About Stay Duvet
I love traveling, my family, my dog, green tea, coffee, sushi, making music, nutrition, reading, meeting new people, and living life to the fullest. I work for Yelp and put on public events in Charleston. I've lived in Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; Jupiter, FL; Chattanooga, TN; New Haven, CT; Athens, GA; and now I live in Charleston, SC and NEVER want to leave. I live by the motto "Leave nothing behind but good will". I'm a big believer in karma and care about quality control in what I do. I hope to not only be a good host, but your friend and guide (if needed) during your stay here in the best city in America :) I want you to also see whats good in the locals eyes and not just what is marketed to the tourists.
What makes this House unique
Guests will have access to the whole home and will have all the essentials you would need during your stay. You can pull your cars off the street and in a parking lot behind the home, which makes packing and unpacking a breeze. Three spaces are provided.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
Plenty of space
It is not an easy walk to downtown as the description says so you will have to Uber to most places.. The stove did not work which was frustrating. Other than that it was a great stay.
Thank you for this helpful feedback Ilene. I am sorry you were not completely satisfied with the location. Walking all the way to the waterfront in the Charleston heat can certainly be rather unbearable sometimes but there is an awesome Bike Share station called Holy Spokes which is very close to the home where bikes can be rented by the hour or daily. As you mentioned Ubers are a great alternative and with so many around they are easy to find and a very inexpensive way to get around. I understand our 24/7 concierge was able to resolve your issue with the primary stove. Fortunately, the home is outfitted with two kitchens along with a brand new grill so there is always a back-up ; ) Thank you again for staying with us, it was a pleasure hosting you!
Stayed here in late May with a group of 15 for a Bachelor party. House fit everyone perfectly - everyone had their own bed (a few had to share Kings). House was very clean and great layout for accommodating our big group. One night we grilled in the backyard / patio , which I would recommend. Easy 10 minute walk to King Street. StayDuvet texted us 2-3x during our stay asking if we needed anything. All in all, great trip and would recommend this house.
Large Group at The Grand
I had a large group visiting Charleston for a few days, and rented both The Grand and The Elm houses from Stay Duvet. Both houses were in perfect condition when we arrived, and Stay Duvet was more than helpful with this group, getting us early access to both properties.
The Grand specifically is a gorgeous property. It has a great courtyard, plenty of bedding, more than enough bathrooms and showers, and is close to some great spots in Charleston. I strongly recommend this property if you have a large group in Charleston.
nice place for a large group to stay when visiting Charleston
The location is really good for visiting downtown Charleston. The bedrooms and kitchen were well done, and very comfortable. The only regret we had about our stay was the lack of HD television. The night our group arrived, we had made plans to watch a college football game in the living room. However, we could not get the TV to operate. Once we started digging into it, we discovered the cable box was not even hooked up to the correct outlet coming out of the wall, plus the coaxial from the cable box to the TV set was missing. We took one off of another TV in the house to complete the hookup. And even then, to get the picture to appear, it was necessary to jiggle the connection coming from the wall ... and even then the picture would go off occasionally until we messed with the outlet again. And then after all that, it was disappointing having the game broadcast in standard definition.
Perfect house for large groups
Owners were very helpful answering all my questions. The house is walking distance to lots of great restaurants, bars, yoga studios and shops. It was the perfect house for my sisters bachelorette party. Highly recommended!
Great for a group
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
This was a perfect location for our group that required 8 bedrooms. The house was very clean and neat.
The house is located in the heart of the charming and trendy Cannonborough/Elliotborough district of downtown Charleston. With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree-lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include The Grocery, Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Ice Bing, Goulette, Five Loaves café, R Kitchen, Poke San, Pink Cactus, and the Warehouse for drinks. Our guests and neighbors also rave about Brown's Court Bakery and Sugar Bakery located nearby. We recommend going to 132 Spring or Babas for a cup of locally-roasted coffee and their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as buzzing restaurants. Publix conveniently located nearby on Lockwood Drive as well.
