and a toilet. It has it's own vanity unit. The second has a bath with a shower, wash basin and toilet, and a bathroom cabinet).

In the lounge there are 2 settees, a coffee table and a flat screen television with many UK channels including ITV, BBC, and channels 4 and 5. There is also a DVD player for your use, and many books to be read. The villa has air conditioning throughout the bedrooms and lounge. The a/c units are dual function, and provide warm air during the cooler winter periods. There is also a gas fire for use during the winter-time. The villa has wi-fi installed for the use of holiday makers.

The kitchen amenities include a new cooker and hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle and toaster. There are ample cupboards and work surfaces, and a new kitchen sink and tap. When eating inside, meals can be served through the Spanish ‘archway’ to the dining room. This overlooks the pool, and is an ideal area for eating indoors.

However, in Spain most of the dining and socialising is ’al fresco’. So, use the terraces and garden, and enjoy your holiday, taking advantage of all the facilities. The covered terrace overlooking the pool also has it's own dining tables, and there are small tables on the pool terrace and on the front terrace where you can enjoy your drinks and snacks.

At Villa Casabella you should enjoy a relaxing holiday. At night, have a glass of wine as you chat in the garden terrace, or watch the world go by from the front terrace. this overlooks the front garden with it's many cacti, flowers and succulent plants.

There is off-road car parking space and a garage at the villa. There is also plenty of free allocated parking on the road itself..

About Richard & June Bullock

We purchased the property in 1990 so that we could enjoy holidays in the sun with our family and friends. The villa has been extended and extensively re-furbished over the years. The swimming pool was built by a Spanish 'pool specialist' in 1995. We wanted a large swimming pool because our family were all 'water babies'. Over the years, we have enjoyed many great holidays at Casabella.

Richard & June Bullock purchased this villa in 1990

Why Richard & June Bullock chose Alicante Area

We bought this property because we loved the location. Cala D'or was undeveloped in 1990, but we could see the great potential that it had. it was close to the sea, just 1 km to a small secluded beach with a 4* hotel nearby. We also saw that it was very convenient to get to Cala D'or. We could fly into Alicante airport, and know that we would be at our villa within 30 mins of leaving the airport. We loved the nearby fishing village El Campello, and this is now even more of an attraction with the superb marina, harbour, and picturesque promenade with it's many varied bars and restaurants.

What makes this villa unique

Villa Casabella is uniquely located with mountain views from the pool-side, and sea views from the front terrace. Cala D'or is a secluded small village. and yet it is well connected. it is just 500 metres 'as the crow flies' from the sea. It has a small sandy beach just 1 km away. It has just a few of its own select bars and restaurants, and a 4* hotel nearby. And, El Campello is just 7 mins away by car, with all the facilities of banks, shops, supermarkets, open market, restaurants and bars. It's beaches, promenade, marina and harbour are a pleasure to enjoy at any time of day or night, and the promenade restaurants and bars are some of the finest on the Costa Blanca. For those who like a livelier holiday with busy beaches and the bright lights of the disco, Benidorm is just 20 min's drive away. With a car, Cala D'or provides so much choice, that it is convenient to get to....but difficult to leave behind. And you never need to be out of contact with your family & friends because Villa CasaBella has wifi installed.

Spent 2 weeks here in January was not impressed, it seemed they were not prepared for a January let. We had 10 days without constant hot water hence cold showers. No aircon/heating in lounge had to use gas heater no good with a toddler. Shower in ensuite leaked hence musky smell in bedroom. Sofas in lounge one had 2 broken arms and throws were covering badly stained cushions . In our opinion this villa needs a re-vamp. Caretakers were helpful but were on holiday the 1st week of our holiday. Would not recommend this property .

Owner's Response: We are really sorry to receive this bad review, which sadly has been exacerbated by the Costa Blanca having the worst cold weather including snow and storms in over 100 years........while the guests were on holiday. Also, unfortunately, John & Lynn (caretakers) were away for the first week, and it was the first booking for the season. However, the guests should not have had these problems. It is a pity that they did not make contact with the caretakers or with us the owners about these issues sooner, since we would have immediately sorted out the hot water, shower and air con in the lounge. We had recently had a brand new water boiler fitted, and since we found out about these problems, they have already been sorted by a plumber and a/c - heating engineer. The a/c units in the bedrooms are brand new, but apparently the lounge a/c - heater needed re-gassing. We are unaware that one of the sofa's arms are broken. This is news to us and it was not reported during the guests stay. We will get them checked immediately. If so, it will be replaced, and we need to know how they have been broken. There is no excuse for badly stained cushions and they will be replaced. We are really sorry that the guest has had this bad experience. In the past year, we have installed a new dishwasher, new central heating units, new water boiler, and we can assure any future clients that these issues will be addressed immediately.

