Myrtle Cottage is set in an attractive row of historic terraced houses, a short walk from the river and the village pubs and restaurant.
This coy cottage sleeps four people and is ideal for families or couples. It is comfortably furnished and includes 2 bathrooms and is dog friendly.
On the ground floor the living area has a wood burning stove as it centerpiece, inset into the chimney. The two sofas are well placed to receive the warmth from the fire and to watch a DVD or free-view from the flat screen LCD television.
The Dining area has a large table and six chairs, a highchair can also be made available. This area leads into the cozy kitchen. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a washing machine.
The useful ground floor family bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment, basin and toilet. All towels are provided.
Up the wooden stairs is the master bedroom with a sleigh bed and bedside cabinets. It has an en-suite shower room with an electric power shower, basin and toilet.
The second bedroom contains two twin beds and is located at the front of the property overlooking the quiet street.
Falmouth is one of the largest ports in Cornwall and the village of Flushing is on the opposite side of the estuary and can be reached by road or passenger ferry. First inhabited by the Dutch in the 17th century, today it is a tranquil retreat favored by water sports enthusiasts and families looking for a traditional seaside holiday.
Flushing is the ideal place to stay if you want a peaceful setting that is within easy reach of local tourists attractions.
Flushing has a popular sailing club and tourists come from all over to see the Flushing Regatta, which is held every summer in July.
In a calm and pretty village. The cottage was clean an well-maintained and the owners made us very welcome with flowers and local goodies. An ideal location for a restful break, almost literally away from it all.
We were looking for somewhere to enjoy the fresh Cornish Air, great food and friendly locals. In the evening, close the door light a fire and pour a glass of wine...and that is just what we found!! Flushing is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect. It has quiet streets lined with traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community.
Flushing has two pubs and a stunning seafood restaurant all within stumbling distance plus a friendly well-stocked general store. It also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own dog-friendly beach.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay
