About Paula Harvan

I have been offering luxury holiday accommodations since 1999, with properties in Paris, the South of France, London and Napa Valley, California. Residential design and decor is my passion, and I strive to provide dwelling places that are more expressive, more beautiful, more comfortable than most vacation rentals. I live part-time in all these places. So each functions as a personal 'home' -- not just an impersonal rental property. So there are many things, both big and small -- from superb heating and air conditioning to an extensive French art glass collection to oyster knives, a sushi set and escargot forks -- that are not usually found in properties that are used exclusively as rentals. The hallmark of each residence is its personal style, which reflects its unique character and location. For example, my Paris penthouse, the top floor of a handsome Art Deco building with sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower and Parisian rooftops, is thoughtful designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of skyscape and its light inside with a calm silver-grey palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of glass, chrome, mirrors and colour. My philosophy is that I would never rent a property that I would not stay in myself. So, putting myself into my guests’ shoes, I 'think of everything' -- as my many 'five-star' guest reviews confirm -- to make your stay a most positive and memorable experience.

Paula Harvan purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Paula Harvan chose 7th Palais Bourbon/Eiffel Tower

If you read the many excellent 'five-star' guest reviews, they thoroughly answer the question, 'Why this property?' Personally, I lived in Paris for several years before purchasing the penthouse so I was quite familiar with the City and the profile of different arrondissements and neighborhoods. I chose this property and location because 1) I LOVE the Eiffel Tower, and the penthouse has fantastic views of it from 5 windows and the apartment itself if very light, open and airy, 2) the neighborhood is lively (with many cafes/restaurants and stores), safe AND truly Parisian. That is, it's not overrun by tourists so you really live like a local while you're here, 3) it offers convenient day-to-day living -- stores/services, such as post office, big and small supermarkets, an outdoor market are within a 2-5 minute walk 4) the penthouse is only one block from a convenient metro line that provides easy access to all major sights in the city and a five minute walk to the Champs des Mars, the huge park that surrounds the Eiffel Tower, which provides a great place to walk/run/and people watch.

What makes this apartment unique

I never tire of the stunning views of the Eiffel Tower from each of the penthouse windows. The view is especially inspiring from the window of fully-equipped office/study. So as I work, I can glaze from my desk (which is smack in front of the window) and see this marvelous structure. I also love the privacy of the penthouse, the conveniences (bakeries, food/convenience stores, wine bar) at are literally a 30 second walk from outside the building gates) truly Parisian neighborhood, and walking/exercising on the Champs des Mars, the park where the Eiffel Tower is located.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"LPR is an absolute gem and we will absolutely return (for a longer time!) Paula, you have thought of everything and it was all appreciated. We arrived back at LPR each evening of our stay, completely amazed that the Eiffel Tower awaited us yet again; it is a sight never to tire of."

This is a lovely place to spend your time in Paris. We are very happy that we chose this VRBO. Paula obviously tries very hard to make this penthouse a "home away from home ".

Worth the wait..

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 8 nights in Paula's penthouse and it was just fabulous.

It is everything that the previous reviewers have mentioned - beautiful and smartly designed layout, wonderful local neighbourhood, clean and spacious. Also with Victoria meeting us at the airport to take us to the apartment was a stress free start to our stay. Paula has really put alot of thought into what the apartment offers so you can feel like a local - even down to the shopping trolley that you can take when visiting the nearby grocer or specialty food stores.

We had originally planned to stay at the penthouse last year and had to postpone our trip to Sep this year. I had already paid the deposit, and even though I cancelled for last year - I was able to use it as credit for this stay. I researched for a very long time to finally choose Paula's apartment and I am so glad we stayed here.

My husband and I are looking forward to returning to Paris and to stay here again. Thank you so much Paula and Victoria!

Would stay here again...

  • 5 of 5

This property is fantastic. It's beautifully decorated and the added provisions (champagne, nespresso, cocktails) were so thoughtful and appreciated! It's very comfortable and even though it's appointed so beautifully, you can still relax and feel at home. The bed was also really comfortable and the black out shade made for wonderful, restful sleep. Also the bathroom and shower are wonderful. The tub looked inviting too but there just wasn't time to take advantage of a leisurely soak...this time! But nothing beats the view! We just couldn't get enough of it. Fun to see it sparkle on the hour, but even more stunning just to gaze upon it all evening. We visited with some other tourists who were staying in hotels and had virtually no room to move about. Yes, they paid less, but... We felt the value was there to have the spaciousness, cleanliness and location. Le Moulin Boulangerie just down the street had wonderful quiches and my husbands favorite...chocolate eclairs! The metro is the other direction just a few blocks, which we used often to go sight seeing, though we walked to the Eiffel Tour and Invalides (they are that close). We would also stop at La Place on our way home some evenings, have crepes and just people watch! Several streets come together there and it's just full of activity. The grocery is close, shopping is close, restaurants close...it's just the perfect neighborhood! I agree with another reviewer who said just step out and go a different direction each day. This time seeing the top sites was on our agenda. But next time we would absolutely stay here again and do just that!

Words can not describe....

Our stay in this apartment left my wife and I simply speechless! Indescribably beautiful and wonderful...we spent hours just staring at the Eiffel Tower! The hospitality of Paula and Victoria is unmatched and the little touches were so welcoming! Victoria is a treasure as well - we really appreciated all her efforts to make our stay so special. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Paris!! The location is ideal, access to the metro convenient, with stores and restaurants easily within walking distance. For being in a bustling neighborhood, the unit is extremely quiet.

Where do you live?

Live like a Parisian and Love It!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary this year and decided to go to Paris. We wanted to experience the City by living like a Parisian. Paula's apartment in the 15th Arrondissement was absolutely perfect. It's just the right size, is fully equipped and very nicely appointment as if it were a luxury hotel room - but we had more room and more privacy! Paula adds some extras like providing access to her Nespresso machine and milk frother - and she provides the nespresso cups included in the pricing. We also loved the location - walking distance to everything. We didn't use the metro, it was so easy to walk. Check out Rue Cler nearby and see an opera at Invalides....it's all easy to walk to. Paula, thank you very much for sharing your flat.

A little piece of heaven...

  • 5 of 5

Before arriving in Paris Victoria and Paula were both very attentive answering any questions we had. Making our reservations was quick and painless. Upon arriving Victoria picked us up and drove us through the beautiful city of Paris. You can feel her love of her city she's so proud of. My husband and I spent a week in this beautiful Penthouse for our honeymoon. We were greeting with a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and stocked with goodies. The bakery down the street is delicious. If you're looking for the best onion soup close to home, Cafe Le Pierrot. We loved staying outside of the touristy areas but the Eiffel Tower is only a 5-10 minute walk away. Best advice I can give is to just get lost in this stunning city. Go outside your apartment building and pick a new direction each day. You will always stumble upon something beautiful. Lovely neighborhood and gorgeous apartment! Thank you Paula! We're already planning our return to our favorite city and hope to stay at your beautiful penthouse. We miss it!
