Historic Home in a Great Location with Exceptional Hosts

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home in a fantastic location. It's a beautifully decorated and maintained historic house on scenic Quince St. Very clean and well appointed with all the amenities plus easy walking distance to many great restaurants and historic sites. We were very appreciative of all the extra touches such as toiletries in the bathrooms and basics in the kitchen including coffee, milk and juice, etc. they even spoiled us with fresh muffins and cookies.

Tony and John were exceptional hosts. They were very helpful with all our questions, even allowed us to store our luggage with them prior to check-in which was a big help. They even escorted us to their favorite breakfast place on Sunday morning! If you are planning a trip to Philadelphia this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Tony and John!

Owner's Response: Karen and her husband were awesome guests.. Followed all house rules and they were impeccably clean. Hardly had to do a thing after they left. We were also sad to see them leave. They were so friendly and a delight to get to know.. We loved spending time with them and hosting them. We would definitely have them back. It was a joy. Tony and John

I am sure that my review will not do this property the justice that it deserves, but I will try...

First, we are originally from the Philadelphia area and moved away in 2005. We have made many trips back over the years and when we are not staying with family, we usually stay in a nice hotel in town. However, this time my son wanted to take a trip back home before heading off to NJ for a family vacation and he wanted to bring his girlfriend who has never been to Philadelphia. So, this trip I decided to look for something that would provide a REAL Philadelphia experience and I found it in this beautiful home.

The home itself is gorgeous! It has been updated and is very modern, but the feel of it with the original floors and the kitchen being on the lower level really did it for me. I LOVED IT! The location was perfect, within walking distance to restaurants, Reading Terminal, many historical sites, etc. This house is so roomy and comfortable - something a hotel would never have been able to provide. The kids camped out on the two upper floors while my husband and I took the lower floors - PERFECT!!

Tony and John really made this home so comfortable and you can tell that they have your comfort in mind as their towels are fluffy, linens are comfy and they even have toiletries in case you forget your own.

Thank you both for helping us make some wonderful memories - we hope to come back and make more! Maybe next Christmas when you have the tree up ;)

Step back in time

What a great home and fantastic hosts. The location is excellent for the 'historic' philly experience. All amenities and features are as displayed and described.

Communication with the host's was easy and timely. We were 2 couples with lots of luggage and there was plenty of space. The home is over 4 floors so there are internal stairs, spiral, so be aware. We knew before arrived so we left our bags down stairs. It did not detract from our experience in this lovely, historic home. Home is close to bars and restaurant's and a friendly neibourhood. We can thoroughly recommend the home. Steve R

A Gem of a House

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with another couple, rented this trinity house for two nights. We all wished we could have stayed longer.... or even forever! Everything about this home is comfortable and beautiful and the photos of it are truly accurate. From the front door and on every floor, it is evident that this home has been lovingly restored and exquisitely decorated. The couches, beds, and chairs were all very comfortable, so we could sit around in the living room or at the kitchen or dining room tables and talk at length. But you will want to get out and explore Philadelphia, and this is one of the best locations to use as headquarters! We walked to South Street (where you will find an enormous Whole Foods), Reading Terminal Market, Society Hill, City Hall, Rittenhouse Square, and museums on the Parkway. There are restaurants and coffee shops conveniently located but the kitchen in this home is so well stocked, it's easy to make your own coffee each morning and then enjoy it on the lovely patio. We also enjoyed using the patio for cocktail hour! At the end of each day, we fell asleep quickly in the very comfortable beds.

Tony and John are wonderful hosts! Little touches throughout the house, like coffee in the kitchen, dish detergent and a clean sponge at the kitchen sink, paper towels, soaps in the showers and at the bathroom sinks were wonderful to have in place. I have rented other properties and these niceties are not always provided! Communication throughout the rental process was fantastic, and Tony was always very prompt in answering all the questions in my emails. We had the pleasure of meeting John and he could not have been more welcoming. Both Tony and John were helpful and accommodating which was truly appreciated.

Washington Square is a lovely, historic neighborhood, and this home is on a quaint and beautiful street. It is a trinity, so it is small and vertical -- there are many stairs, so probably not a good place for small children or people with issues climbing up and down narrow steps. But we loved every minute of our stay and never once felt like we were cramped for space or falling over one another. We would rent it again in a heartbeat. If you're lucky enough to find this property available when you visit Philadelphia, you won't be disappointed if you stay here, and you'll have the best hosts you could ask for!

Charming and very well maintained historic home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in this house! Many years ago we lived in Philadelphia and knew that Quince Street was the most desirable area of historic homes and had always wanted to live there. This gave us the chance to have an up close taste. It’s tastefully decorated and updated with a new kitchen, walk-in shower in the master bath and AC and it’s in the middle of the restaurant district and a short walk to all the famous tourist sites. We’d love to go back!