We have just enjoyed a relaxing holiday at villa Casa Bella. The area itself is urban with not a huge amount within walking distance. There's a couple of smaller shops to get basics and a bar in the nearby Spa.

The bus that's takes you to El Campello or the tram station is almost directly opposite the villa, don't be concerned with bus noise as when I say bus it's a mini bus.

We hired a car via a company in El Campello for the week very cheaply, if you ask John on arrival he will kindly take you there.

El Campello itself is a lovely Spanish coastal town, the harbour and beach are blue flag and there are plenty of bars and restaurants and larger grocery shopping shops.

If you're after more choice and something more lively Benidorm is a 20 min car drive and 30 mins via the tram. There's a large shopping area with a huge carrefore should you only want to shop once for the week (we shopped daily)

The villa itself is spacious, clean and well equipped. The outside space is quiet but a little overlooked on all sides. The pool is lovely although this time of year it was freezing so we didn't get as much use from it as we would have liked but with gorgeous beaches nearby it wasn't the end of the world.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are glad that you had a lovely time at Villa CasaBella and enjoyed all the facilities that we offer. Our private swimming pool is larger than most and is a feature that is usually thoroughly enjoyed during the summer months.......Like all the other local pools, it is not heated, and we agree that it is a bit cold in the winter. However, some guests do 'brave' the cold. We're also glad that you mentioned the local 'little' bus which is a good alternative for guests who do not want to hire a car.

Beautiful villa with large private pool

  • 5 of 5

Great family holiday in spacious clean villa with amazing large clear pool. As a family with 2 young children we had a fab holiday, home from home, with plenty of sunshine & breathtaking views of the sea & Benidorm in the distance. Lovely views of the mountains whilst having fun in the superb swimming pool. With a few bars within walking distance we enjoyed walking for meals & drinks in an evening. Local English bar served a delicious roast dinner on a Sunday. Small supermarket within walking distance for daily necessities. We chose to hire a car & really enjoyed driving to the town of Campello with gorgeous beach & array of bars & restaurants. This also had a larger supermarket. Really enjoyed our holiday & will definetly return again to this private villa. Will recommend to friends & family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this review. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday. Most families love the pool because it is large enough for them all to bathe and swim together. We also think that nearby El Campello is a beautiful coastal seaside town........... It would be great to see you all again at Villa Casabella.

Fantastic villa, superb swimming pool, great location

  • 5 of 5

Cass Bella is a lovely villa with all needs met. The swimming pool is fantastic in the sunshine all day. Location is great but a car is required. El Campello has the best beach with a huge number of places to eat. John and Lyn were very friendly and I would highly recommend using the meet and greet service they offer. Great area for having bbq's after a long day in the sun. Would not hesitate to return

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. We ourselves also like to spend many days around the pool, reading a book, having a dip.....and then barbecue at the end of the day. If there are just the two of us, we also like a glass of wine at night on the front terrace......watching the world go by. We agree that John & Lynn are friendly & helpful........We appreciate all your comments and would welcome your return.

Beautiful Views

  • 3 of 5

The property itself was lovely to look at, with Amazing views of Benidorm at the front porch. The bar at the top of the road is not much to look at but the people and the food are AMAZING! They were so accomodating...the food is home cooked and is presented beautifully (they also do takeaways). A car is really a must, but the bus and tram are right on your door step....but it would be easier to do the shopping with a car, as the best food shops are in Campello .Also if you go to El Campello in the evening its really hard to get a taxi back if you stay out later than 11.. I would warn people that my daughters hair went green and so did my husband and brother in laws grey chest hair....also our swimwear was ruined by the chloride (anything with white went green) we had to throw them away on our return home. There were tiles missing in the pool, and the general hygiene of the pool was not good, i had to get a scourer and clean above the water line as it was green.. there was also green all down the walls in the deep end, regardless of the heat we have never experienced this in any of our other villa holidays. The water level when we left had gone down at least 3 tiles, this should have been maintained more than it was!! ..Lynne and john were lovely people, very and friendly. Unfortunately i would not recommend this villa to friends or family. .the outside furniture was basic with only 4 proper loungers ( in a 6 bed villa, there should be 6 loungers) and one umbrella, the 2 other chair loungers had ill fitting covers...and the bedding was old fashioned and the sheets did not fit the beds properly as they were to big for the mattresses...its all small things, but they do make a difference. Also the dishwasher did not work, dispite someone coming to try a fix it..We had not planned on washing up for 2 weeks hence booking a villa with a dishwasher!! More care should be given especially when problems were pointed out. We did meet some lovely locals and dispite our disapointment with things, we did have a fun.

