Great secluded house with all modern amenities in a very quiet part of FL. Clean, well maintained property with super evening views of the Gulf and a chorus of tree frogs to lull you to sleep. Easy access to the water, we enjoyed many hours kayaking, fishing and snorkeling in the Gulf and around the mangroves. House comes equipped with paddle boards and kayaks, which allowed us to keep ours at home for this trip!. Also easy access to grocery stores and area attractions. Interesting town with a long history. Only downside is the lack of a true beach, which is the way this part of Florida is, but our kids were not real keen on this. Luckily there are manmade beaches ~5 mins (around an old quarry) and ~20 mins away (Pine Island, worth going) that solved that issue. Owner and property managers were GREAT to work with and super helpful about directing us to cool things to do in the area. Really enjoyed our stay!
This place was absolutely perfect. Such a quiet little gem tucked away on the west coast of Florida...with a Walmart ten minutes away! The property manager Jes was great. We had a wonderful time and I am already dreaming of coming back. Thank you Heather and Jes for a great vacation.
My husband and I spent 10 weeks at this fabulous house. It was absolutely perfect for the 2 of us. The view from the deck put us in relax mode the minute we arrived and the sunsets were amazing. We loved the location, drove 6 minutes to the Weeki Wachee preserve every day to walk, it was 8 minutes to shopping. Couldn’t be more convenient.
If you love peace and quiet this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. Thank you Heather. Nancy 1/18/19 to 3/29/19
Very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the house and the area very much.
Be aware the stilt houses do sway a bit. You will notice the movement. Also no grill and we never saw the care takers.
But, we are self sufficient and that did not bother us one bit.
All in all we absolutely loved the place and would definitely come back.
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Aripeka is such a special place.
Stilt houses do sway in order to sustain during the winds and storms we experience occasionally on the Gulf coast. Unfortunately, we do not provide a grill due to the fire risk on our peninsula.
While I do wish I could have been there, I hope my property manager provided you with anything you may have needed.
Quiet, beautiful setting with clean, well-appointed home
It was me and my 4 girls ages 12-17. We used the kayaks and paddle boards almost daily to paddle out and watch dolphins & the sunset. The home was comfortable and it is a very quiet loacation. It is located between several areas that are about an hour or less to go to. We visited Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, Crystal River, Honeymoon Island, and Pine Island Beach. Highly recommend swimming with the manatees. The house is very comfortable for 4 people, and 5 if one person doesn’t mind sleeping on the big, comfy couch! Also, for a beach, I recommend Pine Island... $5 fee but totally worth it.
