Overview

About the property

This is a very wonderful, very special cottage that has been around for a long time - 100 years old with lots of character. If the walls could talk I am sure they would have stories to tell. We had renovated this cottage about 14 years ago. It has a wonderful east coat ambiance with a stone exterior. The cottage has 2 bedrooms - 1 bedroom with queen bed and the other has 2 built in bunk beds with their own reading lights(sleeps 4). The screen porch is a favorite room with our guests. The views are beautiful with the cottage facing west with amazing sunsets. It has an open floor plan with a kitchen island and an cozy eating nook. Clearwater lake is large (3000 acres) with a restaurant and bait shop with boat rental located on it. We have a very nice swimming area with hard sand bottom. Great fishing lake! The cottage is close to the Metro are - less then an hour away. The nearest town is Annandale - wonderful with its quaint shops and excellent restaurants - Café Jules is my favorite! Brewery and winery also nearby.

The cottage has Satellite TV, air conditioning, gas and charcoal grill, campfire area. All sheets and towels supplied. Dock, boat-lift and canoe for your use.

Charming, cozy, comfortable cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Stone cottage is a special place. It feels very private, has beautiful views, and has lots of spots to gather and connect with famly. The screen porch was our favorite spot. The sandy bottom lake shore is great for little ones as it is gently sloping and shallow way out past the end of the dock. We enjoyed the cool breezes, peaceful mornings with coffee by the lake and sunset views from the dock. This cabin is on the quieter end of the lake. Jane is a wonderful hostess and made us feel well cared for.

Great place to celebrate a surprise 60th Birthday

  • 5 of 5

We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay 4 nights at this lovely cottage over Memorial Day Weekend. Our grown children and their spouses traveled from afar to surprise my husband for his 60th birthday! What a wonderful place to spend time with our family - we wanted for nothing (except maybe a reprieve from the heat and May flies :) Jane and her husband allowed us to plug in our little A-frame popup camper so my husband and I could sleep in air conditioning; giving our children some space in the cottage. The outside decks were amazing - we seem to spend most of our time in the screened-in one. I was partial to the deck that offered a swing in which to look out over the water while reading a good book. For such a large lake, we sere surprised how peaceful and quiet it was.on a holiday weekend. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and hope to return again.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5

Not enough words to describe what a wonderful stay my partner and I had at the cottage. Beautiful and cozy. Clean and utterly charming. Warm and friendly hosts - I know we both hope to stay here again some time in the future. Can't recommend this cottage enough.

A lovely cottage on a lovely lake

  • 5 of 5

The word charming really does describe this beautifully renovated and decorated stone cottage! We especially loved the views of the lake below

from the screened porch, deck, and master bedroom. The lake itself is clear and also offered stunning sunsets and sweet serenades from the loons.

Our stay was so comfortable and relaxing, and Jane was the perfect host. She was super helpful and provided great suggestions for dining and a coffee shop just a short drive away in Annandale. (Though I admit we were reluctant to leave at all as the cottage had everything we needed).

I had a strong feeling I would fall in love with the cottage the moment I walked through the door.

And I most definitely did.

I'm counting the days now until my next visit.
