Views of the Salish Sea and amazing sunsets. Otters, California sea lions, seals and bald eagles are just some of the wildlife you can watch with Humpback Whales and Orca as well. This cottage is also warm and wonderful in the winter months watchingthe waves crash and dramatic skies.
This heritage cottage sits about 40 feet above the water offering unobstructed views. There is a full size BBQ on the deck for guest usage, along with utensils.
Berry Point Rd comes to a dead end at the most spectacular view point of the light house, the mainland and of course the sunsets. Few cars go by and so it is quiet and peaceful. We are about 7 minutes from the village by car at the north end of the island.
If you are travelling from the mainland by ferry make sure to buy an Experience Card. You have to pre-load it with $115 but you will use this for the trip and it will give you a 40% discount on the ferry to Gabriola, which is worth about $20.
For those walking over by ferry you can get a taxi or the local bus named Gertie who meets the ferries.
This cabin has wood beams and wood burning stove. It is fully equipped for a family to stay with TV and DVD player but not connected to cable. Cozy in winter, with a huge deck, swing seat and fantastic views. This property sits facing north west and so in the summer months the sun sets directly in front and can be viewed with an unobstructed view across the water. In al and winter the sun sets earlier and more to the left of the view, but then we have California Sea Lions to watch and Orca and Humpback whales when thy are in the area. Bald Eagles fish from and frequent the area also.
A second cottage ("Sage Cottage") on this property is sometimes available for simultaneous booking, so two groups could book together.
