This rural, hilly German region with lots of historic towns and villages is a 3-hour drive from the Dutch border. The Ruhr river originates in this area, which can be described as a medium-altitude mountain range (200 to 840 metres). The name 'Suderland' (later changed to Sauerland) was mentioned for the first time in 1266, but the region was already inhabited long before the Middle Ages. From the 19th century, more and more townspeople started coming to the Sauerland to enjoy its nature and healthy mountain air. Nowadays the villages of Willingen and Winterberg are known throughout the world for their annual ski jumping world cup competition and bobsleigh run. Of course, you can choose whether you'll spend your holiday enjoying the hustle and bustle of Willingen and Winterberg, the peace and quiet of your holiday home or the natural surroundings during a walk.

With a group of MTB ers we have rented this house for a weekend. More than enough space and facilities for 12 people. We mainly pluses. One downside, we missed an enclosed space for our bikes. After the weekend we were all united here, we will probably be back next year! Greeting Pim
Great weather, great, very family friendly place to stay for rest and relaxation ...
Pity there was no snow in Willingen and Winterberg too little. Should not spoil the fun. House is fine and beautiful surroundings. We went to the mine in Willingen. Center Parc afternoon swim. Warstein brewery this is really something for men for two hours after the drink free time so celebrate. Winterberg is also super fun. Willingen you can eat well and cheaply.
Everything was well organized, but one remark. we missed a separate toilet, when you're with 12 people and 2 are showering, you'll be on the 2nd floor quite a toilet. Further fine.
The house is beautiful and spacious. The rooms are attractively decorated. Overall recommended
