Great time near Portland

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was so clean, and so comfortable, almost like staying at a friend's house. It's a great location if you want to enjoy Portland without staying in the city. We went there almost every day, and sometimes at night...great food! Lobster Shack near the Two Lights is a must. Make sure to read the travel book on the cocktail table, giving you ideas of where to go in the area. Lighthouses of course, but there are easy hiking trails just outside of the town.

Breath taking views, close to Portland/state parks, cozy no frills rustic lodging

  • 4 of 5

This is a hidden gem provided you're not looking for upscale accommodations. Comfortable, crazy beautiful views and super close to Portland. Close enough to bike to Two Lights State Park and Portland Headlight. House is older, no frills, and a bit dusty/musty when we arrived. Really needed to be aired out, but then was fine. Bring fans of it's going to be hot b/c there's no ac. But, if u sleep w windows open u can hear the waves on the rocks.

Very Disappointing!

  • 2 of 5

Mattresses are very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The entire house smells musty probably due to the carpeting in the house. We were expecting beachfront as pictured on the site when I booked our vacation. I emailed and asked if it was beach front to be sure and was told yes. Needless to say we were very disappointed.

Cozy, comfy coastal cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Surfside, and it was as delightful as our first. The tidy little two-bedroom abode is roomy, comfortably furnished, and thoughtfully equipped. There's an attractive deck off the kitchen-dining area and into the woodsy backyard. But the front is the real dazzler, with stunning views of the dramatic Atlantic beyond the rolling green lawn. For our purposes (visiting family nearby), the off-the-beaten-path location was perfect. We'd love to return!
