A little slice of heaven!
The cottage was perfect in every way. Traveling with an elderly parent and old dog we came to MDI with no plans or anything in mind but to relax and unwind. The Little House was like staying in a friend's cottage - very well appointed, cozy, lovely and in a perfect setting. It allowed us to relax and enjoy the beauty of the island.
I was ready to move in permanently! I only wish it was available in the winter : ) Thank you Elena
Thank you so much for the lovely review, and I am glad that The Little House was comfortable for all of you. Welcome back any time!
The Little House was a great, central location for our Acadia visit. The home had all the amenities needed to make the trip very comfortable. Elena was great to work with and communication was excellent. Only negative was that we would have preferred a couch over the futon. Futon was the only uncomfortable part of the trip.
I would definitely come back to the Little House and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Acadia/Bar Harbor area.
My lovely bride and I couldn't have been more delighted with our weeklong stay at the "Little House".
Entering the truly wonderfully appointed cottage to find a welcoming personalized card and gift basket of delicacies, we knew we had found our "home away from home".
The "Little House" was a perfect home base for our weeklong exploration of the natural splendors of Acadia National Park.
What we hadn't expected was a stunningly wonderful selection of vegetarian options, especially within walking distance at Sips, in downtown Southwest Harbor.
We literally wanted for nothing, as Elena's "Little House" had been not only loving restored to reflect its historical roots, but fully appointed for today's modern comforts.
The icing on our Maine cake....having the pleasure of meeting Elena and Pip!
Thank you both very much for visiting The Little House. You are welcome back any time!
The Lovely Little House of Southwest Harbor
For our first trip to Maine, we wanted a charming cottage with a great location. I really hit the mark when I found this place. When you stay here, you really should read the article in “O” magazine about the renovations. The cottage is so charming and we were met with a sweet welcome basket. Ample windows allow natural light into this unique place. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic table in the flower garden while eating our breakfast before heading out on our day’s adventures. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. If we could make one addition, we would suggest a comfortable sofa for the front room.
Our favorite hiking trail was at Long Pond, just minutes away. Southwest Harbor has some great places to eat. Milagros Coffee became a favorite spot. And do go to Charlotte’s Legendary Lobster for late-night blueberry pie!
If you are looking for a charming, quiet, cottage with a great location for exploring everything this magical island has to offer, this place is for you.
Thank you for visiting and for the lovely review.
Little House week of relaxation

Thanks very much. We loved having you visit The Little House!
"Little House" on MDI's quiet side
Enjoyed a wonderful week at the "Little House" in Southwest Harbor. The house is set in meadows that were filled with lupines that were at peak bloom while we were there. We enjoyed relaxing in the nicely maintained yard which contained a beautiful garden. We appreciated the suggestions for restaurants and other insider info provided by our host.
Thanks so much. It was a pleasure to have you all visit!
