Loved our stay at this property! Amazing location - I loved watching the color of the sky and the water change throughout the day. Low tide revealed tide pools at the back of the house, and my son had a blast checking out the starfish, anemones, crabs and sea snails. The place was stocked with everything we could have needed. Can't wait to come back.
Perfect getaway spot! Stunning views!
My two girlfriends and I absolutely LOVED our stay here. We actually spent most of our trip a the house, either luxuriating in the hot tub or talking about life while sitting on the deck with either a coffee or a cocktail, depending on the hour. We couldn't have imagined a better place and we actually preferred it to being out.
I will say that whoever sleeps upstairs instead of on the pullout is having a far superior experience, in my opinion. We remedied this inequity by having two of us take turns. If I were a group of 4, I would either do the same thing or have the pair that wants to sleep upstairs pay a bit more- it's that stunning upstairs. However, for the record the pullout bed is not uncomfortable. And our host made sure we were good on bedding.
Another thing that amazed me was how well stocked the place was for a vacation rental. We brought our own ice and hot sauce since we didn't know, and really we didn't need to bring any of that. They had coffee, tea, condiments... I've been to my share of vacation homes and this was perhaps the best of them all.
Lovely cottage over the water
If you have never fallen asleep to the sounds of tiny waves lapping under you, I highly recommend it. And the view! Every morning, we woke up to egrets and loons starting their days. The location is great, close to Hog Island, the Marshall Store, and a short drive to downtown Point Reyes. The cottage was clean, stocked with towels, kitchen and coffee supplies, and shampoo/body wash/etc.
The hot tub has 1 temperature setting, but it was plenty warm enough to be able to hang out outside even when temperatures were in the 50s. Our hosts left a very thoughtful, thorough binder full of advice. Perfect escape for a weekend getaway.
Great place, but not so hot tub this time
We love this place. We have been coming here for years. We look forward to the hot tub, but this time it wasn't working. It was as cold as the Bay on arrival which means that someone had not checked it to ensure it was warm and operating before we came.
Thanks for your patience with this hot tub issue during your stay. We did check the house the day before your arrival, as we always check the houses before our guests arrive. Unfortunately there was an electrical issue with the hot tub in the early hours of the morning before your arrival, which was caused by the storm. When you contacted us about the issue, we responded immediately and our handyman went straight over there, but unfortunately he was unable to solve the issue, as it needed a hot tub specialist. We have since repaired it and now have the hot tub on a weekly inspection and maintenance schedule with a professional hot tub service.
Hopefully the refund we gave you made up for the inconvenience you experienced.

Beautiful peaceful escape!!
Great little cottage right in the water but near enough to some great restaurants and plenty of outdoor activities. We had a great time!!
The house is lovely, very simple and the view can't be beat. The drawback for us was that I arrived with groceries and plans to cook and bake and discovered that there is a convection microwave only. The kitchen oven does not work. This may not be a problem for most people, but for cooks it's a problem. I also wish that there was a screen blocking the hot tub from the view of the next door neighbor's house. The ladder/stairs up to the one bedroom might be challenging for some to navigate. These are small complaints, though, the place is beautiful and the management company was responsive.
Located just 1/2 mile South of Nick's Cove and 1 mile North of Hog Island Oyster Co.
Bring your kayaks or SUP and launch right from your private beach. Or bring your fishing pole and fish for halibut or perch from the deck!
