Unlike neighboring houses, Issigeac is a medieval city with curved streets that wind from the Church and the Palace of the Bishops of Sarlat around a series of small squares, stone houses and unique timber-framed houses Périgord.

Renowned for its architectural heritage, Issigeac also concentrates many artists, craftsmen and shops. It is powered by its market every Sunday morning and many events throughout the year.

Bergerac Airport is only 15 minutes, Eyzies, the Lascaux caves and Sarlat 1 hour. Many tours and hikes from the village.

Charming and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property. Our hosts were warm, welcoming, and very quick to respond to minor problems. The space is beautiful—high ceilings, nicely decorated, with a mix of open and airy and cozy. As it was summer, we didn’t spend much time in the salon/living room, but imagined with a fire going that it will be a great spot in cool weather. The kitchen is large and very well equipped and it is nice to have a wc on ground floor. We spent a lot of time in the dining room, with doors open to the garden, listening to the birds. Upstairs, we enjoyed the comfortable and stylish master bedroom, the fine linen bedding, and we appreciated the two full bathrooms upstairs—each with separate shower, a tub, and toilet. There is a small exercise room off one bathroom. It was also great to have off-street parking. We were surprised that given its location in town it is a very quiet place. We enjoyed the recommended restaurant so much we dined there more than once. There are some good walks directly from the village and many more in the area. When in the Dordogne region, we would love to return to this stylish and comfortable home and be hosted by Hadrien and Anais.

A very pleasant, beautifully decorated two bedroom 2 bathroon gite with a well equiped kitchen. There are bars and recommended restaurants within a short walking distance and a market that winds it's way through the very picturesque village on a Sunday morning. Good base to explore the surrounding countryside - we visited Sarlat, St Emillion, Bergerac, the caves at Lascaux and a day in Bordeaux . Hadrien and Anais stay nearby and were very welcoming hosts- any problem was sorted out right away. Would definitely recommend!

A dordogne dream!

  • 5 of 5

This home was everything we could have wished for in a Dordogne home experience. Beautiful medieval home but with modern amenities. The place was very spacious with three bedrooms but there were only two of us! So plenty of room to spread out. The master bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms! The kitchen was large and easy to use. WE cooked several of our own meals. The beautiful old dining room table was a great place for an elegant meal. And we sipped wine many evening on the outside veranda. We loved Issigeac. It was a small medieval village with fabulous restaurants walking distance. Plus bakeries, grocery stores, etc. Our hosts were fabulous too. We can't wait to go back and stay for a month!

Fabulous, spacious and in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

This superbly decorated property was a joy to stay in for our week in Issigeac. Everything is spacious and decorated with great taste. Gone are the pokey rooms and poor quality finishes that one would normally associate with a gite. Instead you have a spa pool, decent sized garden just on the edge of the main village. The best of both worlds. There are two large double bedrooms and another room with two single beds. The two bathrooms are enormous :-) Hadrien was a superb host, very helpful and yet didn't bother us during our stay. Fabulous!

We have just spent the most memorable 8 days in your beautiful house. It's so charming, so perfectly decorated.! Anais and Hadrien are to be commended and congratulated for creating the most welcome and hospitable home imaginable! We loves your village, the market on sunday, the bakeries, the butcher. And lastly, thank you for the wonderful, suggestions for dinner. All in all, it was perfect and we wish you both very best!! Aloha from hawaii!!!
