Large 1-Bedroom Home with Great Ocean Views Plus WiFi, A/C, SatTV, & beach gear
About Michael Wiack
We (Patrick & Michael) first visited Vieques in 2003 and immediately fell in love with the island. We bought our house the very next year and after much blood, sweat, and tears (and a few $$) have created a place that we think you will feel immediately at home in. Well over a hundred guests have stayed in our house and we have received many kind words of praise and compliments on our vacation villa and furnishings. We hope you'll choose to make Casa Dos Chivos your home in Vieques!
Michael Wiack purchased this House in 2004

This home is fantastic! The only criticism is the house is close to the road, which is noisy at night, but we don't sleep with the air on. Probably quiet if you use the air. We highly recommend this home however!
We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay at our “casa”! It’s true our house is besides a back road but honestly whenever we’re at the house there’s almost no traffic overnight. The singing coquis is all we hear.
Thank you Patrick and Michael for having us at your beautiful place! My husband and I had not been to Vieques before, but we will be back!
The place is spotless and ideally located to explore the whole island (fellow travelers: rent a jeep)! We had everything we needed to enjoy the island. Great beach chairs, a cooler, and (bonus) AC in the bedroom to retreat to after long days in the hot sun!
Diane was wonderful and readily available via text if we needed anything. Great restaurant tips, too!
The place was just like the photos and I'm still sad we had to leave!

Beautiful Mid-Island Option!
This place was very tidy and well-equipped, the views were fabulous and the coqui at night were, well, LOUD! I loved every minute of it, felt like I was in the Amazon. It was so much fun to read Coconut Chronicles, written by the renovator-owners of the rental, then look up from the book to see the results of their efforts. Also worth reading was the coffee table book Vieques with beautiful photos and tons of interesting info about the island. I'll never view it the same way. Thanks for everything!
Great views ! Awesome management! Perfect for 2 or more. All you need to bring is you. Bring the binoculars! We truly love, Love, LOVE this place!!!
Great vacation rental.
The house is very nice and well kept, clean and had all the amenities we needed. We rented the top half of the house for the one bedroom option, but it also has two additional bedrooms on the lower half for larger groups. We enjoy Vieques for its laid-back atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and great local food. If you’re looking into a vacation in Vieques I would definitely recommend this property.
Casa Dos Chivos offered us a very comfortable home away from home experience. The owners have thought of everything to make this spacious property with incredible views to the north out over the island and the ocean a special place to stay Although we did not meet them in person they did communicate with us via texts to welcome us and assure that we had everything that we needed. There is no evidence of hurricane damage to the house and it all appeared to be very well maintained. The kitchen is large with everything that you could possibly want to prepare your own meals. Renee the property manager met us at the car rental office and led us to the house the first day. She was very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. In the house you will find a book written by the owners about their experience of buying and renovating the house that reflects the difficulty of projects in the West Indies.
The beaches on the island, especially Las Chivas and Sun Bay are as stunningly beautiful as ever. The crystal clear water is a joy to swim in. The bio bay tour led by Abe is a must. The small town of Esperanza on the south shore is delightful. We had an excellent lunch of chicken sliders with goat cheese and cole slaw at Bananas. The house is situated next to a road that is very well traveled by some locals on their way to and from work which does make for some road noise at certain times of the day especially early in the morning. Also there is the usual rooster noise that is so common throughout the islands. You will enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the horses walk by and the boats coming and going from Isabel Segunda. We thank Michael and Patrick for a pleasant stay and wish them well.
Casa Dos Chivos is situated on a ridge that runs along the middle of the Vieques. The island is only 4 miles from north to south so our house is a short drive to just about every beach and restaurant on the island. The Bioluminescent Bay on the south side of the island, the best beaches on the island on the old Navy base (Red, Secret, Blue, Orchid), and Sun Bay beach are just a short drive away. Just to the west of Sun Bay is the village of Esperanza with many fine restaurants such as Tradewinds, Duffy's, Bili, and El Quenepo.
The largest grocery store and only 2 gas stations are less than 2 miles from the house along the north side of the island.
