This is the One!!!
Absolutely lovely!!! I wish I could give it 6stars. The house itself is a original Woodstock farmhouse that has been beautifully reimagined.
The kitchen/dining room are stylish, bright and very well equipped. The master bedroom/bathroom downstairs is amazing. The Upstairs bedrooms are equally as lovely. All the bedding was plush and the
mattresses were comfy.
I wish we could have stayed longer and just hung out. The property is
beautiful and very conveniently located-one mile down the road from town. This is the Perfect Woodstock getaway! We will be back, hopefully often.
Had a wonderful stay at Gail’s house. The house is so comfortable and cute and Gail was very accommodating. She even offered to let us check-in early and with the later check out time we were really able to take advantage of the two days we had there. Also loved that we could walk to the bear cafe! Definitely a bonus!
Cristin, you were great guests. I also loved that you enjoyed reading a book from my "book club" library on the cozy couch during the rain. Please come again!
Norman Rockwell come to life, with an artistic and modern flair
We had family coming in for an event, and rented the famhouse for the occasion. When we went to look at it, WOW! this is a perfectly restored early farmhouse overlooking a seven acre meadow (rare in town, there's a reason they call it "Woods-tock). So calm and beautiful, with a mighty hill and forest with large trees to the rear. We fell in love with the house immediaely, and decided to take it for ourselves, handing our own house over to the family.
Maybe it's the idyllic setting, maybe it's the lovely renovation and decor (featuring local artwork of high quality), maybe it's that feeling of seclusion and isolation while at the same time being only walking distance from the Bear Cafe and Cub deli, maybe it's the delightful large gas fireplace, whatever, this house is just magical. We felt relaxed just walking inside. We joked about selling our house and moving in here.
Woodstock is cool, filled with clothing and food boutiques and restaurants of every description. Since we know the town, we decided to act as though we were strangers, seeing it with fresh eyes. From the vantage point of this lovely farmhouse and farmfield, we saw there is a lot of appeal, eaven for someone new to the area. We walked over to the Bearsville Theater to a show. We took the family on a hike up Overlook Mountain. We window-shopped and snacked the days away.
Then home to three totally comfy beds, really nice linens and quilts, quiet and lovely space (ample space, not cramped), views of the hawks circling in the sun. Honestly, we can't imagine wanting more, and we even went home with some ideas for improving the experience of our own house. We'll go back to the farmhouse---and Gail's charming hostessing---anytime we get and chance.
Charming, Cozy, Private.
There was a group of 4 of us.
We really enjoyed staying the house, we loved the cozy beds, firepit and the sunflower market down the road.
The host is really gracious and helpful.
We will visit again during the summer
