Great for large group
We had a large group and it fit us all well.
Everything was great!
Clean with plenty or room!
Come back see us again soon!
Property is as unique as described. It was very convenient to City Market as well.
The owners were very responsive to questions. The house was clean and accommodated 8 adults very nicely.
Come back and see us again soon.
Home needs some work and cleanup.
Home was not as clean as it should have been when we stayed. Toilets not cleaned and lots of other small things. Gate to back in disrepair and you have to get out of car every time you pull in or out or you have to park on street. Front door long doesn't work right. Back door barely opens and scrapes on the floor. Missing blind in living room. Hanging beds are not as fun as they sound. Very hard to get used to as every time you move they keep swinging. I kept waking up my wife. There were loud bangs in the neighborhood that we are sure were gunshots and the police were next door. This neighborhood looks awesome at a glance but is definitely somewhat sketchy. We were told there were plenty of towels for the group of 12 but there were only 7 or so. Yard is not well maintained with overgrown weeds and vegetation. All outside chairs were dirty. I would not recommend.
Jeff: why didn't you communicate these issues to us when you were there? I tried my best to accommodate your many needs, including you bringing a large dog to the house, request to check in early and check out late. The issues with towels cannot possibly be true, we have plenty of towels and in fact we have more than 30 towels in the house (two sets) with one set out and one set in closet, if you called me I would have gladly point out which closet it is in if your need extra towels. We also had washer and dryer on 2nd floor if you needed to wash them. Our flying bed is definitely unique.. but you had choice of a regular bed upstairs and 5 different sofa beds in various rooms that are not swinging. Our fence door for backyard does not open by itself, but it's a nice place to park your cars in paved backyard that's all fenced in and right next to the backdoor.
In fact, the first message I got from you after checking in was quote "The house looks great!". and "Thanks so much for your fast replies and flexibility". I feel that I tried everything to accommodate you and group but still got this bad review undeservedly.
My partner wanted to say that some people are just unhappy in general and nothing makes them happy no matter how hard you try. They will nit pick and find issues no matter what.
I don't know if you are like that always, but I really have tried hard to please you and your large group of folks. I am committed to do that for every guest who come to our house.
A couple of negatives but many positives
We stayed at the Flying Bed house in mid July. There were six of us in our group and we needed five bedrooms. Finding accommodations with that many bedrooms is a challenge. I wasn't sure about the flying beds but since we needed the space I went with it. One elderly person in our group couldn't manage the beds due to balance issues so for sleeping she opted for one of the sofas, which was fine.
There were a few negatives but many positives. First the negatives:The only coffee maker in the house was a miniature 4 cup model. I contacted Harry asking about a larger coffee pot. He responded immediately and brought a brand new 12 cup coffee maker and a container of coffee to compensate. I pointed out to him the house, specifically the floors should be cleaner and the shower mats didn't appear to have been washed prior to our visit. He apologized and said this was a isolated incident and they would be careful that it wouldn't happen again.
Positives: We LOVED the front porch. There was sufficient porch furniture so that we could all sit on the front porch every evening after we got back from the days sightseeing with our cocktails and converse. We also enjoyed watching the people playing on the disk course across the street. The house was very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. A convenient location is such a plus so that you don't waste a lot of your day driving. Also the yard is totally fenced with a locked gate in back so we could park our vehicles inside the fence thus avoiding parking parking on the street. Any time I contacted Harry with a question or concern he responded immediately and was very courteous and helpful. That is a real positive!
Thank you Cathy for staying with us. I hope you enjoyed the big coffee pot and coffee! You and friends are always welcome at our house! Thanks for pointing the issues to us, we will work hard on them to improve for future guests. We appreciate you!
Good for a large group
Great house for a large group! Beds took a little while to get used to. The house was very nice and in a great location.
The flying beds are fun and adventurous... it feels like floating weightless in space when you are sleeping. Many of our guests rave about these beds and they tell us it's the highlight of their trip.
But we understand it's not for everyone. We do have a regular full size bed in one of the bedrooms and throughout the house we have 5 pullout sofa beds that are all grounded and sleep like normal beds. I hope you were able to use one of those beds.
