Great location, lovely home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and the location was great! We had a wonderful stay. Mount Kineo was less than 1.5 miles away and could easily be reached by kayak, which I did! The owners provided two kayaks and four bicycles. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking and eating utensils. Waking up in the mornings with the windows open in the master bedroom was just lovely. "Couldn't ask for anything better. The piano was a plus! We built a bonfire on most nights and enjoyed gazing at the stars. There were a lot of board games for entertainment. The US/Canada border was only a 45 minute drive. The owners, Alan and Cary, are very lovely and caring people. Although we have not met them, but we had texted each other and their response were always extremely quick. I would gladly recommend this house to anyone. My family built memories that will last us a lifetime..

Great house, beautiful lake!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time, house was awesome, lake is beautiful, we enjoyed sitting on the dock, kayaking, hiking Baxter State park (2 1/2 hr drive but well worth it!!) and most of all our evening drives looking for moose which we had the pleasure of seeing 2!! One female and 1 bull moose!!! We saw the bull moose walking by the marina at the end of the road.

Very Nice Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Property was just as described and had everything you needed. Gorgeous home! Owner was friendly and communicated well. House is on a dead end street and is in private location. If you have kids just make sure you bring a tablet or laptop to watch some type of movie off of for those rainy days. No complaints.

This is an absolutely amazing experience !!!!

  • 5 of 5

Loggers' Run Lodge, on Moosehead Lake in Rockwood is a great place to take a multi-generational family!

The views are absolutely stunning, and here you are able to commune with nature.

The property is beautifully maintained, and the host is in contact to make sure your needs are met!

Children loved seeing the wildlife -- dear, fox, ducks ... listening to the loons. They loved the lake experience, and Mount Kineo and all its charms (including a sandy beach and a nine-hole golf course) is just a short boat ride away, with shuttles leaving on the half hour from Rockwood Village.

We hope to return to this spot very soon!

Fantastic Home with Matching Views

  • 5 of 5

My family spent an amazing week at Loggers' Run. The home provides luxury in a spectacular setting. The views of the lake and Mount Kineo are terrific. Loggers' Run provides all of the creature comforts of home and so much more. We were left with nothing to want. The homeowner, Alan Cartwright, is a true gentlemen who was so attentive to any questions asked of him. No question was trivial and his response time was extremely prompt. He truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome both in his home and into the great state of Maine. This was our family's first visit to Maine and we will be sure to be back and will certainly call upon Loggers' Run for our return stay. If you're looking to get away from it all without foregoing the comforts of home then look no farther. We can't wait to come back!!

Car: not necessary

Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in New England. Explore its 550 miles of shoreline in a boat, kayak or snowmobile. Fish the lake year-round for salmon & lake trout or fly fish in the near by streams. Shuttle from Rockwood to Mt. Kineo, ride on the historic steamship Katahdin. Aerial tour in a float plane. Have fun on a moose safari, white water raft, water ski, swim, mountain bike, shop, snowmobile, cross country ski, downhill ski at nearby Big Squaw Mountain ski resort or spot deer and moose! Hiking trails range from easy to challenging. Golf courses include Mt. Kineo & Squaw Mountain. The Gulf Hagas (Grand Canyon of Maine) and Canada are both great day trips. Fall is exquisite at the Blue Ridge, and in winter, with the lake frozen, snowmobiling is a great way to explore this winter paradise.

Other Activities: boating, golfing, snowmobiling

Ski: Cross Country skiing and just minutes from Big Moose Mountain (Squaw Mountain).
