Pet Friendly Place to Get Away

  • 4 of 5

This cute little A-frame is exactly as described and provided a comfortable place to stay for two adults and two dogs. Having snowed a bit the day before, access was cleared for our safe arrival. Sherry greeted us with a warm hello and let us know of her daughter's pet store in Leavenworth (perk for staying: store discount). Cabin is tiny but furnished comfortably and stocked well. Coffee, tea and cocoa is provided. The cabin retained heat surprisingly well despite the cold outside and a full wall of river-facing windows. The river below is beautiful and the sound, relaxing. If you wish to use the wood-stove, bring extra short logs, as only a few pieces & kindling are provided to get things started. Otherwise, the baseboards worked very well in keeping the place warm. Wi-Fi was reliable. Verizon cellular signal was weak and dropped calls periodically. Notes for Accessibility: Steps (8-12) lead up to the cabin from the gravel drive, steep step-ladder to upstairs/loft sleeping area (queen sized bed), and a small/tight (maybe ~20") entry into the bathroom (with accordion door) which is accessed through the downstairs bedroom (full size bed). Low ceiling clearance downstairs with loft framing and A-frame sloped walls. The cabin is easy to find and about 10-15 minutes away from food/shops. There is a restaurant just across the highway, but the hours are limited.

The perfect pet friendly get away!

  • 4 of 5

We absolutely loved staying here! It was just my boyfriend and I, and our 2 dogs (one large and one small). It was our first vacation/getaway and the wolf den was just what we were hoping for. The wolf theme throughout the small and semi rustic cabin is super cozy with or without the wood burning stove lit. We chose to sleep up in the loft because the view out the front windows in the morning was beautiful and snow covered still. The cabin has everything you need and more! The bathroom entrance is a little small but still useable of course, but if you are tall or larger it might not be the most comfortable fit. There was plenty of towels and washcloths and extra blankets if needed but we stayed plenty warm. The strand of Christmas lights along the front window add the perfect amount of light at night that we rarely used any of the other lights in the living room. Sherry greeted us and is nearby if we were to need anything or have any problem. We also got some treats in Leavenworth from her daughters shop A Paw Above and revived a discount for staying here! We will definitely be coming back for more stays here and recommending to others! Maybe try out the bluff retreat as well!

We also recommend the 97 Rock House that is right across highway 97 for some great coffee, some basic breakfast foods, and the overall feel and warmth of the place was great. They also have a big patio out back to hang out.

Idyllic winter getaway near Leavenworth

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked a few days (with another couple joining us for two nights) at the Bluff cabin in January. We were hoping for a wintry getaway, and we totally lucked out with the weather. The area had just received an extra foot of snow by the time we arrived, so we celebrated our first morning by sledding down the hill by our doorstep!

The cabin itself is incredibly charming with a wood-burning stove, a view of the river below, and that great A-frame aesthetic. The location is about a 10-15 minute drive from Leavenworth, and there's a great coffee shop across the street from the entrance to the cabin's neighborhood.

- Comfy, cozy interior (heating works well, and the stove can make things downright toasty).

- Great views from the cabin (misty mountains, forest, and a small river nearby).

- Full kitchen amenities (including full-sized refrigerator), shower, and laundry in-cabin.

- Very close to Leavenworth, hiking/snowshoeing. Sledding right outside the cabin.

- Sherry, the owner, is very sweet and personable.

- Loft space for the second bed helps create a feeling of separate spaces.

- Small TV with DVD/VCR/Cable as a relaxing way to unwind after a day of snowshoeing.

- While there is wi-fi, it's incredibly spotty. However, given that we were looking for a getaway, having poor cell phone and wi-fi reception actually might be a "pro" to some.

- During the snow season you'll need traction tires/chains for safe entry/exit from the neighborhood (but if you're heading toward Leavenworth in the winter, you probably have that covered).

- The cabin's interior walls don't really block any sound, so if you're staying with others you'll want to keep that in mind.

- The spiral staircase leading to the loft area is a bit treacherous to ascend/descend. I would recommend those with mobility issues to use the ground floor bedroom.

Overall we had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend the cabin to others. My wife is excited to book a stay sometime during the spring or summer to see how things are then.

Cozy Relaxing and Wonderful - Snow was a bonus!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Bluff House A-Frame cabin and my husband and I had another wonderfully relaxing weekend here! Owner is friendly and the cabin is always clean, decorated with charm and very comfortable for the 2 of us and our dog Kobe. This time we had the bonus of 7 inches of snow and it couldn't have been more peaceful and beautiful watching the snowflakes fall while enjoying our cozy cabin with warm, crackling wood stove. We will be back again for sure! Thank you for sharing your little piece of winter paradise with us!
