My name is Rob Erickson; I am a commercial real estate broker in Los Angeles living on the West side with my wife Melissa and two young children Max and Teddy. We continue to enjoy our place in Manhattan Beach as an incredible escape from the hustle and bustle of LA.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1998
Our place in Manhattan Beach was my first house post Arizona State University. A number of friends from college had gone on and on about how great Manhattan Beach was and after my first visit I was a believer. I spent my first eight years after college in MB and feel very fortunate to be able to visit on a monthly basis.
Enjoying a day at the beach, riding bikes along the ocean followed by an ocean view sunset BBQ on the balcony is hard to beat. Manhattan Beach has a great selection of fine and casual dinning for all tastes and plenty of fun places to visit after dinner.
I will definitely recommend your place to friends visiting LA. Highlights of your digs: location and All Clad cookware. I love to cook, so having decent cookware gave me a lift in spirits after a long day.
Bigger than appears in photos, tall ceilings and lots of windows with beach view and breeze, this is a perfect escape and great value. Love this part of Manhattan Beach with our favorite restaurants around the corner.

We stayed three nights in El Porto St. At the older, quieter end if the beach it's a great place to stay. One block to the beach, all you need in a spot to explore. A lovely walk along the strand to the pier. Spotlessly clean and as described. Truly supportive owner who is keen to make your stay as good as can be. Two bedrooms each have ensuite which is great. Really comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Views are a treat. Weather wasn't conducive to the retractable roof with additional bedding but it looked fun. And, the book shelf has some fabulous reads!!! Parking a real bonus. Unreservedly recommend.
Just returned from a business trip to the LA area. Decided to try something different than a hotel. What a treat! The pictures on the listing are true what you will find when you arrive. The beds are comfortable, the views incredible, and the location is perfect. I will definitely stay here again when the opportunity arises.
My daughter (age 14) and I stayed for 4 nites. The location is on the opposite end of the Strand so it is very quiet.
We rented boogie baords and took surf lessons all just steps form the house (maybe a 3 minute walk to beach). We really loved the laid back, sufer town of Manhattan Beach and plan to return for a future visit. Great waves and the beach was never crowded the whole week we were there.
The home was well maintained and the pictures online were very accurate. Rob was responsive with questions and promptly returned our deposit.
My daughter thought the retractable roof (similar to a sunroof on a car) was very cool. The loft area provided great views of the ocean and allowed for cool breezes to fill the home.
If you don't mind driving or biking to most restaurants (there are a couple you can walk to), this place should be considered.
This is a wonderful unit that is located in an optimal location. Surf shop right up the street, beach right down the street. Everything accessible by walking. We enjoyed the FISH BAR restaurant for dinner which is just around the corner from unit. Home is well supplied with everything you'll need for your stay.
Retractable roof a bonus for kids and adults who don't mind scaling the ladder.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at the El Porto house. Anything and everything one could possibly need, including bikes, beach chairs, kitchenware, great gas fireplace, entertainment system and internet access, etc., was at our fingertips, thanks to Rob. Breakfasts and bbq's on the balcony, sunsets from the living room windows, relaxing in the loft with retracted roof, evening walks on the Strand, leisurely afternoons on the beach. Heaven.
