Secluded Chalet nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains overlooking one of the most beautiful and peaceful lakes in the southeast. The pristine Lake Nantahala. (Located near Andrews, N.C. )

You will have access to a private community Boat Dock(just a 2 minute drive) and private community Picnic/Swimming area, with Trailer parking. Just drop in at the public boat ramp a short drive around the lake and leave it in the water for your entire stay.

It is fully equipped with all of the Luxury amenities you could ever ask for, Gas Fireplace, Leather furniture, Stainless appliances, cozy Loft with comfy couch and chair that both pull out into beds to comfortably sleep the rest of your party.

Enjoy the quite out on the spacious Deck or in the Hot Tub on the covered gazebo with some of the most stunning views in the Smoky Mountains. We have a secluded location with no neighbors and great views.

Or go inside and snuggle up on the couch in front of the fireplace and watch a movie.

Easy to get to on a sweeping driveway with a huge parking area.

Why Eve Rutledge chose Lake Nantahala

We took our two boys for a vacation on the lake. The following year we asked them where did they want to go? They said the lake. With no internet and videos we were shocked. They just loved the water, fishing and doing the back to nature things kids have now forgotten. So when we went back a second year , we decided spur of the moment to look at property in the area. Next thing we knew we bought a piece of propterty and had a wonderful local builder , build our house . We have never looked back and share our home to others who want to get away and enjoy what nature has to offer.

What makes this cabin unique

private location absolutely no neighbors, great views all year long. wonderful views of the lake and mountains both from the deck and property itself.

We have repaired the hot tub issue , installed a new remote that will lift the hot tub cover, and also replaced the cover.

Wonderful!

This is our 2nd stay and Brye Haus. We brought our 2 children with us (9 yrs and 17 months). They both also had a wonderful time. The views are just majestic. Very clean and beautifully decorated.

Gorgeous mountain getaway

Brye Haus is the ultimate mountain get away overlooking Nantahala Lake. NOC outdoor center (rafting, ziplining, etc) is only 1/2 hour away. The home is beautifully decorated and the hot tub was super. Our only issues were the beds were a bit too firm for us and the microwave did not work.

Poor value, lacking amenities and not well maintained

VALUE: The value is very low. $,$$$ for 3 nights (we were forced to remove price). It was for the solar eclipse and the only reason we booked this place. We will not return nor will we recommend.

CLEANLINESS: I was very surprised by the lack of cleanliness. There were several areas where it appeared the cleaner missed or didn't bother to clean because it looked good enough. The comforter in the main bedroom was dirty and had hair from the previous guest. The floor also had grass from a previous guest. Several lights were not working and several windows were unlocked.

GARAGE: The garage is not accessible to guests and was locked during our stay.

LOCATION: The location is okay. It's not really secluded, more like a suburb at high altitude. We could hear people on the lake quite frequently, the cars going past and even people at their own cabins. We went into town once a day and passed several cars on the gravel road each time. The view was also not very good. You could see part of the lake through some trees. 

RENTAL The rental was much smaller than expected and very unorganized. The host requires the guest to bring exact cash for the cleaner essentially making the guest deal with the cleaner rather than the host. Additionally the host charges an unreasonable $75 fee plus the $100 cleaning fee if you forget. Again this is ridiculous, this is why people use home away, so everything is handled through the site.

CONVENIENCE: With no cell service or internet, it is reasonable to think the host would provide the directions and check out requirements on paper as a reference. This is common practice and not done at all for this rental.

DIRECTIONS: The directions given by the host were awful. They looked like they were jotted down in a hurry. What is more ridiculous is that the host could simply drop pin the location and send it to people. We were able to do this for our own benefit.

HOST: The host was generally professional however she seemed to be short in her replies whereas we were always professional and friendly. She also ignored questions that she didn't want to deal with. She did seem to reply in a timely manner with most questions.

AMENITIES: This place is advertised as having all the amenities one would need. It doesn't have Wi-Fi or internet, there is no cell reception and frequent electrical outages. This house has been rented out for 10yrs and doesn't have a generator? The microwave was out for most of the trip. The dish tv had very limited

Owner's Response: Hi Jonathan, I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay at our cabin. I am going to address your issues- Value- yes our rate was higher than normal due to the demand of the eclipse, which is the time you booked the cabin. – Cleanliness- my apologies here if it wasn’t up to standards, we try hard to have our place shine. -Garage- this is private and not open to guests. –Location- our pictures are accurate. We are a secluded cabin. However staying in the area at the time of the eclipse in a town of normally 5,000 people, where 75,000 visitors came yes it was busy everywhere. Lake noise, sound travels on a lake, and with the mountains carries. Again due to the eclipse it was busy everywhere. Rental- our accommodations are accurate. We only recommend 6 people if you had more you would need to adjust where they sleep. We accurately state our bedding situation. –Convenience- if you had read our description on the VRBO page and paperwork sent to you, we clearly state, no cell service and Wi-Fi. Directions- are emailed to you to print out, I am unaware of what hand written direction you had. Our directions are printed with visual images. As for the “pin” is an approximation on the VRBO site so you get an idea where the cabin is. It’s not the directions. I always suggest these to be printed as in the mountains cell service isn’t reliable, if you are using your smart phone. Amenities- again listed in VRBO and the paperwork sent that we clearly state no cell service (there isn’t any in the mountains) and no Wi-Fi. This you would have known prior to booking if you had read all the information on the cabin page, and afterwards what was sent to you. Power outages are frequent in the mountains, this again is addressed in the information sent to you. It is important guests read what is sent to them. I have info on getting food prior etc, and how it isn’t quick to go to town. Microwave needed the circuit to be flipped, If you had called me we could have rectified this immediately. Housekeeping fees again were stated upfront, so this wasn’t a surprise. This is for the convenience of my housekeeper . I would have been more than happy to accommodate you differently if you would have preferred. Host- I am sorry you found my answers short. If a guest sends me quick questions, since I also work full time, I try to answer as quickly as possible to the guest with their answers. Sometimes I will be direct with the response. Beautiful cabin!

Everything was great! Loved the views, swing under the gazebo, hot tub, fire pit and the lake. The only thing that would've made it better, is for the cabin to be closer to lake access and to have cell service. Would stay here again!!!!

Ultimate in relaxation w a great view

Leave your cell phone and computer behind folks, there is no cell coverage or WiFi!

With a spectacular view, guests will have no problem winding down and enjoying the fresh air. The porch swing is perfect for an afternoon cocktail. Also, the side picnic table is a perfect spot for a nice grilled dinner, followed by cozying up next to the fire pit!

If you venture in town, I highly recommend the Hoppy Trout as a great brewery. There is an ingles and marina as well. We rented a canoe one day from the marina and had a great time on the sleepy lake.

Bring a book and a good bottle of wine and you will be set!
