Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

This cottage is minutes away from activities and attractions at Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Trenton Airport, yet provides opportunity for private relaxation.

Enjoy a cozy cottage located among Maine's pine trees on the coast of Maine offering 1,000+ feet of water frontage. This is a housekeeping cottage offering two bedrooms, with queen size beds. There is one full bath. Well behaved pets are welcome, there is a $100 fee.

Imagine driving down a 1,600 foot water-lined, private drive from Seal Point Road in Lamoine. Your mind goes to the quiet, relaxing days before you. Picture yourself following the trail established around the 'point' or perhaps walking along the shore. Watching the seals lounge on sun-warmed ledges at low tide may be fascinating, also deer and wild turkeys may be seen. Bald eagles frequent the area. Observing the lobster fishermen 'pulling their traps' by visiting each bobbing, colorful buoy may catch your attention. Painting views of Schoodic Mountain pleases artistic visitors.

Beautiful location, nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay in this cabin. It was perfect for three people. It is on a beautiful piece of property on the water about a 30 minute drive from Acadia National Park. The area is very quiet and tranquil. The cabin is well maintained. The kitchen area is small, so make sure to plan for simple meals. Our only issue was the internet service was very slow and sometimes didn't work at all. We got a message saying the account was over it's monthly data limit so it was probably just because we were there the last few days of the month.

Enjoyed the cozy cottage overlooking Frenchman Bay

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Maine, and we were very pleased with our stay at McIntyre Cottage. It was so peaceful--the perfect place for us to start and end our days of hiking in Acadia National Park. We had everything we needed and enjoyed watching the sunrise over the bay and the lobster boats coming and going. Neila was gracious and responsive to our needs.

We cooked breakfast and supper each day and appreciated having the use of a gas grill. A couple of minor suggestions: consider an updated TV; add a beverage pitcher, a potato peeler, and a cookie pan to the kitchen supplies (which overall was well stocked).

Thank you, Neila!

Cozy cottage tucked away in the woods

  • 4 of 5

This cottage is definately private, except for the little critters in the woods! It is clean and well maintained, and the washer and dryer are an added plus. We did hear some animals scurrying and rustling about under the cottage in the evening, but after all, this is their habitat. Unfortunately we had a cold, rainy week when we stayed there, so we didn't get to enjoy the quiet outdoor retreat as much as we would have liked. It's close proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor make it an ideal location for anyone hoping to spend time there. There is no exhaust fan in the kitchen, plus only an apartment sized stove, so you don't want to cook elaborate meals in the kitchen, but there is a lobster pot that we could use with the side burner of the outdoor grill that worked adequately. We had to have that Maine lobster! Also, there is no hair dryer, so make sure to bring your own.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Adorable little cottage nestled privately in the woods. The cottage was super clean and very comfortable with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. Awesome walking path on the property in front of the cottage, you can perch on the rocks at Frenchman's Bay and watch the lobster boats. We even saw a few seals! It was a bit of a drive to attractions like Acadia and Bar Harbor, but totally worth it for the privacy and seclusion!

Our family had a wonderful time in this cozy cottage in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage offered everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were able to explore the coast line along Pathways that were easily accessible from the cabin. The cabin is somewhat hidden which afforded a peaceful environment, but was not too far from restaurants, gas stations etc...it was a very pleasant stay for our first trip to Maine.

Lovely cottage on private lot

  • 5 of 5

What a nice place to stay for a week! The cottage is on a very private lot right next to a bay. We loved Lamoine...the town that the cottage is in. There is a small park, Coleman Woods, right down the road from the cottage which is perfect for a quiet walk through the woods. We went to Marlborough Beach to walk in the ocean and to Bloomfield Park on Asa Road to swim in a wonderful pond. We watched the seals on the rock ledges in the bay in front of the cottage, and a porcupine wander through the yard. (He was very non-aggressive but we still kept an eye on our dog....) There was a Bald Eagle feasting on some mystery meat about 20 yards from the road near the cottage. We had delicious pizza from the Seal Cove Goat Farm. The cottage is well equipped, modern, and very clean. (Bring your own soaps and cooking spices!) People have mentioned that you can't see very much of the bay, but the trees keep the cottage cool. I carried a chair down to the edge of the woods to watch the water. This is on the bay so no actual beaches to sit on but there are beaches available very near by. If you have bikes bring them as there are many places in the area to ride, either on bike paths road in Acadia National Park, or in Lamoine where traffic is very mild. The cottage is located close to Ellsworth and Bar Harbor but not on top of the congestion. It is also easy to get to Schoodic Point...the northern section of Acadia National Park! We love the Schoodic Point section of Acadia. A treasure all by itself. We hiked and picked wild blueberries until our teeth were blue! The week zipped by way to quickly!