Owner's Response: As owners of the villa, we are deeply saddened by this review. We have never had such a bad report, and sadly these holiday makers did not explain their dissatisfaction to John & Lynn who look after our villa, while they were on holiday. They also booked the holiday for 5 adults only but there were 6 people in the party. They recently emailed me and reported, that despite the problems, they had a good holiday.....and ended their email with.... "Rant over." The problems reported about the pool give us the greatest concern. However, they are somewhat unfair. We have never had such a report. The pool is regularly maintained. However, the most difficult circumstances in which to maintain the correct chemical balance of the water is during the very high temperatures of August, together with it's high usage with sun-creams applied. in any pool, these conditions will cause scum and cloudy water, a break-down of the chemicals, and then it will cause the water to turn green. This is why there are notices around asking guests to shower each time before they enter the pool. John impresses the need for showering when our guests arrive. He did so with these guests. However, on this occasion, the 6 guests continued to use the pool with sun-creams applied and without taking pre-showers. This was the cause of the problems. Once any pool starts to go like this, a higher dosage of chlorine chemicals has to be used to bring it back to the correct clear water condition. It is better not to use the pool during this time. I must re-state that this has not occurred before and it was due to constant misuse of the pool. John is locally considered to be quite an expert in pool maintenance, and he insists that this was the cause of the problems. Also, he was not notified soon enough that the problems had started. There are a few tiles missing that will be replaced once the season is finished. it is difficult to replace them (under water) during the season. With regards to the loungers, there are others in stock that could have been used if requested & the review makes no mention of the garden tables and chairs, or the large table and chairs in the terrace. The dishwasher was previously OK. It was repaired, and we have given instructions to purchase a new one if there is a re-occurence of the problem. This is the first time that we have heard that the bed-linen is not fitting. We'll review this with Lynn. We care about our villa, and we will make improvements as required.

Villa Casabella is found on Orihuela Avenue, Cala D’or, in the region of El Campello. The road leads onto the main coast road N332 that goes into El Campello then on to the A70 motorway. Both roads run the length of the Costa Blanca.

The main towns Benidorm and Alicante are both about 20 mins away by car. Villa Casabella is located about 500 metres from the sea, with a small sandy beach about 1 km away. There are also large sandy beaches nearby at El Campello, Villajoyosa and San Juan. These Spanish towns all have supermarkets and are good places for shopping.

Casabella is easy to reach. Take flights into Alicante Airport, hire a car, and drive to Cala D’or along the A70 motorway. This is a 25 mins drive. Buses and taxis are also readily available from the airport.

Cala D'Or itself is traditionally Spanish. It is a totally unspoilt, select urbanisation in a beautiful green valley, and close to the sea. Surrounded by hills, it is both picturesque and peaceful. It has a village atmosphere with some good local facilities, including a few bars, restaurants and small supermarket. It's laid back & peaceful but not remote.

There are many interesting places to visit nearby. El Campello and Villajoyosa both have open markets. El Campello is a small fishing town. It has a long stretch of sandy beaches, a great harbour and marina, and a picturesque promenade with many terraces, shops, little bars, and restaurants where fresh sea food is served.

About 1 km away from Villa Casabella is the regular Tram from Alicante to Denia. You can visit different local markets, relax on the endless beaches, or visit the spectacular Theme Parks “Terra Mitica”and “Terra Natura”. There are many more places of interest just a short distance away. In the area around there are five 18 holes golf course.

Benidorm is a ‘must’ for children with: Aqualandia Water Park, and Mundomar (Sea World), as well as many other attractions .

The beautiful Jalon Valley is not too far away. Here, grapes are grown, & the local vineyards and ‘bodegas’ will be pleased for you to taste their wines. And don’t forget, dining out at the local restaurants can be very cheap. A ‘menu del dia’ meal will cost between 10 Euro and 18 Euro per person for a 3 course meal with bread and a drink of your choice …including wine.

Villa Casabella is conveniently placed for those who wish to explore the many Costa Blanca places of interest. The local bus service stops every hour at Cala D’or, and it links with the modern Tram-train that travels all along the coast.

The caves of Canalobre are well worth seeing. As you travel through the picturesque mountain village Busot, stop and fill-up your water bottles from the mountain stream taps of water in the centre. The caves are just 20 mins away by car.
