My family of 4 stayed here for three nights in late June 2016. The house is beautifully restored and very comfortable with a large private back yard. It's about a block off the highway and surrounded by other old homes, large gardens and pastures, and a wooded hillside. It's a 10 minute walk to a small private beach and there are good places to eat in Esteiro and Muros. The long, beautiful and uncrowded beach at Carnota is just a 30 minute drive away (take a sun umbrella) and Santiago is an easy 40-45 minute drive. The hosts are very friendly and available.
A well restored old Galician house a couple of kms outside Esteiro. The welcome was very warm and friendly with an explanation of everything we might need in the house, and local amenities. It was a short walk from the small beaches just outside Esteiro. There was a lovely garden where we sat for breakfast and supper everyday (in early July) and a great BBQ on which we cooked a lovely piece of local beef from the buthcher just down the road. Thanks for a lovely stay.
The property is located in a small town whose name is Esteiro, in the Ria de Muros Noia; the house is located less than 150 meters from two very quiet beaches, where tranquility and beauty of its surroundings prevails, the people who frequent these beaches are lifelong, so we can enjoy a quiet family atmosphere.
Leaving the northern part we can make good hiking trails as from the houses about 200 meters away and we enter mountain area where the views (especially of the estuary) are spectacular.
Going towards Santiago de Compostela we are to Esteiro 1.5 km (center) where the beach (Parameán), the harbor, restaurants and tavernas. The next village in the same direction is 'O Freixo' typical for its harbor, marina and fishing convinación specialized in catching cockles and clams, typical local seafood. Following in the same direction about 5 km is Noia, typical medieval village in the old area while specializing in trade, where we can find a market hall with fresh fish of the estuary.
Returning to the property, if we go in the opposite direction we are about 7km, a fishing village called Muros cataloged as Monumental Artistic Heritage for its beauty and antiquity. You can enjoy local cuisine and shop the Lonja newcomer sea fish. Following the same road we started to enter fishing villages open sea, sindo the last of the Ria Louro with the famous beach of San Francisco, then went through Lariño, Lira, Carnota, and countless fishing villages and finally to Finisterre known for its famous lighthouse, and forced the pilgrims. Needless to say, in all villages in the area the food is homemade and very low prices compared to what we are used to paying for this type of product.
