About the property

Plan your next family reunion in the beautiful Centennial Valley where you can easily connect with eachother as you enjoy the outdoors together!

This is a combined listing which features two of our rental properties to be rented as a single unit in order to accomodate a larger group. The two properties sit about ten minutes apart by dirt road and offer privacy for individual families, but proximity for shared activities and experiences.

In total, the two properties can accomodate 15 in beds and up to 23 when using the 5 sofa beds. Most of the beds can be separated as two twins or combined to form a single king. Most rooms have private baths, and one features an outdoor shower! Both properties have fully stocked kitchens and gas BBQ grills available for use so you will feel right at home as you prepare family meals together. You may inquire about using our communal dining hall, purchasing our grassfed beef, or hiring a local private chef if you wish.

The Smith house is a three-story, three-bedroom home that sits at the west end of our ranch property. It has a great lawn and outdoor deck and is convenient for assembling for a scenic drive or day of guided fishing on the Beaverhead River.

The Brundage cabins are our collection of restored homestead cabins a little further east near our ranch headquarters. They provide a great option for breaking down smaller family groups by cabin, and offer a more secluded, off-the-grid experience. It is the perfect place to gather for day hikes up the hill behind and evening stargazing around the fire pit (when permitted).

Our ranch headquarters sits directly between the two properties, so families can assemble to enjoy an evening in the hot tub or meet our on-site hiking guide for a day of picking wildflowers or enjoying the birds at the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

Feel free to reach out to the guest manager to leard more about the experience the rental of these two properties will allow you and your family!

Area Activities

There is plenty to do in the Centennial Valley--hiking, biking, going for scenic drives, etc. We have a number of established relationships for guided hiking, horseback riding, fishing, birding experiences--just let us know and we will put you in touch with them. We are also happy to point you toward our favorite trailheads or swimming holes for self-guided experiences. We even have an in-house masseuse available to help you recover from those long days of exploring the backcountry.

Meals at the J Bar L are best enjoyed surrounded by loved ones and taking in the views from the back porch. Our Yellowstone Grassfed Beef from here on the ranch is available for purchase. Some groups do chose to hire a private chef or make the excursion into town. The closest options are:

* Elk Lake Resort--located here in the valley they offer a bar, a good steak and home-cooked sides. It is perfect for date night and requires reservations.

* The Peat Bar--located about an hour away, the Peat offers local flavor with their grill your own steaks and colorful patrons.
