Great apartment, wonderful stay!

We loved everything about this apartment: the location, the decor, and the responsiveness of the landlord, Darryl. My husband and I rent on Capitol Hill often, when we visit our daughter who lives nearby. When this apartment appeared on VRBO, we took a bit of a chance since there were no reviews yet, but our expectations were exceeded. The apartment has been recently renovated, and looks new. The decor is exactly as in the photos, and very spacious. Downstairs there is a living room area with tv & pullout sofa, ample dining area with large table, very big kitchen (for the neighborhood), and back hall with powder room, large pantry, and mechanical room. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and good knives for cooking; it was missing a few odds and ends, but I think Darryl plans to add those soon. A back door leads to a (unrenovated--maybe to come?) patio area and access to 3rd st. Upstairs are 2 queen bedrooms on the small side with big closets, a laundry closet, and a large master suite with a queen bed and tv, huge walk-in closet, and a big bathroom with a giant shower and separate jacuzzi tub. Everything was super clean (a pet peeve of mine) and beds were moderately comfortable (a bit on the hard side).

The location on E St NE between 2nd & 3rd can't be beat. It is 1 block from Union Station (which has a mall, CVS, and food court), and a 10 minute walk to the Capitol and the Mall & museums. There are 2 coffee shops within a block (Ebenezer's and Union Market--I am not a coffee drinker but my daughter says Union Market has the best coffee). Giant Food is 3 blocks away at the end of 3rd St, and Whole Foods is just one more block further. For an added bonus, there is a Barre 3 studio a few blocks away as well. We mostly cooked in, but there is a Mexican restaurant in Union Station, and an Italian place nearby. We also ordered really great pizza from Matchbox via the Caviar food delivery app.

The landlord, Darryl, was a huge help. He answered all my pre-rental questions within hours, and renting on VRBO was a breeze. He made sure there was cable tv, in addition to the Roku tv, so that we could watch the Superbowl, which was integral to our weekend! When I emailed him our first morning to let him know the disposal wasn't working, he sent someone within 30 minutes of my email to fix it.

I am almost afraid to give such a great review, because now the secret will be out and we may have competition when we want to rent here again!

Owner's Response: I couldn't have asked for a better guest to help start my rental/hosting at this amazing property, jane and her husband are great examples of what a perfect guest is. They new what they wanted from the beginning and i am glad to have been able to make their stay a pleasant one. I will without a doubt be willing to host them again. They took care of the property and left it the very same way they found it, clean! . For those who might want to book this property in the future, especially now that the secret is out, please don't be discouraged If your prefered dates are not available here, I have two other properties that are just as beautiful and spacious nearby. These other two properties can be found on VRBO 1221869 and VRBO 1235171. The quality and service are all the same.

First class!

This townhome is in immaculate condition and was restored with top grade fixtures. Well done, Darryl.

The location is ideal for walking and/or the Metro. I took my wife and three daughters and we were grateful for the safety of the neighborhood. We’ll definitely rebook on future visits.

Great house, perfect location, looks exactly like the pictures

The Teasley is a terrific property all around. I highly recommend it and would stay there again. It’s recently renovated so feels very fresh and up-to-date. We did not rent a car and didn’t need to because it’s in an ideal location. There is a supermarket just around the corner and several restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Darryl was very responsive to questions and helpful when we realized we left behind a pair of Beats headphones. The cleaners found them and Darryl is sending them to us.

Newly Renovated with comforts of home

This property is in a fantastic location close to Union Station, and the Capitol building. It is well furnished with everything you could need in every room, and especially the kitchen. It feels clean and modern yet comfortable like home. We had an excellent stay and our host was terrific in his communications.

This home is just as advertised: clean, well appointed and right next to Union Station. This also puts a number of good restaurants and pubs within a couple blocks. Also a short walk to the Capital Building and that end of the mall.

Darryl is a very responsive owner. He communicated before our arrival, checked on us while we were there and came through for us on a special request during our trip to make our lives easier. This home will be on the top of my list when I return to DC.
