The husband and wife team of owners were kind, with the male owner even chatty in a charming mix of languages. A sweet, sandy beach was within comfortable walking distance for us adults (toddler legs required some assistance) "Ice Dream", a gelateria just up the hill towards Acharavi, served delicious ice cream- with a little playground for the kids The small kitchen had a full-sized stove and some decent pans Eating dinner on the balcony with a lovely view.
The bedrooms were a bit dark The only places inside to sit down were the chairs at the kitchen table (or on the beds). This is fine when the weather is nice enough to sit on the balcony, but we had four days of rain during our stay and would have loved some comfortable chairs or even a couch The furniture and decorations were a bit run-down. Things didn't quite feel shabby, but not pretty either. It would have been nice if the shower head could have been hung (we were soaping up with one hand while the other held the shower head up)
Saint Spyridon beach and resort is on the North east coast, about 42km from Corfu town. Set around two small bays with stunning views across Albania and the sloops of Mount Pantokrator behind you, this quiet beach resort is not to be missed. The beach areas are made up of sand enclosed at either end by stunning rock formations and crystal clear waters. There is an all inclusive hotel here, but you can still find a small selection of Bars, restaurants and shops, although these are limited and this is what keeps the area secluded. At the far end of the main beach is the inlet for Antinioti Lake, there is a small bridge here that will take you to the area known as Nissos Island, the lake and its two inlets at either end make this place an island in its own right. This is a protected area of Corfu and is abundant with flora and wildlife including the threatened Otter species Lutra-lutra. There are some beautiful walks along here and you will find the small beach of Laronis, which is a completely unspoilt cove and has a natural water break. Further along the track you will find a wooded area where you can see the abandoned church and monastery of St.Ekaterini.
In alternative the traditional Village of Perithia is only a ten minute walk away with a couple of tavernas, bars and grocery shops.
