Homer Alaska is located on the South end of the Kenai Peninsula on Kachemak Bay and it is one of the jewels of the Kenai Peninsula. It is a very picturesque setting. Whether you look to the East or to the West, the view can be breathtaking.
Alaska is on the list for many to visit and sometimes it can be troubling to make the decision on where to stay. There are hundreds of Bed & Breakfast's to stay in, numerous hotels and vacation rentals to choose from. Why choose R&R; because it is as close to home as you can get while being on the road. We offer privacy, real peace and quiet; which that is hard to find now a day's, and a very convenient location when it comes to activities that you might partake in while you are visiting.
We are 3.5 miles from the center of town and another 4.5 miles to the Harbor. If you just wanted to take a hike after waking up, without getting in your car, our property abuts to some of the best hiking trails Homer has to offer. Whether you want to walk one mile or five miles, all you need are your hiking boots.
Most visitors want to fish while they are in Homer and although we do not offer any guided services, we have been living in the community since 1978 and operated charter boats until the late 1980's. This gives us the opportunity to point you in the direction you want to go without a fee.
After recreating, you will want to eat and if you want to come home and put your fresh caught fish on the grill, you can at R&R. All the amenities are provided to do just that. But if you want to dine out, my wife works at one of the finest eateries in town and has been in the service industry for 19 years, so we know where the good food is.
We have tried to make R&R affordable for our visitors, especially the ones that want to stay for awhile. Our prices might seem to be low, but that doesn't reflect the condition of the accommodations. It reflects our philosophy with travel. It's a price that we wouldn't mind paying if we were traveling, and it's always nice to be pleasantly surprised.
R&R is just perfect for some. We are not the fancy high end resort with a million dollar view. We are simply a quiet comfortable home away from home. I can't ever recall having one of our visitors complain about the place. So if you are coming to the Great Land and visiting Homer, please consider R&R for your stay.

About Elizabeth Pepper
R&R was built for Mother Mary and it is there that she enjoyed the last of her days relaxing and entertaining family and friends. It was her wish to share this with others and that is why R&R is the place to relax and enjoy the quiet peaceful surroundings in a wonderful Alaskan environment. Billy first came to Homer Alaska from Oahu Hawaii on a NOAA ship as a volunteer back in the late 70's only to fall in love with Homer. He started his dream by building a two story log home in The Last Great Frontier that he and Liz call home to this day. Together they have built a life full of love, family, and friends from hard work and living the Alaskan Dream. Both have been in the hospitality industry whether it is from Billy starting as a charter captain in the late 70's or from Liz working as a waitress for over 20 years at some of the finest restaurants in Homer. We took those talents and combined them with Mary's love of people and have built R&R for a place for visitors to enjoy.

What makes this Apartment unique
For us, it's the place where you can light the sauna, go skiing on 36K of groomed trails, come back from a good ski and have a soothing steam bath all without ever having to get in the car. What more could you ask for? Whether it's hiking or skiing, it's right there in your back yard.

Quaint little place
This was a perfect little place for us. Beautiful. Quiet. A bald eagle waved at us on our last morning. Loved it!
I couldn't of asked for better guests! Father & Son vacation saving the best for last!
Quiet property, yet close to everything in the Homer/Anchor Point area
Liz and Billy have the apartment set up beautifully - everything you need for a multiple week stay, and more! I fished my brains out for two weeks, and it was great to come in each night and be able to get supper on, take a hot shower, and prepare for the next day's adventure. There was plenty of room to spread out for just one of me, but more than one couple and two kids might find it cramped - but then again, it IS an apartment for two! I was rarely more than thirty minutes from anywhere I chose to go (trailheads, the Anchor River, Homer, etc.) and having a Safeway in town made shopping for provisions easy. DO NOT go to the McDonald's in town - the food was sloppily prepared, tasted a bit off, and the dining room and bathrooms were filthy.
What can you say about Billy and Liz, they're terrific, and can get you set up on any outing that you choose. Both are "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" Alaskans! Thanks you guys, for. Terrific stay.
Perfect Location for Exploring Homer
This cozy property is a perfect location for exploring Homer. The apartment is cozy with wifi and satellite TV. We liked the location outside of the downtown area and encountered a momma moose and her 2 calves when returning back to the apartment one night after dark. Apartment has washer and dryer which was helpful during our stay. Only "con" is that the place is a bit overdecorated with outdated kitchy knick knacks. But we weren't there for the decorations and it is very comfortable. It is above a garage and there are external stairs.
We are a couple who love to travel and find cozy places to relax and feel at home. This was just the place. We had everything we needed, and more.
Relaxing and clean
I needed a little getaway and rest this weekend. This was the perfect place. The owners are genuinely nice. I'll definitely stay, again.
Quiet and Comfortable!
Really enjoyed our stay. Very nice comfortable accommodations with the most hospitable folks you ever met. The Pepper's make you feel right at home. It is also a very quiet location. Highly recommend this Home Away.
We are located in The Halibut Fishing Capital of the world which for those guests who enjoy fishing, is a dream come true. Not only can you fish for Halibut, Rockfish, Cod and Dolly Varden but you can also try for Salmon if you time it right. R&R is nestled in a quiet serene subdivision surrounded by spruce trees and an abundance of wildlife. We are also located right next door to the Homestead Trail which offers both summer hiking and winter cross country skiing and 3 miles from the Diamond Creek Trial that goes down to the beach. Both trails provide plenty of opportunities for sightings of wildlife and birds for those folks who enjoy getting outside and being one with Mother Nature.
